This will be a family feud next Friday. I have family member who starts for Maryville, but also Coach Aydelott is a distant relative. I agree that the receivers run very solid routes and the QB can extend plays. The only issue I see with the QB is that he tends to lob the ball during throws. Not quite as bad as Science Hill's QB ,but still lobs the ball some. Also, I just don't think SC can handle the speed of the d-ends, of Watson and Spivey. I believe Watson will be on the Qb all night, due to the size of SC left tackle.

Im hoping that there is a solid turnout Friday night. Do the Bears travel well, or will they be hibernating because of the cold? I was talking to a high school coach in west tn, and he said the only person who could beat Maryville is Maryville. Rebs-42 Bears-6. Rebels defense and offense just too strong, and are hitting their stride. Also, people need to shut up about ducking, the bears will get a full taste, not some jamboree. WELCOME TO THE BLACK HOLE!

Either way, Maryville will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs if they win out. Because teams will have to come east if they are ranked the same. I just cant believe that the tssaa wouldn't rank the AP number one as the highest seed in their division.

Well I would just figure that when rankings come out, that the highest ranked team who won state and is ranked nationally, would be on top. I mean when (No shot at BA) did Brentwood Academy or any of those teams become better than Maryville.

I mean if these teams were so good, how come they haven't won the past 7 outta the past 9 state championship. Im just saying.

My bad BullyDog, it has been frustrating for me to see people attack the players. Like today i was reading an article from an undisclosed source but a reporter from knoxville, attacked the playing ability of both the left and right offensive tackles from Maryville. Its tough to see that newspapers from your area attack their own area teams. Sorry i got so defensive.

Your lines or you kidding me, are you watching the Columbia Hendersonville game were the big lines of Columbia are just dominating the smaller more athletic lines of Hendersonville. Smyrna/Maryville Like I said earlier looking at the rosters I think Smyrna is going to have one heck of a game.

You think just because you bigger, your better I definitely know that's not true. Ask the teams that Maryville has played that's been bigger then them. Bigger, aslo means slower. Yea, you may be able to move the front line every once and awhile, but can your bigger guys block the guys from the second level coming up. Your playing a team, that no one can guess what they are going to do. Also, if you try to throw it we have one of the best secondarys in the state. It will be a great game though. But just because your bigger, dosen't give you the automatic W.

Sorry for preaching then RangerVol , please accept my apology , and I hope you become a new regular Maryville poster . Have you checked out some youtube videos on Smyrna yet ? I've watched several , and they do have great team speed , and the QB & Bryson will be tough to stop on offense . Maryville needs to limit mistakes and turnovers and keep flying to the ball on Defense & contine to Execute the Offense as well as they have since the " Pep Talk " after the first Farragut game . Go Rebels !!

Ik Gq will have the guys ready to go. Smyrna is really good, but they are going to be hurting without Meadows. I wish him luck in the future. I love being the underdog, I believe it gives us a since of fight. I think our lines will be the key and our passing game. Im ready for Saturday. Go Rebs!!

Nice to have a new Maryville fan on here RangerVol , but I gotta tell you , let's quit worrying about Alcoa , they have nothing to do with the game tommorow ... plus most Maryville fans prefer to let our young men do the talking on the field . Talking smack before the game just fires up the other team that much more , plus it's always a nice thing to show some Class ... believe me , Coach Gaylor , and Coach Quarles would prefer anyone with any ties to Maryville to always represent their School with Class .

Well the reason I keep askin is because Alcoa was the almost the biggest and fastest team we played. Also Im not trying to talk smack. Im just trying to do research on the positives and negatives of Smyrna. Its really hard to compare each team when Ive nvr seen smyrna play. So im not trying to be classless. Just trying to get the facts.

But how do they compare to Alcoa after the way Alcoa played today.

Well Alcoa rolls again, great job guys. Now how can you compare Smyrna to Alcoa? If yall can give similarities and differences that would be great.

And Baylor is not as big as Ensworth.

Im just curious, but how did Ensworth beat Smyrna. I mean from what i see on tv is that if you stop Ensworth run game yall win. Also Ensworth seems to be having trouble with almost the same offense Maryville runs.
