  1. Hypothetical. Player A mad at Player B. Wants to punch Player B. Player A waits until Player B has a breakaway to goal and then punches player B, resulting in the denial of a goal. Player A hits Player B substantially hard enough so that Player B cannot punch back. A - no fight; B - violent conduct, yes; C - One game suspension for denial of goal-scoring opportunity?

After answering that tongue-in-cheek hypothetical - on a serious note - what are examples of "serious foul play" that would result in 2-game suspensions? "Serious foul play" sounds substantially different from fighting / violent conduct.

Hard work beats talent, when talent is playing Madden.

LOL - you keep repeating that mantra. As if all those highest talent-level players aren't hard workers and are inclined to take a night off or something when they play your school. They are outworking the "hard-working" kids as well as outperforming them.

I can’t wait for CPW to beat Ensworth annually for years to come. Ricky Bowers knows he messed up years ago passing on Wade and I’m looking forward to him being reminded.

He lives rent-free in your head, it is clear.

The one that gets violated the most is the part about 1st contact. The student has to contact your school first according to the rules and yet I have watched just about every D2 AAA and AA school (and a couple of A) have coaches, parents or other school representatives go up to kids' parents and introduce themselves at games especially in Metro middle schools. Heck, I have watched it done by public high school folks too.  Blatant violation.

Parents are not limited by the rule for obvious reasons, but coaches doing it is a considerable problem. Also, the TSSAA has seemingly decided to tie its own hands insofar as investigations go, since the only way they will pursue a rule violation is if it is reported by a school against another school or against itself. So any number of violations never make it "through the gate".

Well he is from the Dilfer tree and I am sure the TSSAA  is happy about that. He can show them boys how to bring in players without getting busted. Gotta hide them text messages and make sure mommy and daddy come to Nashville with their boys. No doubt he has a pipe line in North Nashville.  Can he catch up with the Chattanooga boys is the question?  Of course in 2025 we heard over the weekend at the championships they will become CPA’s problem so Baylor and McCallie don’t need to worry.

"But I think now, it's Jamie Graham's time and not Trent Dilfer's time." This was a very intelligent comment to make in order to separate himself from any of the chicanery that happened while TD was at Lipscomb. He doesn't need that baggage.

Trent Diler my arse, this is ALL on this year's coaching and athletic department.  No one else.  To be transparent, most winning programs have skeletons in their closet and/or walk a fine line hoping they haven't violated the vague TSSAA guidelines.

Dilfer created the toxic culture that wrecked the bus at Lipscomb. Totally on him.

  7. 113 career TDs

    129 career INTs

Career completion percentage of 55.5%, Best-ever single season was 59.8%. That would rank him 30th of 34 QBs in the current NFL season, and that was his BEST season.

So glad that clown is gone from TN HS football. Based on the way his college career is going, though, he may be back sooner than we think.

    Again, scrub.

I am not concerned about recruiting as it goes on everywhere but when the member schools of the TSSAA vote 85+ to require that athletes sit out one full academic year before becoming eligible, the Board of Control should honor that request.  If done correctly there is very little way for schools to compete against Baylor and McCallie.  Schools like St. Andrews Sewanee and Webb School have not decided to fund football like the above-mentioned schools but if they do, they will become competitive immediately.

This is the problem. Allowing public school votes to determine anything that independent schools do is backwards and ludicrous. Tennessee independent schools should completely break apart from TSSAA and form an association that serves their own specific interests. VA and NC both have private school associations, and they both have a number of boarding schools in each. There are ways to address the unique needs of independent schools without giving unnecessarily outsized influence to a group that has ZERO interest in the success of independent schools. Wake up, folks.

Yes indeed it does.  However so do the arts, athletics, and spiritual parts of the school.  All should be striving to be the best they can.  Its not an either or. Never understood this attitude.  Are you ok with your science dept. not meeting expectations as well?  Excellence should be the goal through out the school.

Not at all okay with any academic department not meeting its expectations - and that was essentially my point - the academics come first. The remark I replied to made a strange connection between a high school football head coach's salary and the level of tuition. This is not Power 5 football.

If you wont pay the HC a competitive wage then why are the parents expected to pay a premium tuition?

Gee, I don't know - maybe academic preparation for college adds to some of the value included in the tuition? Just a guess.

  11. No one - literally no one - should be surprised by their team getting shut down. Would imagine their other fall sports will soon follow and perhaps even in-person school, All you had to do was look at their student section (and Hendersonville's) last Friday. Packed in like sardines and ZERO masks. What an absolute failure of administrative leadership at both schools.

Good to see SportsGuy22 still in his denial phase. Some people never learn.

You must understand that Freedom and Security are inverses. Both good things, but inverses. You cannot have both. You my friend, along with your comrades, have picked security. Your kids will not be playing football this year.

You cannot quote Littlefinger and be taken seriously at the same time. It does not work that way.

Because my wife works there, I already knew about this report. Ironically, she and I agree that it virtually means nothing. It assumes people with county mandates are staying in their own county all the time. We all know this is impossible! People travel to and from other counties daily. So, this does not account for taking the virus to another county or bringing it back to your own county, mask mandate or not. It’s simply another chaotic numbers game study. Good try though!

You are desperate to justify absurdly foolish behavior.

This is a obviously not true, unless you are disagreeing with all the daily media reports of growing cases in certain places that have the mask mandates. You cannot have it both ways. If you believe that the mask mandates are working everywhere, then you must say that most all the media reports are false then.

Sit down and learn something. Your credibility on this is ZERO. Just. Stop. Bloviating.
