  1. I'm sure the rest of the region would LOVE for that joke of a man to be the next coach. You'd be replacing shady with shadier. DeVinner.......lol
  2. He would have been a good one. Stud youngest son coming up too.
  3. Hmmm.....so your panties are all ruffled because I quoted something that was said to me? That makes perfect sense. 😒
  4. So when one of the assistants looked me in the eye and said that he would be taking a 10 to 15 thousand dollar pay cut to stay at Giles and that he didn't know if it would be worth it, he was lying? Yeah, ok.........
  5. This is simply false. Any system that pays supplements based on salary percentage pays more to coaches than base supplement systems. It doesn't take but just a few years of teaching to get to what many systems pay.
  6. He sure did, told me those EXACT words. Said he would make about 12 to $15,000 less as head coach at Giles. I guess he was lying. ðŸ˜
  7. Ok, just playing devil's advocate, but if pay scale isn't a problem, then why did one of the assistants turn down the job because he could make more as an assistant with OC at Buckhorn?
  8. Cat's been out of the bag for months, unfortunately for GC and the kids, OC felt the need to do a little grandstanding and sabotage the process further by dragging his feet to the very end. 😣
  9. I suppose that's a rumor the powers that be didn't want out yet.
  10. That's what happens when family members get hired before the job is posted. ðŸ˜
  11. Wow, the man gets mad about OC's resignation leak and now must be mad about the new coach leak (got it wiped off the board). They gonna have to get it together in Giles.
  12. Sorry Giles, I thought that was common knowledge to anyone that knows anything about OC or his coaching past. My bad, I'll ask for permission before revealing anymore "secrets".
  13. He needed to get back to Bama (where he used to coach) to get his years in for retirement. That's the motive......and it is a big school.
  14. Considering OC has been roaming around in his Buckhorn gear......I'd say you're right.
  15. So Giles should be expecting to lose to S.H. in year two, right? 😄 <Insert but we beat him in the playoffs joke here>
  16. Good for those kids, at least they now have a proven leader steering the ship.
  17. I didn't say it was a better job, or that they had more talent, just that it's a great place to consistently win at, due to the talent level and size of school. I think Spring Hill is also full of talent and will have no trouble getting back in the win column as soon as Tur....... uh, I mean the new coach is in place.
  18. The job is Turchetta's if he wants it.......from what I've heard.
  19. I'm pretty sure that the principal and Hickman aren't on the same page as to who to hire. I was told that your boy at Mt. Pleasant isn't who was recommended for the job.
  20. I didn't necessarily say they have had talent to sign D1, but the ability is there. Harlan, before his issue, was a D1 prospect. Tiny Richardson, who got stolen away by Ensworth, is from there. Marco Dailey was a special talent, not sure where or if he signed anywhere. He did bring in some Mr. Football awards. I saw their basketball team play recently. They could easily compete in 12-AA, and that's without Harlan. Athletes all over the place there.
  21. Mt. Pleasant has produced as much D1 talent and had as much success as the majority of 2 & 3 A schools in this area. A coach would be crazy to not want to coach there.
  22. From what I've seen from both guys, they are very similar. Both are defensive guys that like to use a power running game to move the chains and eat the clock.
  23. Hasn't Turchetta coached at Pitt (with Johnny Majors), Wyoming, Memphis, Kentucky, etc.......not sure that a Vanderbilt stint makes you "more experienced".
  24. Everybody's trying to get the heck away from the dictator that's running that system, that's what's happening. She knows absolutely nothing about athletics, or anything for that matter. However, Coleman is a good hire from what I hear.
  25. No doubt about that. I can't compare it to other parts of the state, but it's definitely one of the nicest in middle tennessee.
