  1. Defending champ CPA has to be considered the favorite to repeat. Expect to see them ranked #1 when the AP pole comes out this week. Four starters have D1 offers and Jalen Lindsey is considered one of the top players in the state as a junior with 15-20 major offers including 8 SEC schools. I have seen them play several times this year. They are good, but by no means unbeatable. East Nashville had them down double digits and on the ropes a few weeks ago but Lindsey got hot and pulled them through. CPA really pushes the pace for 4 quarters. It will take a team with a group of great athletes (like East) to handle their pressure.
  2. This should be a dynamite game. Both teams are well coached and know how to play in big games. I see this one staying tight all the way. If CPA can maintain their poise and make free throws in the final 2-3 minutes of the game I like them to pull the upset in a very close game. CPA will want the ball in Roman's hands (#4) as she is a solid ball handler and great free throw shooter (ask Macon County). Regardless of the outcome, both teams should be commended on outstanding seasons.
  3. Bradshaw was in the training room after the Maplewood game and seemed very disoriented when he came with his parents to center court for his Senior Night recognition. He was not able to speak to the fans. On Blackwell, it's my understanding he has been ruled ineligible by the TSSAA for the rest of the season. I would assume it has something to do with his transfer, but that is a guess not a fact.
  4. My first ever post. I've watched a significant number of 10AA games this year, but have not seen the 9AA teams. 10AA appears to be a very strong district. Many great athletes. I would expect 3 or the 4 teams from 10AA to win on Saturday night. I still thing the Region title will come down to CPA and Maplewood. After the beating CPA delivered in the District final, I would expect Maplewood to play with much more intensity and effort with the game being decided in the fourth quarter.
