  1. You need to list what area of the state you're in.  It's a great idea to start here but as the parent of an older player, I will tell you that over the years,  I've learned you have to search more than here for a team.  I have had to ask the local coaches for referrals, watch the paper sports section, google search " basketball travel team or aau teams" with the name of my area in for some that are close.  I've also facebook searched as there are aau teams with their own webpage and facebook page.  Most of them have open tryouts.  If you've missed those send them a message and ask if they'd take a look at your daughter.   It takes a lot of time to find the right team that needs your skill set and has an opening, particularly as you go later in the season.

Good Luck to you.....we love aau!

  2. Cumberland Co. gets beat by Baylor . Baylor best guard  went to East Hamilton .Cumberland Co. has trouble beating good teams . With all their players back i thought they were going to undefeated for a while .

Thanks for posting.  I wondered how that game went.

  4. You mentioned that stone won the freshman/sophomore tournament but it needs to be noted that they won with juniors playing.

Actually it doesn't "need to be noted".  I suggest you check the roster online.  There were no juniors playing during the freshman/sophomore tournament.  I was there.....were you?

  5. This is a big game for sure, should go down to the wire with the mighty Warriors.  You guys are a tough matchup for us.  We didn't play real well against Stone last night.  I think Stone plays their best against the Lady Jets.  When I see them play against CCHS, it puzzles me how Stone loses so many games to others?

This was a great game with SMHS ahead for a large part of it.  Indeed late in the game they did falter.  However, having watched them all season I think they're a team in progress. They've had multiple coaches in the past years and now have one who knows what it takes to win and is invested in them.  There's a lot of talent on that team too.  The younger girls (JV took the Freshman/Sophomore tournament) and the older girls are working hard and improving every game (as seen last night).  I predict their time is coming and in the meantime I love watching games like this one where both teams put it all out there.

Looking forward to this game on Tuesday too.  Cumberland County has been playing well lately; we have all our players back and relatively healthy.  Stone played their best game against us on Friday, but that is expected in your cross-town games every now and then when everyone knows each other and plays their hardest and best.  This should be a classic game, I know CCHS will be trying to make it a fast game - not sure if that is best though, but that's how they roll - press, press, press.

Stone played a GREAT game against CCHS on Friday.  JV lost by single digits in OT.  Varsity lost by 14 in a hard fought battle.  That team has improved significantly since last season!!  I agree CCHS v. White County will be a classic.  Unfortunately I won't be able to go :(.
