  1. I think what they are trying to say is this:

"Tullahoma’s defense was outstanding indeed, limiting the high-powered Lawrence Co. offense to only 160 yards, with 46 of those yards coming on one play. The visitors only completed one pass for seven yards, and the district’s leading rusher Trent Garland, who came in averaging 139 yards per game, was held to only 110 yards including the 46-yard gallop.

The Wildcat offense matched the defensive performance against a very tough and physical Lawrence Co. defense, racking up 328 yards of total offense led by QB Jared Davis, who completed 16-20 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Trey Burks led the rushing attack, with 58 of his 62 yards coming in the second half".

They think that Lawrence County cannot beat Tullahoma on the ground and they are going to have to pass the ball to win. The above article quotes are about as specific as anyone would need. Can LCHS run the ball? Can LCHS pass the ball? If Garland and gang can't run then they better be able to pass! I think that is what they are saying. I look for a different team come Friday night and expect this to be the game we were all expecting two weeks ago. Was that the "specific" you were looking for or was it which "Wildcat" team would win?

Yeah I was pretty much just asking which wildcats he was referring to. Haha

  2. Tullahoma will try to take Garland and Izzary away and make the purple cats beat them in the air.Lots of man coverage,Lotta men in the box. tullahomas special teams will be better than Cleveland. No cheap or quick ones for LCHS. Still....I think the wildcats win this one.

You need to be more specific

  3. You hit the nail on the head!! The Tullahoma game was not very well officiated to say the least. Very questionable calls. You are also correct about the team being more disciplined this year. You could just about bet on at least a couple late hits and usually from the same couple players. I guess all the running and actually growing up a bit has solved that problem. I don't see LCHS changing their play because of a couple close calls. They need to keep playing hard and hope for some good refs that understand football is a contact sport!!

I couldn't agree more! LC's 2009 team was much more disciplined than 2008. This 2010 team is easily the most disciplined hard hitting team I've seen. Last weeks game was riddled with questionable calls. But that's besides the point...LCHS invented something known as KABO last year...the defense lives by it. So Cleveland will surely be hurting after the game, but it's up to the LC offense to make sure they aren't only hurting, but losing. This game will be highly defensive for LC, and has the potential to win the game for the wildcats. However, I don't see a team with a great defense and an OK offense going any further than the second round. Same happened last years playoffs. Craigmont was a test of the LC defense, Mitchell was almost completely the offense's game for both teams and the best offensive team won, Mitchell.

  4. I do see what you are talking about with the LCHS team. It appeared that the offense was handcuffed last week against Tullahoma. The LCHS defense actually played very well but the offense struggled for 2 1/2 quarters and then they moved the ball down the field and scored, then low and behold, they came back the very next series and ran the same plays and sets that hadn't worked before. I have seen LCHS play on several occasions this year and it appears they are a hot and cold team. If what they are doing works then watch out. If it is not working, then look for the same thing the entire game. They have the capability to do very well in the playoffs but they have to be able to do a better job adjusting and calling plays that can actually earn them a win. Win or lose they always play hard and hit even harder!!

    Good luck CATS!!

I could not agree more! Be sure to look for a huge defensive game out of Montrell Prince, Drake Newton, and of course Trent Garland (offensively as well). Tyler Bosheers, Whit Shelton, and Trevor Mac will be knocking some of Cleveland's player out for sure, but I expect the most impressive hits will be coming from number 88 Jesse Kennady. If you're there this Friday, which I expect you will be, keep your eye on the six-foot-seven monster that will probably crushing ever person he touches! Those players, I believe, will be keys in the Wildcat's defensive success. I can't wait to see how it all plays out this Friday night though!

  5. So you were on some of those teams that never made the playoffs??

I was a part of one of those teams, yes. Those were the years that Tullahoma would beat us at the end of the season and knock us out of playoffs. However, TSSAA made some changes in district and who we play and low and behold we have the best season in decades and make it to the playoffs last year. But that is another discussion for another forum. I know this team on many levels. The team they have this year is more than capable, but the question is will they bring everything they have? Two weeks ago, they didn't bring anything to the field until the second half. Tullahoma has an incredibly good team, but LC is definitely capable of defeating them. Last Friday was not playoff material for Lawrence County which definitely leads me to believe that this good Cleveland team will have no trouble competing with the wildcats. In the end though, my bias towards Lawrence County and the personal level that I know almost every player on that team tells me that they will win Friday night. Look for it to be one of the best games played by either team.

  6. WOW......that is a very bold statement!! You speak as if you have seen Lawrence County play.

I have missed maybe 3 games in 6 years. I have definitely seen them play, I actually played for them. Therefore, I'm not shy to say such bold things about the team. They are very good, but I know that they run a wingT that is less than impressive, but very practical for the LC team. Don't underestimate it, but I don't anticipate it being a reason Cleveland should be nervous about. It is run very predictably, but Garland is effective. LC wins by a TD

  7. The one wing T offense we saw this year didnt score a point on us. You may score a point but its not going to be as much as you think!

I definitely agree with this. It's way too far of a stretch to say that LC will win 27-0. Yes, LC has a great defense, but what offense do they have other than Garland and Izarry? Cleveland's QB is also talented. It's going to be a close one. If LC can hold them and if their offense shows up then LC will take it no doubt. If LC defense doesn't show, and Cleveland's does then LC stands absolutely no chance. I'm much more confident in LC's D though...so I'm going to call LC winning by no more than a touchdown.

  8. Since we are wanting to move on, Does anyone have the address to the football field? Is it located at the high school?

    Yes it's located at

    1800 springer road

    Lawrenceburg, TN 38464

The stadium is located directly behind the school so the best way to get there turning onto weekly creek road and turning into the student parking lot which will give you access to the stadium, be sure to get there early because LCHS fans are seriously no joke

  9. We will be making the trip and I think the team will be leaving early Friday morning. I assume they will be taking a charter bus. I think its about a 3 1/2 hour trip by car and about 4 by bus.

If LC brings it Friday night, that will be the longest ride home those boys will have in their lives....just saying

  10. Back several years ago when they had bowl games, Cleveland would be district champs and head to head meetings would count. Being district champs now don't figure in the playoff system.

Clearly that was back years ago and not now, so tell me this instead if going on about how district champs count and bowl games blah blah.....tell me who you think will win this Friday night and why you think you're right..after all, this is what the forum is about

  11. You are right VOLFAN!! We do need to just let all this who won first and who won second crap go. I can just hear the LCHS coaches telling their team that the runners up, no the champions, no the runners up of District 5AAA will be coming to town Friday night! Actually, I bet neither team gives a big whoop where they finished in the district. Its time to play some football!!!

Preach it brother! I'm just ready to see the outcome! From what I hear Lchs is stronger on the Defense and Cleveland has one heck of a QB.

  12. Idiot?? If you can't read and tell that tie breaker and the playoff tie breaker are two totally different tie breakers then I question who the idiot is! Where does the playoff tie breaker have anythig about meeting on a neutral field and playing the tie breaker rule? READ PEOPLE!! Bradley County is the District Champs! Call the TSSAA when they start taking calls again and you will see Cleveland came in 2nd! Kind of sucks when you think about them getting drilled against Soddy and running around chanting they were the champs! Kind of Embarrassing!!

Let's get back to who's going to win this Friday night.
