  1. Tonight's game pretty much wrapped up the regular season championship for the Mustangs. The only way they can finish second is if the Chargers beat them by more than 10 runs tomorrow. Congratualtions Mustangs on your big win. Way to hit the ball tonight. Hopefully you will keep that up throughout the rest of the season.

  2. The best pitcher in the Chattanooga area this year will be Wes McIntyre of Soddy Daisy. He's made grea improvements over the summer hitting 90-91 on his fastball with amazing change up, breaking ball, and control. Being scouted by Bama, South Carolina and Clemson.

He is a good player, but 90-91 is ridiculous. He is only a junior right?

  3. I agree this will be the way the district winds up if McMinn can keep everyone healthy.  Dont know much about Rhea or Cumberland though give me some info please.  Cleveland might not have the same pitching as last year without Carver and Bradley is not going to be that good this year either.  So i think that McMinn wins it followed by Cleveland.

    Go CHEROKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumb

McMinn's #1 slugger is already out for awhile with a broken finger. He was hit with a ball during practice and broke his middle finger on his throwing hand. Hope he can recover quickly. Tanzi is a key player for McMinn.

  4. you cant forget the neew catcher they have added to their roster. Aaron Short. he has a cannon and proved that losing Jarred CAsteel didnt mean a dang thang

Well i'm sure this is probably Aaron talking about him self if I know how he is, but I personally have seen both guys play and I would have to go with Casteel over Short anyday. Short may have a good arm, but it takes him forever to get rid of the ball and he can't hit anything like Jared. Cleveland may have found someone to replace Casteel, but Short aint even close to filling his shoes.

  5. Good luck to my boys in East Ridge! It sounds like you guys are going to have a good year.

Ya, it sure does sound like it from the way they are talking. I'm ready to see if they can back it up on the field!

  6. Sounds to me like East Ridge is feeling really good about themselves this year. Except I can't figure out what they got that is gonna be so good. They had an O.K. team last year, but I thought they lost a ton of seniors. Yall are bragging about all your awesome pitchers, but they didn't shut anyone down last year. What makes you think they can do it this year. Yall almost remind me of Tellico Plains the way you get on here and run your mouths. Last year they had about 2 wins at the end of the year. Yall better be careful, you don't wnna end up like them after all that talking you have done.

  7. No pitcher from East Ridge shut down Walker Valley last year. The guy was throwing meat but it was an off day for WV. It seemed like nothing could go right for WV that day. They had many defensive errors that hardly ever take place and just couldn't get their sticks going. East Ridge can say it is because of there wonderful pitcher, but I have to disagree. WV will love to see the same pitcher again in the Wildcat Classic, or in the other game scheduled against them.

  8. A good way to know if it came from McKenzie is by the name of the field. Toby is a very generous man, but he also likes for everyone to know it. I have not noticed any signs on the baseball field mentioning the McKenzie name like there is on their football field. The man who deserves all of glory is Mike Turner. Thats why the sign at Walker Valley Reads "Turner Field." If he really gave Bradley as much money as I have heard, I wouldn't doubt it if it became McKenzie Baseball Field. Kinda like the UTC Arena is called McKenzie Arena.

  9. I believe that in high school baseball, a pitcher is considered dominating if they can hold almost any teams to 2-3 runs a game. I believe Kyle will not allow many more runs than this in any game this year. That is if his team plays defense behind him. Kyle is a very good pitcher and will always give Cleveland a chance to win when he is on the mound. The only problem is will Cleveland be able to give him the couple of runs he needs to put them ahead.

  10. Cleveland will have a hard time with everyone in their district. They only have 1 dominating pitcher and he cant win every game for them. Cleveland lost a ton of people due to graduation and moving to other schools. I have to go with McMinn County in this district. They have the ability to score a ton of runs with their line-up.

  11. I can't see how Central can be so sure that they can beat Meigs. I mean Meigs is the one who put them out of the district tournament last year and they have almost everyone back. I also believe that Meigs will be pretty good this year.

  12. Well WV pretty much lost nothing from last year. A right fielder that should be replaced by Matt Douglas very easily. They lost 2 pitchers pretty much thats it. WV has a lot of arms in their arsenal, but one big concern for everyone is gonna be Chris Jenkins. He has decided he can't stay away from baseball and should help WV out a ton this year on the mound. The question for WV this year is their pitching. Offense and Defense should be good if they play like they did last year. I believe it will be very hard to beat them with the talent and experience they have in the 05 season.

  13. Walker Valley won the tournament last year in a championship game against Chattanooga Central. Central jumped out to a big, early lead(8-2), but WV came through and won the game(11-8). It was one of the most intense games I have ever witnessed in my life. Two great teams battling it out on the field, there aint nothing better than that!
