  1. Shouldn't these rankings be based on results? With that being said the next question that comes to mind is what results? Well going off what I seen on results Tate Robinson is the best hands down based on results. He has won a state title and places or won at the national level in folkstyle freestyle and Greco.

  2. I proved my point, I don't have to get on here and act like a little kid. Just so you know turbo weighs around 150 but it makes his team better with him at 152 and gage at 145. Now I understand why everyone talks about you wrestling cod.

Rabbit is the Bradley tournament that big of an event to crown your prized pupil the number 2? What has he won besides Bradley?

  3. Bray, Ghouse, Hamm, Bosken is there any others(knepper)? I just was looking thru these rankers/rankings and noticed that all of these guys have "TRANSFERED" one time or heck in some case several times. I would like to see you guys rank the rankers. I thought about asking you to rank them over the past years but there would be serveral years that one if not all five would be ineligible. So cupcake, sommers, all you old fat men and "coaches" get on here and rank the ranker/transfer.

1 Bray (even though he has tranfered 27 times.... he does the rankings for FREE)

    2. Hamm (knows big guy wrestling but has a small watch... transfered 26 time)

    3. Bosken(young dumb and well young... transfered state champ?)

    4. Knepper(ohio wrestler? ok just do the team rankings... transfer U)

    5. Ghouse (lose the fanny pack and you move up.... once a transfer always a transfer)

  4. Help me out here Sommers! All the experts have transfered how many times? Did Bray have to sit out a year.. heck what about your boy Boskin or Ghouse and even Hamm how many places they been to wrestled or coached. I was just thinking all the "TRANSFER" talk had died down, and all this ranking talk is hot topic(but who the heck is doing the rankings "TRANSFERS")?. This one for example The Great Bray has transfered how many times? Is it time to have these grown men follow the same rules?

  5. Ahhhh, don't say that. Let's make Scottmike-taketop & co happy!!

House used to be SBA some 10 years back. It's a limited short term senior moment thing.

DID HOUSE HAVE TO SIT OUT A YEAR AFTER HIS TRANSFER TEN YEARS AGO? I KNOW THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY BUT YOU CANT MOVE TO WHATEVER SCHOOL YOU CHOOSE TO!!!

  6. If you call sitting on a bike and making half of it disappear a triathlete, then ok,,,,I call that magic unless you are the seat! With any luck he crawled back under his rock,,,and he will never attack another kid to keep the attention off of how worthless he really is,,,trust me,,,this is my PG version. I'm sure I've made my point and stand clear,,,I can drop this....

    CC,,,sends...

Well now you see... dang it! When you have a point you have a point no need in attacking a kid! I was just passing on that before you toe the line you might wanna get your cardio up, but hey just a sugguestion from the stands. I understand that you once ran the notorious DA MAFIA, but how long ago was that?

  7. Wise One,,,cute but not so smart to knowingly referee to an ex army ranger and green beret as a navy seal,,,but I feel you making light of that,, so lets be very clear: I don't have an issue with anyone on this site,,,save one person,,,and he knows exactly who he is,,,and he knows at a cellular level what will happen if we ever meet in a cage or a dark parking lot.

    CC,,,sends...

Now Now Cupcake.... Since your retirement to soddy you are starting to show your age and it also appears that you have put on a few lbs. Dont forget the other guy is a triathlon so be very careful! One last thing do they have water aerobics workout there in the center?

  8. What is this? Silence from the Sir Ghouse, maybe he missed this question from BCB <_<

Sir ghouse, I too heard this rumor , so it ain't so?

Let's just pretend that Mr Watson puts a knot on the all American , just pretend, do you think he then goes to 130?

    Bcb iii :flower:

  9. Soddy vs. Brandon match results

145- Lewis (sd) loses by dec 12-26

152- Darren Smith (sd) loses in OT 12-29

160- Alexander (sd) pinned by Clark Glass (Br) 12-35

170- Henry (sd) gets major dec 9-1 12-39

182- Reno (sd) gets pinned 12-45

195- Brett Ervin (sd) receives forfeit 18-45

220- Swanson (sd) receives forfeit 24-45

    Final- 24-45 Brandon

    Breakdown...

    - Brandon wrestled without, from what I heard, stud of a 106 pounder and no one to take his place.

    - Soddy wrestled without state champion Jacob Stevens at 113, and bumped a 103 up to fill in for him.

    - In order to pick up the slack from Stevens absence, Soddy forfeited to Fargo champion Rossi Bruno at 126, bumping everyone up from 126 to 152. The bump made the score look much worse than it could have been if Lewis and Smith had wrestled their weights, but it was a smart move by henry, as he was going for the win and not a close loss.

    - I'm pretty certain Brandon only forfeited at 195 and 220 to save their kids for collins hill... or to make the score look worse than it already was. Regardless, I think it's safe to say Ervin and Swanson would have gotten pins. If anyone else saw Brandon's 195 and 220 pounders I'm sure they would agree.

    Conclusion...

Although it's a pretty bad score, Soddy had a legitimate shot at beating Brandon (or at least making it a close score). Stevens in the line-up is a possible 9 point swing in itself, not bumping Lewis and Smith is a 12 point swing (Very likely bonus points there as well), and 195 and 220 is 12 points for Soddy either way.

So with a little math and ALOT of imagination... the score might as well have been 33-34, with Brandon still coming out on top. But hey, I'm just throwing this stuff out there, a guy can dream, right?

Well, well, well.... this is very conflicting from the story I got! Now trojanman12 I dont see the legitmate chance to beat Brandon. I'm sure soddy will handle everyone rather easily in the state of TN and maybe get in the bottom of the national rankings, but Brandon is a top ten team in the county every year.

  10. What was the Soddy vs Brandon score? I was told they didnt win a match other than forfeits once the match was out of reach. What weights did Collins Hill wrestle jv guys? I was told they inserted one jv guy to wrestle watson and then bumped the next few weights up a weight class but wrestled varsity guys.

From what I hear the Soddy/Brandon match was alot closer than most thought. Also was told that Soddy is now ranked in the top 50.

  11. I noticed that Tate Robinson (CBHS) is still undefeated @ 119# in the cadet division of Greco Roman.

Is it true that Tennessee only has 8 wrestlers in Fargo and 6 of them are from CBHS? How do Tennessee wrestlers expect to get signed by the top college programs in the USA if they don't compete in the largest & best youth wrestling tournament in the world?

Why will no one answer these questions or does no one know the answers? I agree it’s sad that only 8 wrestlers are competing at Fargo. Also not a single Chattanooga kid WOW!

  12. who is that kid?

anyway thats a funny post for that pic. :roflol:

i love the venue. very easy access from the interstate. love the parking and i didnt have to pay twice for it when i left to eat chinese at the mall. :popcorneater: walked in the front doors and sat right down. brought in my own candy! drove home in 30 minutes. :thumb:

WOW, not sure how anyone can love this venue. What a poor showing of wrestling fans we have in middle Tn! It is a shorter drive home for me as well, but as a spectaor it will never compare to the round house!

  13. Big,

I do not understand your comment about what baffels you. My constant stance is exactly what?

My stance on recruiting is not really in this discussion anyways, since Raider76, a person who I have known for more than way over 30 years asked a question. I can answer that question. I will give him the information and he can decide the truth of it.

But moving into a city and being recruited are two different things, would you not agree? I mean, that was your first question. If you have some specific information, that you can back up, then share it with someone who can check it out. I think Raider76 has the relationships at Baylor (even with out the help of mtnrasslin) to determine the truth one what I have for him. I will give him names on both sides of the equation. You have that?

    Tex,

Again my stance is both programs benefit from being very good at what they do!

Your stance is that one recuits and the other does not? As far as your reference to moving into a city and being recruited different, are they? What enticed the family to move?

  14. Big,

I really do not know who has or has not moved into the area specifically for wrestling, but I imagine it has happened. You may think they do not recruit, but that is not the information that I know. They do.

I have said it before and I will repeat it now, I really do not care if a school does recruit, let them. The schools do not own the kids. Just realize that the teams make up are going to be different when you pick and choose over a much larger population than the typical public school has. Not complaining, I am just stating my opinion on it. Teams wrestling each other is a coach's choice and I have no problem with that either. I would like to so the match up as much as anyone, but I do not care enough to even think about it.

    Tex,

I ask you this, has Bradley ever had a transfer? We both know the answer to that. Yes they have benefited from transfered wrestlers. I say good for them and good for the kid that wanted to be somewhere and got that opportunity. What baffles me is you constant stance on one school recruiting. Again my belief is that neither school that starts with a B recuits.

  15. Raider76,

I do not want to embarrass any involved on here, but if you send me an email I will tell you the exact specifics on one. The who , what and where of the deal.

    Go Bears.

Tex, Has Bradley not had kids move into the area for wrestling over the years? I think both programs get kids from other places. Now I dont think either recuit. I'll go so far as saying if my kid (who is very young by the way lol) had the love and desire to compete year round on the wrestling mat I would look at both places. Both Bradley and Baylor are rich in wrestling tradition! I will say its a shame they dont wrestle each other.

  16. You're talking to the wrong person. TSSAA sets the schedule because, again, it's their tournament. If you have a complaint, contact Mark Reeves at TSSAA's main office.

    Coach Blair

Blair, You seem to alot of the answers even though its not your tournament. So i'm sure thats why your recieving all the attention. Bottom line it will never be the same at the cow palace. Bring it back to Chattanooga, and before any of you start I live closer to Franklin than chatt. From a wrestling fan.... its simply no where close to the days at UTC.
