Final pitching records for the 2 you reference: Dupree 5-4....Thompson 6-0 with 2 no decisions. Your right....the other kid (Thompson) is okay (understatement). You should actually see him in person instead of just judging by what someone has read. He doesn't have the required last name to get the respect he deserves. Fortunately for all these kids none of you will have any bearing on their present or future success. As for Bobby Towne, he's a good kid a good pitcher. Is his record truly representative...I think not but I don't think any less of him. Walker Valley was strong at the plate all year long and their run into the state tourney doesn't surprise me. Hats off to them for having a good year. ...and yes, my kid plays for the Cyclones and I'm very thankful for everything George Koontz and his organization does for the boys who aspire to play at the next level. Sure, it's expensive but the instruction is top notch and they give your kids a chance to perform in front of decision makers at the college level. There are numerous former Cyclones playing pro ball and in D1 programs; Kyler Burke, Mike Minor, Cory Gearrin, Zach Stephens, Garrett Baugh, Wes Hodges, Jeff Burke, and many more.....

Must be a tough situation for the Farragut seniors. It's never fun to be the ones who let the streak end, but they played very well this year but injuries and luck weren't on their side this time like in years past. Still, great run boys it was fun to watch. Just didnt have the pitching this year to hold those leads they had today. Gonna be cheering for Bearden to win it all now!

I would have to agree they did not have the pitching this year. Although they did have the pitching if a couple of arms had not been Phil abused over the last two seasons. Just my opinion.

Question of the tournament...If WV loses game 1 tomorrow will Towne throw game 2 on 1 day of rest...AGAIN. I've got a grand that says he will. I hope, for his arm's sake, they win game one and he can have one more day of rest before he throws another shutout. My Pirates are out, so I'm rooting for the Stangs now.

I am going to say Towne will be in relief if needed. He will start the second game if necessary. Just a thought.

Should be another great day for baseball as Farragut tries to avenge their 5-0 loss to Arlington earlier this year.

Typical Farragut! Come tournament time they always seem to make it work. They hate losing... Got to respect that.

I think it's hilarious you guys still think spillthebeans is from Ooltewah. Just look at all his previous posts. He is not from Ooltewah and is clearly just messing with all you guys. Seems to be working too. Again, I was at the game and it was a pretty mild-mannered game as these games go.

Simply put "spillthebeans" has no class. Ooltewah is the better team but they did not win. The coach can think what he wants and can be correct (they most likely did give the game away) but you don't print what was printed, that is a total lack of class as well.

 

At the end of the day, Warren is still playing and Ooltewah is not. In my opinion, losing on friday (substate), even if it is a blowout, is better than not playing on friday.

I am surprised however warren beat Cumberland . However I guess cumberlands coach had thrown his lefties arm out. I remember reading a post about that.

Do not let an umpire dictate the game. A good pitcher or hitter will make the adjustments. If you let them dictate the game and get to you, you are beat. Hey, good lesson for the future. Adjust to the umpires zones.

Especially when Ooltewah or however you spell it ootawhas coach has his teams back and knows they lost on mistakes! If you guys need a pat on the back to say how good you played then CONGRATS you did so good let me give you a cookie. You are below average and that's the bottom line. Look at your schedule? So what you finally made it out of your district and won a region game which will be your last WIN of the season I am sure considering you lost 15-0 to tully. Face it man Ooltewah beats you 9 out of 10 times and we know they would win a spelling contest.
