  1. Big Inning for Lexington, they put a 3 spot on the board in the fifth to lead heading to the 6th inning 4-2.
  2. Andrew Fiddler (Lex) follows Hendersons double with a single up the middle. Henderson scores on a Fielders Choice to 2b to tie the game. UPDATE: Error by 3rd baseman pushes Lexington into the lead. 2nd & 3rd, one out bottom 5th
  3. Lexington turns their 3rd double play of the game to end the top of the 5th. 2-1 DeKalb leading heading to the bottom of the 5th. Lexington has had men on base the entire game, still looking for that big hit with men in scoring position. UPDATE: Russ Henderson leads off the 5th with a double!!!
  4. Dekalb leading Lexington @ Blackmon 2-0, heading to bottom of the 4th
  5. Live from the Boro: Well here at Blackman High School, Cak V. Lexington is about to start! CAK fans are acting like they have never been out of Knoxville before. They may feel out of place because there isnt a moonshine still in sight and no long bearded mountian men. Im sure they would feel at home is someone broke out the Banjo and played a little DELIVERANCE tune for them. They are abnoxious already, it will be nice to get them out of here early----gotta hate new guys!
  6. Well it's GAMEDAY fellas! It's been fun stirring the pot, and some quality banter has taken place. Now we get to sit back and let the boys decide it all on the field. Good luck
  7. I said act like YOU'VE been there before, not, act like Farragut when they went last year. Now I really think they will be gone before lunch on Wed!!!
  8. Yea, Lexington dyed their hair last year and went 2 and a Q. Polk Co all shaved their heads after their sub-state win this year, take a guess how long they will stick around! Teams that act like they have been there before, play like they have been there before.
  9. What do I really know about these teams? Well heres nibble: -Gibbs is not the powerhouse they were last year and their bats are suspect. -CAK is decent on the mound, but decent wont get you much in the Boro. -Polk, well it's been forever since they've shown their faces this late in the tournament. -Dekalb has an advantage in pitching, they will be tough. Good balanced team -Spring Hill: Favorite to win the whole thing, solid in all facets of the game. But will the tough bracket take a toll on that pitching staff? I bet it will and thats why I say they fall short again. -David Lipscomb is always well coached, and prepared. Although they dont have the debth in pitching this year. -Lexington this bunch is more well rounded this year with the bats: they are primed for a run -Milan has three good arms on the mound, none are legit #1 starters, more like good #2's. They are big, they hit big, but can they play defense? (SLEEPER)
  10. Gibbs V.S Spring Hill----> This will be a epic rematch of last years Championship game. Spring Hill wins David Lipscomb V.S Milan----> Lipscomb takes this one over a big hitting Milan bunch. Lexington V.S CAK----> Lexington is too much for CAK Polk Co. V.S Dekalb Co.-----> Polk is just happy to be there, Dekalb advances Predictions: Spring Hill comes out of the top bracket---Lexington wins the bottom bracket State Champ: LEXINGTON
  11. -Gibbs(Defending State Champs) -Spring Hill -Dekalb Co. -David Lipscomb -Lexington All back again from last year, this should be very competitive.
  12. The only bracket not yet posted is AA. Comment on the brackets(once posted),match-ups,favorites and potential suprises. At this point its CAK; Gibbs; Dekalb Co.; Spring Hill; David Lipscomb; Polk Co.; Lexington; Milan------> Good Luck
  13. Maybe you should teach your son a little about perseverance. Challenge your son to demonstrate some leadership ability, especially being a senior. These young men dont need Big league facilities to form the comradery quality teams possess. This is indicitive of the "Free Agent" mentality kids today have. There are some great life lessons your son will never learn about overcoming lifes obstacles because you have already taught him to quit! heck, lets all throw in the towel, quit trying to improve our own situation and move our kids east to play for Farragut!
  14. Plays for Chester Co., if it's the kid I'm thinking of he looks like a good ballplayer.
  15. Dyer Co. beat Lexington 5-2 on Thursday at Pringles Park. LHP for Dyer looked very good. Mixed pitches well and kept most hitters off balance. Lexington's defense was there downfall! Andrew Fidler was effectively wild, working out of jams most of the day. Four defensive misques by lexington opened the door for Dyer Co. who didnt not let the oppertunity pass by without capitolizing.
  16. We know about most 2011 players, but what about the 2012 or 2013 guys who are under the radar? I'll Start with: 2013 Drake Parker-LHP;CF- Union City 2013 Tyler Yarbro-CF- Lexington 2013 Calib Powell- Milan
  17. Bartlett was supposed to be down this year? What about Collierville?
  18. Montel Johnson transferred to Adamsville this year, is he pitching well?
  19. Well, the power numbers are down in Lexington. Russ Henderson is still hitting bombs(4), but the rest of the team totals only 7 combined. The overall hitting is still good, but the less powerful bats have taken a toll on this group.
  20. This year the homeruns are down due to the new bat standards. What players are tearing it up anyway? Who came out of the blocks red hot? What players are underperforming? What teams are getting it done, and who isn't? I'll get it started, -Stephen Gant has lost his last two starts following a strong start, although Riverside looks to be strong enough to get back to the State tourny. -No Pitching: North Side got upset this weekend by a very beatable Scotts Hill team. -Good Hitting: Lexington won 10 in a row, then dropped two on Saturday.
  21. List Top 10 West Tennessee 2013 players; Where they play; What they do to set them apart for the pack
  22. Memphis area kids. There is quality in the area, just not a large concentration that would draw enough interest to make it a viable baseball area. Know of the Dulin Kid, but not the others. May be some good talent there, where do they play? The top two 2013 guys Ive seen in West Tenn are Drake Parke LHP/CF Union City and Tyler Yarbro CF Lexington.

  23. High School stats are a poor indicator for future ability. Dont get wrapped up in this kid hit 20 bombs, or that kid was the Ace of the staff. Much to the dismay of many of you, West Tennessee pitching is subpar, comparitively speaking. Sure there are quality arms in West Tennessee, but there few and far between. The misleading part of this is: A good pitcher looks great in West Tennessee; A good hitter looks spectacular! Scouts at the next level have few oppertunities to truely evaluate talent here due to the lack of competition. Sorry folks, but its the truth.
