  1. yeah, deandre...he was so good, thing is, basketball is off and on the court...there are rules to play ball...and take dunn down?...that is so funny...very funny...you make your jokes yourself?

/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Sorry, but I wasn't joking!!! Dunn will have to be the man this yr though. He has no competition.

  2. Sorry to the DC faithful but i jus don't see them a major contender without Bass now. I think they will still be a tough team, and will definitly be top 4 most likely 3rd, with a possible upset of Upperman or LA maybe, but LA and Upperman are on another level than everyone else I think. DC would have challenged for that title with Bass I believe, but now it looks a little to far out of reach. I could be wrong though. Good luck to DC this season.

/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> You know king of swing, I think you are right. Losing Bass really hurt, plus the lost seniors. Also, they lost Trey Finley. He would have been a senior but I think he quit or something. He was a pretty good player, that got alot of playing time last year. They may have lost others that I don't know about. Oh well, let the best team win! lol. I had really looked foward to watching Deandre play.He was awesome. He blew it though. Everyone makes crazy mistakes sometime, but some are irreversible. If he only knew how many fans he had. Oh well, goodnight

  3. lets compare dunn and bass head to head...shoot lets play them head to head, there is no contest....and get used to the mvp thing....cause dunn gets it again this year and next too

/dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Gosh, I would love to see Deandre play Dunn head to head. You know we can never see that again. Its a shame, Bass would've had a scholarship. Unfortunately, you can't see Deandre take Dunn down, like he would.Bass has been through so much and I don't even want to go watch Dekalb without him. He is the best, sorry.

He lives about a mile from me. Want a little off court competition? lol.

  4. VERY WELL PUT, It is exactly that kind of player that is in demand by every college coach, national team, odp team etc... It is very common to be an ABOVE average player in High School Soccer, but when you succeed in the higher levels, then you are much more. I touched base with a parent from the Station Camp Team last nite, they told me that NIGRO had a great game, and was really the only player on the field that was still running and trying her hardest. She had great passes, beating defender after defender, and an amazing goal at the end, beating 3 defenders and the goal keeper. It seemed to them that a lot of the girls on LA was simply not in shape to play the next level. Which leads to how important running every day is. I know that if you want to play college, no matter what position, you have to be able to run a mile at 7, or you wont even be considered, I bet Nigro has her own work out she does everyday. I look forward to seeing Nigro play at the higher level games she is involved in. Sounds like we are all watching one of the next World Cup Player, or Olympic Player. Good luck to her she has a lot of fans already.

    /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> What do you mean, run a mile at 7 ??? Just wondering!

  5. I was doing some checking on Kat Nigro.

Wow, she has already had some big accomplishments.

    USSF National ID Camp

    ODP Region 3 Team

    3 Time All Tournament

    8 Time MVP

    Numerous tournaments

    Olympic Development Program.

And get this......she graduates in 2011

    She's a Freshman???????

Not to mention a 4.0 GPA.

/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Ok, I have gotta tell you. Kat is an awesome player. I have never seen anyone who can dribble around the defenders like she does. Its like shes playing games with them. We are one of their district apponents and of course we lost to them everytime. My daughter is the goalie and she suffered the wrath of Livingston. No goalie can stop that girl, with one on one shots. When Kat scored about 3 points she just slacked off and tried to let the rest of the team get some points. So, the whole team is great, but she is magic. LOL.She should have been voted MVP. Her dad was even nice enough to tell my daughter she done a good job, and that really meant alot to her. I expect Livingston will go far this year and even farther in the years to come. Good luck Livingston!!!

  6. Depends on the district (each one does it differently). Some vote, some pick, some do a combination of both. Your coach will know what your district does.

    I am talking about region 4, district 7 .

  7. Hello, Could someone tell me how and who decides who gets all district ? Is it the team coach or all of the coaches in the district? Also, how do they decide who get goalie of the year? Is it the most saves or what? What about an MVP, does every team have one or is this just something the coach made up. Please be honest!! Thanks /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  8. QUOTE(sumnercountybball @ Jan 27 2007 - 12:23 PM) 826348025[/snapback]

Well said............. I have seen this at other schools. I don't even have a daughter or granddaughter playing. I usually catch a little grief from others on my beliefs.

This coach and other coaches do not care about the High School student. Notice I said HS and not college. There is a big difference between high school students and kids on scholarships with coaches that can be fired at any minute. A big difference.

My point is these coaches are so busy playing for the future, they can't enjoy the present. The coach will not allow the high school student to enjoy the present.

Always keep in mind, it is the coach who decides who is on the team, and who remains on the team each year. It is just wrong to leave a senior on a team and not play her. I always say it would be better to cut them once , instead of hurting them each year over and over again.

Before someone out there starts throwing out "the best should play" line, Remember this is high school. Also remember the next time your boss meets with you and says. " __________, we have made a decision to go in another direction, you have alot to offer, but we have another person that will bring something new to the table". In other words, "new " means a younger person than you with less experience but lots of potential. Relate that to a freshman playing in front of an upper classman with the same skills.

Some of these coaches are playing younger players because they have potential, while the other girls who have been committed to the program lose their playing time. Like you said earlier, the outcome of these games is not going to change by playing this freshman.

Freshman and JV ball is where to coach up girls.

Believe me, most of us know when we see a freshman that is a superstar. She should be a major player on your team from the beginning. Enough said, this discussion only makes me mad.. "Coaches are Gods". copyrighted by me.

Great post !! You made alot of good points. You are right , coaches are God at least some think they are. They can make or break a player, make some superstars, make some feel miserable. The senior we are talking about is good. She is the tallest one on the team and can score. Not many on the team can. Well, I couldn't be a coach. I wouldn't wanna look that stupid by playing favorites. The fans all see what is going on. I do not have a daughter on the team either. Thank goodness!! Lol

  9. I personally think its lack of experience on the coaches part. Its not olny those few freshman, but there is also a senior girl on the team I feel has not been treated fairly also. I know shes not the best but she has some height and not alot of experience. She started a few games and now hardly even gets to play. Don't know if its dew to the way she performs at practice or in the game. I have seen her play as well as any of the others at times, saw times she did'nt block out or rebound but again I see all of them do that. Again, its talent that may have been slighted. But she don't do any worse than the freshman that took her place. They both foul and the freshman may score 1 or 2 points per game sometimes none. So should the senior get the start or he freshman? I'm sure if the senior played as much as the freshman she would score that much too. For instance the senior went in the other night scored 6 points got a couple of rebounds. Played fairly good for the few minutes of playing time she got. Then the coach takes her out puts a freshman out there that was as lost as could be. Even heard the grandfather comment she wouldnt get as much playing time as she does if he coached. Several players that start have some defensive talent but no offense. Some have started pretty much every game never score. In a few games they may score a couple of points. So if there not scoring take a couple out at a time try someone else give them a chance with some of the starters. Even the freshman guard, she is a good player but has had alot of trouble controling the ball. Making several bad passes per game, but will learn to make the right passes with experience. Same for the few freshman we are talking about put them in one at a time not all four or five of them together. They might just show something they have to contribute. I'm not saying they would do better but there is always that chance that they could. But when you put them in for a minute or less they have no chance to show what they have. The 3 that went in for the 25 sec none ever touched the ball. The 2 that had been playing brought the ball down passed to each other and shoot. But I'm sure they enjoyed just getting on the floor. But I know they deserve more than that. You can learn alot just watching and listen. The senior has done her time but some of the freshman play more. And there are others that dont get the time they deserve either.

Finally, someone feels exactly as I do. I have been at the last few games and has saw things the coach does and it makes no sense. It like she don't care if they win or not, or she is playing politics even though its making her look stupid.Yea, Crystal only got to play a few minutes the other night and everything she shot went in.She was the 2nd highest scorer ,with her very few minutes of glory. The starters are not that good. Such a big deal is being made out of some of these freshman and they can't even score. Crystal is just as good if not better. It only took her a few minutes to score what most of the so-called starters did all night. It just doesn't make a bit of sense. I hope it is not because Crystal was not part of the all famous Saints team. Thats what plays ,Agees team. Politics, lol

  10.

Losing three seniors, pitcher, catcher, 2nd base

    B) Thanks so much for the info Queenbee.I tried to email you and Pm you but it would not let me because I am not a plus member.I knew you would know. I really can't say why I am asking on the boards. I bet the team is really missing Monica. She was great, but she is great at everything she does. Also what size Rocketech was she swinging last year? I have been looking at some on ebay for my DD and they are so expensive, especially the 2004 model. We can't afford that.

Also the best of luck to the lady owls this season. They are a great team!

    thanks again!

  11. 8th graders that are housed on the same campus as the high school can play 5 years of varsity ball. A special education student, while possibly being in high school more than five years, can only be considered a 9th grader (or 10,11 or 12th grader) for one year each. They can't be a 9th grader for 2-3 years eligibility-wise. If you had an 8th grade special education student that was housed on the same campus as your high school, then they would have five years to compete as long as they did not turn 19 before September 1st of the senior year. Otherwise you would have 20 year old special ed students playing everywhere. They are allowed to attend school until they are 21, but they can't keep eligibility past 19. One year of eligibility for each year of a normal high school career. Hope this helps.

 So, if a girl failed a grade when they were in elementary school and they are freshman but over 16 can they play all 4 yrs of high school even though they will be 19 before Sept 1st ?????

  12. Let me clarify... this was the post that I replied to (see below). I really meant this for him. He was a senior last year. I sure didn't want him to think he kept that team going. Obviously he fools himself if that is what he thinks. He needed to be reminded of that. Last years team had some great talent. Hunter is a remarkable young man and there are many other seniors who cared and had talent. Chris just happened to be the first one who came to mind. I used the word pathetic to stress the word pathetic that he used. So to last years team I apologize. To tigersfootballDCHS2 get a grip and get behind your former teammates.

:thumb: exactly! Iknew why you wrote that post.

  13. :) Dekalb Tigers and coaches. I know the odds are stacked against you in this game. Macon is a good team. However, anything is possible. You must never give up, no matter what anyone says. Go on the the field with your head up and come off the field with your headup , no matter what the outcome is. Winning is nice, but its not life. As long as you guys got the satisfaction of knowing you done everything for you team that you could that is all that matters. I don't really understand football much, but I do support all of DCHS sports and have been to most , maybe all ,of your home games. What I have seen is players and coaches putting all thier heart and soul in the game and never giving up. That is a #1 team in my book and I am very proud of you guys. Also, any other true fan should tell you this also. If they are not true fans you don't need them. They should stay home, even the EX football players that think they know so much. So, fight for this win tigers and coaches ! Tigers never give up!!!!! Go DCHS :)
  14. As a former DeKalb football player, I can say that this team we have now is PATHETIC! I know they've had it hard this season and all, but the middle school team could probably take them. They have NO size, speed, nor strength. All the talent in DeKalb Co. football graduated last year and we couldn't even pull it off then. So no way, I put Macon up by a bunch. I've been to a few DeKalb games this season, and all I know is the coaches we have now better pull their heads out of their butts and study a little on high school football. Putting your 280 pound lineman in at halfback, and a 270 pound defensive lineman in at fullback isn't going to get you anything but embarrased. Stunts like that are uncalled for in high school football. They need some new coaches, and they need some now. If DeKalb wants to ever win another football game they need to figure a lot of things out. And letting junior pro coaches take over the reigns is not cutting it.

:) Hmm, So, all the talent graduated last year. Did you get to play the game or just stand on the sideline ? Well, maybe you should coach them if you think you know so much. Oh, I forgot , you can't coach them. You can't even have anything good to say about your team. How PATHETIC !!!! The guys on the team this year have heart and that is more than I can say for you!

    Go Tigers!!!!!

  15. This post is not dumb.

While DeKalb may have had a bad year there are many circumstances that have led to that.

These boys work very hard each week! You never know what might happen.

It takes a great deal of courage to come out and put on the black and gold each and every Friday night after the year these boys have had.

They have more courage and more heart than a lot of boys on winning teams.

It's easy to play on a winnig team - it's easy to put those colors on and it's easy to stand on the sidelines or cheer in the stands for those teams.

It's not so easy for these boys yet they do it each and every week.

Each and every week they show up for practice and they show up for games and they work hard.

This game could be close and may very well be close!

    POSITIVE! POSITIVE THOUGHTS!

GO BLACK AND GOLD! GO TIGER TEAM! HIT SOMEBODY!

 Yes, go get em TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

  16. [

Defensively I think history could be made. This year's DeKalb Co. team has allowed a total of 364-points through eight games this season (that is an average of 45.5 per game). With two games to go I was seriously wondering could they give up 500 in a season and would that be the all-time record.

    catfish

 These guys don't need to be made feel any worse than they already feel. Does it make you feel good to hurt young men's feelings????? What a big man you are! These guys have worked very hard this season. Go back under the rock where you belong catfish....... ..............................

  17. I just wanted to take this opportunity to let the folks from Dekalb County know that your guys played a good game. They showed a lot of heart and didn't give up and played all 4 quarters.

Though the scoreboard says you lost the game- You all are not losers! We from White House and the players wish you all the best. Things will improve- stand firm. Your fans were polite. The coaches were polite and professional. You drove a long way to come to our house. I hope we made you feel welcome.

Good luck to you all in the future- Your a class act. You may have lost the game...but you are not quitters- Being a quitter is worse than losing.. ;)

;) Vandyman, Thank you for the kind word to these guys. They can really use some encouragement. They do work so hard. Good luck to your team.!
