  1. White House has alot to prove to me. Pitchfork your talking a big game that I don't think you guys can back up on the court. I see the district being a toss up between Goodpasture and Macon Co.

  2. Last night CA looked like they had no one missing to me Kop... It was a great game by both sides. Few cheap shots in the 2nd half, but all in all the refs keep it under control. looks like there is now one loss to GB in the 'Sonnabends era'. :roflol:

  3. 'As far as they want to...' from a district standpoint perhaps, they are obviously one of the top four or five teams, but put them and their crude game up against an Alphabet School from Nashville, CPA, MLK, etc and the gulf in class becomes ENORMOUS!!

I saw our CA team play in Regionals this past two years, and the first year in particular (against CPA) the quality of play from District 9 was superb. They are loaded with club travel players and have rosters 18 or 22 DEEP. CA lost in overtime 3:1 with a team that was in many ways much more loaded than this years. In addition last year, the CA team that dominated our district couldn't get by MLK despite leading three times in regulation and then overtime. MLK went on to hit 8 immaculate pks and win the game in a shootout

Without antagonizing the game tomorrow night too much more, it's apparent that GB are a 'streak team', dominating some games and getting beat usually in the ones that matter. Don't get me wrong, CA have always struggled to play a good game against them (yet have yet to lose in Sonnabends era) and would have preferred a game against Harpeth who play a similar game to us, but to suggest the brutish practicality of GB will take them deep into the post season is ridiculous. CPA playing at home at Trevecca would put 10 goals past you if they so desired. Davey Taffe would abuse that flat back line of yours.

That said I feel GB are the form favorites going into tomorrow night. In addition they have nothing to lose (as they are expected to lose again) and CA is going to be fielding a 'shadow' team, mainly JV players - tomorrow sees five seniors missing because of academic awards banquets and the standout central midfielder broke his leg last night and is obviously unavailable. CA will be fielding 9 freshman starters :(

I expect Greenbrier to bully their way to a narrow victory and proclaim themselves State Champions in waiting, showing a level of education that matches their playing style :-b

    Go Cougars.

Hard to believe anything that was stated in bold i'll have to see for myself :ugeek:

  4. 'Domed'.....? Is that the Robertson Co version of DOMINATED? I am guessing P7P4 never won the redneck spelling bee :)

'Domed' is a slang term meaning dominated usually said by many basketball players today; gotta stay hip as my kids say.

  5. The CA quarter final is now going to be on the soccer field at the complex at 5:30, not 7:00 on the football field as originally posted.

Now there has been some clarity in the standings, are there any surprises? White House seem to be going around their business quietly and efficiently. I saw that Harpeth bounced back fro the CA defeat with a 4:1 away win at Greenbrier on Monday. Are GB for real or did they flatter to deceive at the beginning of the season? Chartism have shocked a few people by taking second in the West, but IMHO they arent close to as good a team as Harpeth or CA.

CA has been devestated by injuries since the Harpeth game, and look like they will be playing the tournament without 4 of the usual starters :( There is still enough talent on that squad to hurt some teams though.

That all said let's start making some predictions.

I personally see the four semi finalists being White House, WHHeritage, Harpeth and CA. Cheatham and Greenbrier remain outside shots.

    Your thoughts?

I'm almost certain that this was the only game in the mid-state played on Monday because of the rain and flooded fields. In my mind this game proved nothing the players on both sides couldn't pass the ball through the puddles led-alone dribble through them. :o Greenbrier seemed like they weren't even trying, I expect them to come out more focused in their quarterfinal.

  6. I agree with you on PoY. He can dominate the game without even scoring. He is a one man press and sets the table for his teammates to eat. Not really a question if I was voting.

I agree no question about P.O.Y, but how about all-district? Im not exactly sure how it is selected.

  7. woooahhhhh wooahhh wooahh, Westmoreland beat White House???? holy smokes, I'm telling ya Westmoreland is playing some ball, congrats on the win eagles, WH, u guys need to get your act together if you want to be region champs. (pitchfork) ha ha ha ha :roflol: I do recall pitchfork saying WH will hang w/ CPA... jeez, they can't even win 9AA (what a stoooooooge) :roflolk:

This district is becoming unpredictable with the exceptions of greenbrier and goodpasture both in a battel for 6th :roflol:

  8. Oh my goodness these predictions are OUTrageous!!! I haven't seen a team play like Collinwood since the 95'-96' Bulls... MJ in da house!! That being said Collinwood loses by 32. :roflol::roflol: and this district is WEAK... just sayin

I don't know my friend C'wood has some real Ballas, C'wood by 3 on a buzzer beater from half court anything is possible :roflolk:

  9. HaHaHa! They got lucky and now you think they're the shiz nit! The Devils will beat them in the rematch at La fayette! I like the Devil's chances against those teams rather than Macon Co.'s (who will get one of them before White House will).

pitchfork your nuts! Do you really think your beloved devils can go into La fayette and come out with a win, I think not. The devils must have played Grace(scoring leader of 9aa) and Billenstine pretty well considering they only had 17 points combined. When the devils travel out to La fayette I would think Grace and Billenstine would play better in there own gym. pitchfork get a clue.

  10. Westmoreland?

I know right! This team beat a Greenbrier team that could have been 3rd in the district last night and the night before only lost by 15 to sycamore...but I still think this team will be no better than 5th in the district.
