  1. So, its Week 0 which to me means its time for some District Weekly Predictions.

    This Weeks Games:

    Clarksville Academy        hosting      Montgomery Central

    East Robertson                hosting      DCA

    Houston County               hosting      Waverly

    Nashville Christian                @         Harpeth

    McEwen                                @         Zion Christian

    Jo Byrns                            off

    I'm picking:

    Clarksville Academy

    DCA

    Houston County

    Nashville Christian

    McEwen

  2. Stewart County will be down for a year or two.

I agree with this. However it has been proven already that with the right coach success is possible. Just a thought, what a coincidence if they do hire Finley from CC. Not many teams lose a coach that runs SBV and hire one that runs SBV.. Who knew that many coaches in TN ran such a historic yet incredibly effective offense. That itself could be why they may only be down 1 or 2 years instead of 3-4. Getting to stay in the same offensive philosophy when a coaching change happens is huge.

  3. Heritage will go 5-5 or 6-4.... Heritage has a solid backfield returning with a QB that has a cannon for an arm. Usually always have a line with decent size and good enough to get the job done. I think the big runningback they have should have a big year. Westmoreland, Sycamore, Cheatham who graduated a lot, should all be wins. Greenbriar will be a hard fought game since there is the revenge factor from last season but I think WHH pulls it out. I dont know the rest of the schedule except for White House and Clarksville Academy. I think WHH will struggle with those two just based on tradition and atmosphere. However I think Pat Brown and his staff will make a good showing their first year in 3A.

  4. TheDefense,

He was an assistant football coach and the head Baseball Coach for 1 year in Stewart County. Maybe that will help broaden your Google search on him. It was not in his earlier years. Stewart has had some success the last 5-6 years. I do know this.............the kids have played hard.

Thanks for the Info. I also know they have been successful recently. Myles Holiday built a good program and had those guys playing at a high level. I think taylor did a good job given the situation he was in. However family comes first and I understand why he is leaving. Was just curious how everyone in SC is handling changing coaches again so soon. I'll keep my eye on this board and the clarksville leaf chronicle. I'm sure news will pop up as soon as its available.

  5. SC will win 3-5 games next year. Those 3-5 will be NW who may be improving but is still NW. Waverly who loses a very good Qb and some skill players. Creekwood will be a toss-up but could go the rebels way if they can replace some defensive losses. Montgomery Central who is still a couple of years from getting back to competitive. Finally East Hickman, who seems to be improving but still seems to not have consistancy, plus I heard they lost several skill players. HC will not be one of those wins for SC. HC returns too much this year. SC will be lucky to stay on the field them this year.

  6. Round 2

    Greenback - 28

    Copper Basin - 14

    Coalfield - 28

    Cloudland - 7

    Gordansville - 42

    South Pitt - 28

    Moore Co - 35

    Eagleville - 21

    Collinwood - 28

    Jo Byrns - 14

    Clarksville Academy - 21

    Nashville Christian - 20

    West Carroll - 42

    Halls - 14

    Huntingdon - 35

    Union City - 14

  7. Week 10 picks..

    CA over MC

    HC over ER

    JB over NCS

JB @ NCS is the game of the week for sure as far as shaking up the district standings. I think both teams excell in different areas. JB is a power offense and NCS more a finese and speed team. Usually I would pick speed over power but I think the difference will be on defense. JB is a solid defense that doesnt make many mistakes. NCS has good athletes everywhere. The Swann kid is pretty good at his DE spot. However, imo NCS is a little soft in the middle and I think JB will take advantage of that. Either way I hope both teams come out swinging and give the fans a show leaving it all on the field.

Good Luck D10, its been a very competitive regular season.

  8. My Picks...

JB over McEwen - McEwen played the game of their life last week and HC decided not to show up until the 3rd qtr and the usually stout defense struggled all night. However I don't see McEwen being able to play that good 2 weeks in a row. I will say this though they are as big as anyone in the district so JB still better bring it like they seem to every week.

WHH over ER - This is a game I almost pick the other way. ER seems like they have been more competitive as the season has progressed. I think WHH wins by 10 or less. But a couple of breaks fall ER's way and they could pull a bigtime upset this week.

HC over NCS - I agree with BaseballAlumni12, this is the impact game of the week in the district. Should be a great game to watch. HC is undefeated at home this year and I think they stay that way in a slugfest that should showcase to of the better skill players in the district in Booker from NCS and Moran from HC.

Heard someone say earlier this season that this district is like a Mini-SEC.... after seeing these teams swap punches all season I am starting to beleive it. Good Luck in Week 9 District 10.

  9. Now I don't remember all this drama last year when they dropped a 9-1 perry county a 10-0 Wayne county and 10-0 Huntingdon all in the same quad. Bottom line you gotta strap up and play the game. The best team will come out on top. I also seriously think that the easy is underestimating the West this year. Huntingdon and West Carroll are very good football teams and you will play one of them in the championship game. Jmo

I believe the underlined portion sums it up well. I remember last year looking at that PC, Huntingdon, WC, Clarksville Academy quad and thinking they must have put team helmets out and let a monkey throw crap at them to determine who was in what quad. The system makes absolutely no sense, but at the end of the day you have to strap it up and if your team has what it takes the opponent doesn't matter. Will be interesting to see how this will probably come together in the next two weeks and then Late Friday night on Oct 26 completely change to something no one expects. Good Luck to all that the monkey hits your helmet while the correct quad is being choosen. icon_e_wink.gif

  10. I'm thinking Adamsville will be in quad 4 and Houston Co will be moved back to quad 3 because of the 2nd place team in Adamsville's district that will also be in quad 4. Community who is currently in quad 3 will not make it in and IF Houston Co wins out they will be at worse #2 seed in quad 3 with a 9-1 record. If I am missing something in the fine print please let me know, making since of this playoff system is sometimes impossible.

  11. Week 7 Pics...

CA over JB - CA has the O/D Line to matchup with JB and their skill players are a little bit deeper I think. This will be an amazing game that will have HUGE implications on who wins the District this year.

HC over McEwen - big rivalry game here, but if HC plays the way they are capable of they will get the win and keep their district title hopes alive. On a sidenote this sets up as a trap game for HC with NCS looming next week. Those HC boys better come out and take care of business or they could get their tails handed to them.

WHH over NCS - This should be a slugfest. Both teams played CA close earlier in the year and both have beat McEwen. NCS is playing to stay in the district title hunt, while whh is playing for a playoff spot. Both teams have a lot to play but I think WHH pulls off what many would consider an upset.

Looks like a Great week of football in what is shaping up to be one of if not THE Toughest District in Class A. Good Luck District 10A Teams.

  12. Does T$$AA really not know their own playoff system? It plainly states that the top two teams in each district make the playoffs. The district that Adamsville is leading has only 2A playoff teams in it. However the quads only have one team from that district representing it. I know its early and their are still 3 weeks of ball left but.. Come On Man.... know your own system t$$aa. Even if you don't know if it will be Trinity or Riverside at least put the one currently in second in the quad and make the playoff picture a little more realistic. icon_e_confused.gif

  13. Congrats to HC, NCS, and WHH tonight. Anyone have any info on how any of the games played out tonight?

HC vs CA was a slugfest. Both defenses played extremely well all night. HC cameback from being down 20-6 with 6 minutes left to win 28-20. First half scoreing was CA with a run up the middle early by #2 from CA. Then HC special teams took advantage of a bad snap on a punt and recovered the ball in the endzone for a TD. 3rd qtr saw no scoring by either side, was very wet and sloppy at this point. 4th qtr CA scored on a pass to #10 and then the CA defense picked off a pass and scored within a few plays on a run by #15. Hc answered with a 70yd TD pass. Then on the next CA possesion scoop and scored a fumble for about 60yds to tie the game up at 20 all. The next drive CA fumbled again and HC drove down and scored with 40sec left to take a lead. CA had one last chance that was ended when one of the HC d-linemen picked off a screen pass to seal the game. Overall was an incredible game with both teams leaving everything on the field.

  14. Enrollment #'s on TSSAA for 2013-2017...http://www.tssaa.org...ssification.cfm

White House Heritage High School 564

    East Robertson High School 424

    Houston Co. High School 421

    Jo Byrns School 349

    McEwen High School 310

    Clarksville Academy 189

    Nashville Christian School 158

What will this mean for next year???

My guess would be WHH bumps to 3a and leaves the district and they move someone else in... or they bump whh out and leave the district with 6 schools.
