  1. This region is brutal- only two teams are going to make it to state from a region where the basketball is very good. Looking at some of teh other regions; what the heck? Some of them are soo weak! Alas, this is happens every year, someone who should be in the tournament is not.

That said, I am picking the Macon Co upset right now! Think the tigers are gonna get it done on Saturday. Everyone else in 9AA takes it on the chin, thank you for playing but it is now time to go home.

  2. I predict that pitchfork will predict White House winning the district. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well, pitchfork's bluedevils got it done last night against greenbrier. good game, white house couldn't seem to pull away. 3rd for the Macon Co faithful and the BDP on saturday.

Goodpasture and Westmoreland lock horns tonight to see who gets Sycamore

  3. Sycamore.. Undersized? Really... Biggest/strongest kid i havei seen in the disctrict is 53 on sycamores team.....

I really think everyone might have pfigured out how to beat the 1-3-1 now too :)

Not saying they dont have size, just compared to White House and Macon County they seem a little small. White House has one of the longest tallest teams in the District.

Don't get me wrong, I would not want to bring the ball up against Froedden- he is a menace to ball handlers everywhere! Sycamore may be small but they are tough- that is why I said I think that 9AA could win some region games. Say what you will, WH 1-3-1 is tough, Macon Co adjusts to just about anything you do, and Sycamore just gets after you.

I dont think 1 successful game vs 1-3-1 is enough to say you have figured it out.

Should be alot of fun this weekend! Predictions anyone?

  4. Survivor is right, district 10 is at a whole different level of competition than district 9. I'm calling a clean sweep in region by district 10 :roflol:

Why a clean sweep? You don't think the #1 seed of 9AA could win a game against the #4 seed of 10AA? Last time i checked the top 3 in 10AA were ranked but the #4 was still a mystery. I think you underestimate the 1-3-1/shooting ability of White House. Macon county is long and athletic and well coached- Coach Welch is one of the best. Sycamore is undersized/presses and pressures the ball as good as anyone; but deep in rotation and that wears people down.

    Don't sleep on 9AA

  5. Did one of the WH players get ejected in this game?

    No, no players ejected.

Since I came down for the game I will put in my 2 cents worth:

Isn't defense about crawling in someone's jock?

Foul count was lop-sided the 1st half and was more even the 2nd half.

Making shots always helps the cause- SHS made more shots.

I will stir up the "hornets nest"- who is Player of the Year and Why?

  6. Wait kiwidad, not sure that it was easy. Came over and saw the game- WH was up at half and the war eagles were in foul trouble the whole first half. I thought Sycamore showed alot of heat in the win. SHS hit 14 or 15 three-pointers if i counted right. Shot it really well, especially #25 and #35.

Should be a really good tournament at Vol state- question is can Macon Co beat White House in the rubber match? You know what they say, "it is tough to beat a good team 3 times"

Can't wait till the end of this week.

  7. Whitehouse only beat sycamore in the 3point department. Score wise three points better in the first three quarters and 4in the fourth.

If you happens to notice the stats Froeden doesnt do it all by himself..

I know the move you are refering to with Sycamore's PG- it is called a Euro step and it is not a walk. I don't have a dog in this district but, let me say: if that is a walk then the reach around that # 23 from WH does is a foul every time. Are you saying the refs don't see any of it?

  8. You don't shoot buzzer beaters when you are up double digits, that's just not right. I don't care if you have a 7th grader out there it's just not something you do. Just hold the ball out and wait for time to run out

I think fans, not coaches or players talk too much about who is gonna win easily or who will win district. If you asked the coaches of District 9AA they would probably say that they expect it to be a good hard fought season and that there is no easy game- wouldn't you fans of Macon Co, White House, and Sycamore agree. I dont think anyone saw Westmoreland upsetting White House, Macon Co beating White House at WH, or White House beating Sycamroe by double digits? iF you did, please contact me and I will pay for the trip to Vegas.

It should be fun the last 2 weeks of the season- good luck to all the teams in District 9AA

  9. Wow, sounds like i missed a good one. Well, that shows that Macon is for real, congrats Sycamore on a tought district win. I'm guessing Macon played 1-3-1 tonight? Does anyone know who hit the game winner for Sycamore?

I believe # 2 the point guard hit the game winner. Looked like Macon Co was gonna win this one but got to give Sycamore credit, they never quit and fought to the end. When do Sycamore and White House play?I dont think they have played yet have they?

I know White House beating Macon Co at Mcaon Co was last year, just saying that it could happen again.

  10. David Lipscomb beat Maplewood tonight 42-39. With about a minute to play and the score either tied or Maplewood up by 1, as a Lipscomb player was dribbling down the sideline in front of the Maplewood bench, the Maplewood coach reached out and touched the ball! Technical foul. Lipscomb hits both shots and goes on to win the game. Unbelievable!

Wow, that is a strange thing to happen! Did the coach do it on purpose or was it an accident? Tip your hat, Lipscomb High gets a big one.

  11. Moron? My statement was to dispute the remark that there was no way that WH could beat Macon Co. at Macon Co. And indeed it was last year, the point was that it has happened before and therefore could happen again.

Please keep the forum civil, most people on this thread leave the name calling on the play ground.

Anyone in 9AA can be beat on any given night. Macon Co. is probably the favorite at this time since they get to host Sycamore on Monday at Lafayette.

  12. Macon is one of the toughest places to play in the MID TN area... The odds of WH going into Lafayette and beating Macon are pretty low, but it would shake up 9AA pretty well :roflol:

I believe that WH went into Macon Co. and came out with a 21-18 win. Anybody disputing that?
