  2. nope, sorry...you're close though. j.s. and i both are milanites now living in maryville. we actually work together here and talk football 2-3 times/week.
  3. "We had 2 players on the Rebs that will go to Alcoa, both of them were 11 yrs old. One of them was Randall Cobb's nephew (he had 2 nephews on the team - one at Alcoa and one at MIS). The other kid that will go to Alcoa is really good too - very tough."
  4. Actually, I'd say the last 40 years... Go Dawgs!
  5. Great job Tornadoes. Even though I'm a Milan boy living in Maryville now...which gives me TWO reasons to be a hater, I've got to give props and respect for a local team cracking the rankings. Congrats!
  6. You're right, several good players on that team. The best one I saw was porter (#27?) and he is at Maryville Intermediate (MIS). He and my son are on the same biddy league basketball team and played against each other in the midget league championship game a couple of weeks ago. #21 was very good also. My son says that there a few other kids from other midget teams that also go to MIS and MMS. We had 2 players on the Rebs that will go to Alcoa, both of them were 11 yrs old. One of them was Randall Cobb's nephew (he had 2 nephews on the team - one at Alcoa and one at MIS). The other kid that will go to Alcoa is really good too - very tough. They will be a big pick-up for the Tornadoes...LOTS of potential in those two boys. So, I can understand how it feels to have good kids on the team that will go to another school, you really hate that they won't continue to play together with the other boys on the team. But, I'd like to think the parents are doing what is best for their kids, so I don't fault them for it at all. From what I saw, they all seemed to have good sportsmanship and respect for each other - which is a testament to the coaches and parents. By the way, I'm gonna give a shout out to Greyrider's boy, he had some good licks out there this year!
  7. Amen. Let the kids settle it on the field...
  8. Ok, I'm new to Maryville...what does that mean?
  9. ...will never be a local, but am glad to be accepted! we've had lots of folks visit us from milan since we moved here this summer and they all love it. at least the kids will be 1st gen now and have a chance with little bladerunner! got to love it! That's good to hear on JW... I saw where they tested 41 on a play tonight...
  10. Okay, for those of you that have seen my posts as wp4rebs...I just changed my screen name to rebulldawg. I needed a different name, as I figured greyrider needed something better to yell at me when he sees me at the games! Hadn't done the board thing before now, so I didn't put enough thought into it the first go-around. Anyway, most of you won't give a rip, but for the rest of you, I thought I'd let you know. GO REBS!
