  1. Would only be a positive thing for the game as a whole.

Problem is: T$$AA is too darn stubborn and backwards to implement the thing.

Just like the enlarging the coaching box... they are always a day late and a dollar short. (usually they are short and trying to wring it out of us!)

  2. Community met the Metro schools... and the Metro schools said- "take that!"

Wow, heard the Community had a double digit lead in the 2nd half and choked it away. Never thought that would happen with that team. Saw them play in the district and region and thought they could handle the Metro pressure.

Good run Vikings keep that head up as you made your school and town proud.

  3. Wow, would it be fair to say that the Nolensville/Creekwood winner was a shocker?  Creekwood won their regular season title so what will be the #4 time of them and Fairview locking horns?

What about the Hickman Co/Central Magnet winner? Is that a shocker? Sounds like this game was a defensive slugfest! 48-47???? Or is it 2 teams that struggle to score?

Sounds like it is Community's to win in the round 4 game with Central Magnet.

Our public schools are a form of socialism. Do your students go to a private school? Misinformation about politics has no place on here.

Misinformation about politics? Where did you get that from?

Sounds like you are just looking for an argument. Yeah, I can tell our public schools are doing so well ( I am a teacher in case you are wondering- 24 years). That form of 'socialism" seems to be working so well. Tell you what, ask some teachers how to fix the problems and get back to me.

Nimrods don't deserve time on here so please quit the sh!t show.

Didnt Tullahoma just get a new coach 2 years ago? What is up down there?

You would think that would be a stable job...good community etc.

Anyone in that area care to comment? I don't know that area well.

  6. I got out and came to see Mr. Basketball last night... I know he got 18 or 20 points at least.

Has Central been playing that way on defense all season? What is it that they "hang their hat on" so to speak?

Is it defense? Because based on the Fairview score and last night I would say they aint bad at it.

Thought it was going to be a route for Marshall County in the 2nd half..boy was I wrong. I was sitting near Hickman County boys coach and apparently he knows Central's coach cause he was calling out the adjustments that Central was making and was pretty accurate on the offensive side of things.

No need to wonder. The district wasn't what is has been in past years and over all I would say just bad outside those two teams  .  Fairview was far and above the best team in it. they beat Camden all three times and it wasn't ever really close.  They(fairview) lost a head scratcher to Lewis early in the year but that was it.

Camden has had more talent but these kids play tough at both ends and everything in between.  Proud lion fan no matter what happens next.  Safe Travels everyone

BTW  if you say burning daylight one more time I'm gonna let you have it..

     Saddle up....

  8. You could very well be correct on this..

Community playing as good as anyone right now. Central may not beat Forrest as they have won the previous 2 meetings (tough to beat a team 3 times). Community vs Giles Co matchup is wierd as they split the regualr season.

I think it is Nolensville's to win or lose though

  9. D,

Which Tigers are you pulling for? Marshall Co or Central Magnet?

Right now there are all kinds of possibilities as nothing is set in stone. Central Magnet pulls the upset last night. Got to admit I did not see that coming.

Giles Co beat Community? Forrest plays Nolensville tough.

I think Nolensville is a lock for #1 but after that it may be up in the air.

  10. It is Nolensville, Community, Marshall co and then CM, Forrest, Giles Co all in a toss up!

Don't know what is up at CM. Last year they would get in you and play hard nosed Man to Man defense.... not this crew. They look like they don't want to play defense a lick.

Nolensville is the class of the league...good at every position.

Marshall County has the Johnson kid and one other solid player but Johnson can carry a team with 40 every night.

Community looks like the trendy team to be with Nolensville in the championship game. They have guard play and 2 good post players.

Forrest and Giles Co I have not seen so I can't speak to them.

  11. Iceman2000,

I dont know what rules you are thinking about but a coach at a TSSAA school gets 15 days in June before the Dead period and then all you can have after the dead period is open facilities until school starts.

When school starts a coaching staff can work with 3 players  a day and that is all the coaching that can be done until the season kicks off. Coaches do not legally get to caoch their team in the month of July! If that is happening at your school you best be careful about it cause that is a serious violation.

  12. Agreed, it should be Nolensville's to win or lose this season.
Can anyone challenge them?  Which of the other teams will be there? Predicted order of finish?

Here is mine: Nolensville, Marshall County, Community, Central Magnet, Forrest, Giles County

Community brings just about everyone back so they should be solid. Good posts and solid guards.

Marshall County has KJ and the other guard but do they have anything else?

Giles County has some guards back but lost their best post player (sophomore) transfered to Columbia Academy.

Forrest brings back some talent but lost their best guard but should have soid post play.

Nolensville is loaded but did lose a guard to injury (should be back in Feb.), one guard moved, and the word is Wharton is not playing?

Central Magnet lost 4 seniors (Hamlett is the important one) but have a good core back.

    What do you think?

  13. that guy can coach!

"Want to win more games....recruit better players"  John Wooden

All coaches look better when they have good players but he is a teacher of the game and will change with his talent. I think you could see more zone this year from him than in years past.

He might run more sets too.

  14. What was someone saying about Forrest?

    After 2 games played:

    Forrest 2-0

    Nolensville 1-1

    Marshall Co 1-1

    Central Magnet 1-1

    Community 0-1

    Giles Co 0-1

Could be a wild ride in this district.

Thanks for calling me on that. I had it correct on paper but poorly transposed it. Correct me anytime you see a mistake. Thanks again!

No problem. I just know the coach at Central Magnet and he mentioned that they won a tight one @ East Hickman.

Someone said that Creekwood picked up a transfer. How does this change their team? I know Dodson left so there goes a big scorer from their team. Were they young last year?

  16. Ok, so What does WH-Heritage have?

What are the differences in White House HS and WH-Heritage? Are they competing for kids now or does the county line pretty much decide that?

What does each do well? When I followed this district before Heritage was single A. Used to follow it years ago and now I am back in the area.
