  1. Greeneville has to be considered the favorite based on 2015 title and their 25-1 record against a quality schedule. I do think it will be an entertaining and competitive game. Strength (Greenville offense) against strength (CPA defense). CPA has been able to limit GC and CCS to very few shots on goal. We'll see if that trend continues or if Greeneville has the fire power to get through the back 4 and a very talented keeper. The forecast is for a very warm afternoon. Interested to see if Greeneville's depth is the difference in the second half.
  2. Coach Martin and staff are worth a touchdown. I have game going to OT and CPA winning by 1 pt. in a game dominated by good defense. Just a hunch.
  3. I hear this argument alot about CPA in boys basketball. I don't hear this complaint in football. What kids in football has CPA taken from other non-DII schools?
  4. Agree 100% with Bluemist. The CPA team I watched yesterday was not an AAU team. Outside of Blackwell and the 8th Grader who else would have been in Haywood's top 8 rotation? Those teams play again and Haywood wins again. Bigger, better athletes and more depth.

CPA 49-40 final. GC.made a big run late to cut it to 2 but CPA held on.

I have not seen any of the 11AA teams play. If you have, you were clearly not impressed. Looking ahead, whoever comes out of Region 6AA caught appears to have caught a break with MLK, East and Sycamore all on the same side of the Region 5AA bracket.

GC & CPA win easily. Hard to handicap SH and Camden. Camden has a much better record but has not faced the competition SH has. I'll say top 2 from each District win playing at home, but SH winning would not surprise.

Who wins Spring Hill v Camden Central?

CPA vs GC round 3. It's really hard to beat a good team 3 times in a season. I'll say GC by 2 with the game going to the last possession.
  10. Add East Nashville to your list in Middle TN

Saw the GC / CPA game. Two well coached and evenly matched teams. GC fell behind double digits in the 3Q but kicked it up a gear to tie it with about 2 minutes to play. GC had a couple of chances to grab the lead and possibly win it but turned it over in transition with about a minute to play and CPA capitalized. Expect a rematch in 12AA District Championship game and another tight game.

If GC wins Fri night it would be only be a minor upset and not a big surprise. GC and CPA may end up playing 4 times and it's hard to imagine a scenario where GC doesn't win at least one. Based on a few common opponents and records, it appears GC and CPA are likely the favorites to go 1-2 in Region 6. Upsets will always happen, but on paper those 2 appear to be the ones to beat. Looking down the road a bit, which is what makes these Boards interesting, MLK is lurking. No team in AA in Middle TN wants to play at MLK to make it to the boro.

What does GC have to do to pull the upset at CPA Friday night? How do the top two in 12AA stack up vs 11AA when they get to Region?

CPA and Giles Co are 1a and 1b in 12-AA. We'll know more on who is a and who is b after they square off at GC on Tuesday. No one else in the the district appears to have much this year. If anyone has seen both teams play would be interested in thoughts on the game.
  15. I think 12AA boils down to CPA and Giles Co. I watched CPA easily beat JPII tonight to improve to 5-0. They are still young starting 2 Frosh and a Soph, but expect them to win 20+ games. Depth will be a challenge as they only appear to be 6 or 7 deep. The first GC vs CPA game in January should tell us a lot about how 12AA is going to shake out. Have not seen Spring Hill but they may be the 3rd team to keep an eye on.
  16. BRENTWOOD AND OAK RIDGE I THINK.
  17. How many starters does Elizabethton have back from last years team? I saw them play in State last year and was very impressed.

Even though Cascade is playing extremely well, I don't see Cascade having the athletes to stop Bell. They may send 2-3 girls at her, but in the end I think she gets her 25 and CW wins by double digits. If Cascade could get Bell in foul trouble, they have a shot to pull an upset. The CPA / GC came is an interesting one. Two contrasting styles, but very evenly matched teams. Expect this one to be tight into the 4Q like the previous 2 games. I would not be surprised to see the outcome decided by free throw shooting in the last 2 minutes. Two other keys in my mind. Fouls on each teams' post players - #33 for GC and #23 for CPA. Both like to block shots which leads to cheap fouls. If either player gets in early foul trouble it will impact the outcome. The second is offensive rebounds. GC attacks their offensive glass. CPA is not a strong rebounding team.
  19. D12 finish: 1. Giles 2. Cascade 3.CPA 4. Spring Hill Based on past performance in D11 the Region match ups would be: Giles hosts Lewis Co. - like Giles Creek Wood hosts Spring Hill - like CW Stewart Co hosts CPA - advantage SC playing at home Cascade hosts Hickman Co - toss up? Common opponent across many of these teams is Community. They beat CPA by 30, Cascade twice by about 10 and Stewart by 13. Cascade is playing their best ball all year. Not a real athletic group, but they play hard. They need #1 and #40 to avoid foul trouble. CPA is very young. Key for them is composure and running their sets. They have good young 3 pt shooters that can hurt you if not defended. Giles is also young. Very quick and athletic freshmen guards . They score off their press and offensive rebounds. Interested in scouting reports for Stewart and Hickman? Expect Creek Wood to win R6 without much trouble.
  20. Looks like Giles Co and CPA have locked up #1 and #2 seeds and first round byes for the tournament. Big game for Spring Hill and Cascade for 3rd tomorrow night. I have not seen them play, but Cascade seems to be improving based on scores. I'll take Cascade to win at home. The District 12 tourney looks wide open. CPA has won 6 in a row, but how will 8th / 9th graders respond to the pressure of playing in their first big tournament? Should be fun.
  21. Giles Co v CPA tomorrow night for first place in this District. Someone who has seen both please give us a breakdown and what are keys to the game. Score prediction??
  22. Both are top 20 national prospects. No accident Calipari was watching today.
  23. I am very impressed with Macon Co. All 5 girls contribute and 4 can handle and shoot 3s. If Macon doesn't win it the team that beats them will.
  24. As a disclamier, I have seen CPA play multiple times this year and have not seen LA. If CPA has early foul trouble they will be in trouble. If they don't, expect this one to be very close based on mutual opponent scores and last year's game. On the floor, CPA's strength is their inside game, Thompson and Legate. It gets harder to make 3's in a big gym with the added pressure of State Tourney so teams with a good inside game have an advantage. Like LA, they are very well coached. Expect this one to go to the wire. Since I have not seen LA, I don't feel like I can call a winner here.
