Seems  to me the dogs are playing their bet right now. Home court advantage no way Meigs will make the state tourney this year. 

Hampton folks, is there a radio broadcast for the game online?

Local radio station is WBEJ 107.9  not sure if they do any streaming. Heck I cant even get it at my house on a good day too far up in these hills.

Getting close to game time and in a few hours MC qb steps out of the phonebooth and turns into superman i hope. I've been watching this kid for years and no way he accepts the other qb role. Probably the best all around athlete Ive ever seen. This game will be close but I see number 1 as the difference maker. Big games are when players like him excel. Ive watched the Jones kid and he is exceptional so I mean no dissrespect at all.

Dogs will come with a lot of Kryptonite....trust me they are headed to Cookeville!

Most of the time the visitor bleachers are only needed until halftime because the Bulldogs have the game well in hand and the bleachers seem to empty early. Awful long and lonely ride home...speaking from experience.

The Landers rolled tonight on Warrior field.  Final 30-14. Good job single A!

Why is this game not on TV like the other one was?

Not to worry this one is practically over. 58 37 with 2 20 left. UC#1 in the state? Don't think so. OVERRATED absolutely!

If the Nashville area is the ONLY place to have basketball championships then move it to Vandy! Get out of the GLASS HOUSE! Pretty much everyone has trouble with depth perception at that wretched gym! I can also agree to let the Privates play in their division and the public schools play in theirs. And here you go TSSAA that will be more money in your pockets.

We owe Hampton for that 1960 State Championship banner hanging in your gym ....

Does anybody know why Camillo didnt start or play that much tonight? Is he injured?

Game was very sloppy I agree and yes there are several rumored attitudes off the court and on the court. "I" ball has to stop and reading the papers to see who scored the most doesnt cut it. Maybe some of the boys sitting on the bench need more playing time. Sometimes a good shake up can do some good. But of course that is just my opinion. 

Well I got to come down from Lander Land tonight and saw a couple of very good games. Refs were off as usual but wouldnt expect any thing less. 3 kids taken to the hospital is 3 kids too many. Hope all of them are ok. Things do happen when rivalries are played. Refs actually let it get out of hand. Threw coach Dugger out. What was up with that? Didnt look like he even got a warning. Bulldogs looked out of sinc at times (boys). Maybe a little too much "I" team ball. Season is very early with plenty of time to "fix" that. Bulldogs are still the team to beat. Camillo is usually the shooter on the team but wasnt a factor tonight. Guess good defense rules again.

Evidently not. Why didnt they change defense a little earlier tonight? I mean come on, 42 pts????

First region match of the year.  Landers are coming off 2 big wins while Cosby is reeling from 2 beat downs.  It would be easy for the landers to be overconfident going into this game but I feel they should take it very seriously.  Avery and Happy Valley were not the strongest opponents in the world.  Cosby lost to 2 teams who in my opinion are better than the two opponents we have faced.  Happy Valley especially did not impress me.  They were severely lacking in athleticism and discipline.  Aside from Garland and Hicks,  they didn't really have any weapons.  My point is the Landers better not think that just because Cosby has gotten steamrolled the last 2 weeks, that they won't be a formidable opponent.  I think with Ole eagle at the helm, anything can happen.  He does a good job of motivating his boys.  I think Cloudland will win the game hands down if they come prepared to take care of buisness.Lander Land was hopping again last night. Good crowd and they came out the 2nd half and played ball. I hope the injury bug stays away this year, this could be shaping up for another great run for the Landers. I know it's really early but it could be another 9-0 run when we roll into Bulldog territory later in the year! Best of luck boys and give it all ya got!!

Talked to a coach from Grace at state tourney and he said Meigs was 15 points better than Hampton. Said both were very good.

I sure wish Hampton would have gotten in the 1st bracket and was really hoping to play Meigs. But now we will never know who was best now will we?

Everybody can sit back and analyze what was good and bad about this game. I also have opinions. Many things I would have done different but not one of these opinions on here will win us the game now. Congrats Bulldogs you all had a good run. Everyone can be very proud of what you all accomplished. At least you didnt have to recruit to get there. Good luck to the seniors on this team. All 3 were great leaders on this team. May GOD richly bless you all!

At least the best single A public school

don't know how HHS could shoot this bad, i know that Smith has them boy's shooting on that machine every day during school. At least 200 shots per day.They even have freshman practice during school. The school is pretty much centered around boy's basketball. I just wish that the administration was as concerned about girls basaketball and all the other sports as it is boy's basketball. Hampton used to have girls basketball practice during school and also had weightlifting during school. Now it seems that the only important sport is boys basketball. I think it is great that the boys get to practice every day in school but i don't think it is fair to the girls or any other sports. why can't all the girls have shooting practice during school and weightlifting for all athletes. My daughter plays basketball and she is just as important to me as the boys are to thier parents. But apparently not to HHS's administration.

 

No secret the boys sports seem to be more important. Was told by a couple of employees there that the boys get most of the money.

I'm all for private schools getting the boot out of Division 1, but comments like this just make us look stupid, and it ticks me off. LEAD is a PUPLIC SCHOOL guys!!!!

Lead is a Charter (magnet school) it is 2 yrs old and had 5 seniors and 7 juniors. They are an Academy which means they recruit. How else would you have all these juniors and seniors??? And will be very tough in the coming future.

All this talk about splits and private schools is just what it is basically just TALK. TSSAA will do whatever they want and will especially follow the money. Plain and simple "money talks and BS walks" according to TSSAA. Here is something to think about: I have played sports and coached numerous sports teams but what if tomorrow all sports were taken out of school? Would everyone be as passionate about our childrens studies? Would we strive for a 32 on the ACT? I truly think we ALL miss the point. It's the childs education that carries them thru the rest of their life. Yeah we all play 4 qtrs but what about the 5th qtr, when the real world slaps them in the face and sports is no longer there? Can't do much with the powers to be (TSSAA) but you can help your childs education. Would you rather have your child score 30pts or have your child score a 30 on the ACT?
