Yeah, I have to agree with you, based on yesterdays performance...but yesterdays performance was not a very good representation of his basketball skills and ability. He has played much better games, and usually hits those little jumpers. Still, he's a great kid and his home town loves him to death, very very proud of the young man One thing for certain concerning Fountain, even on a bad day, he gives you every ounce hustle he has, I love that! lol

I think your right, if they play the next 2 games like the way they played Wartburg, I think they'll be holding the Gold Ball. They play Lake County tomorrow and the winner plays Saturday for the big prize. Good luck to your PC team, I hope they play like they did today

I'm not one of the Wartburg fans that said we would win, even though I really had high hopes. Perry County played awesome ball, and we couldn't drop one in the ocean, was a very impressive win and I congratulate the PC Boys, I hope you go all the way!...but dude, smack talking after a beat down?...no class...none...whatsoever...Be as respectable as your boys on the floor were and don't tarnish what should be a fantastic showing, with smack talk....classless...

Sarah, I don't think anyone here is dissing the middle school coach, but I doubt he has ever had the opportunity to coach at the college level, if he has had an opportunity like that and passed it up, it doesn't say much for him having any smarts, lol..I wouldn't doubt that he has been offered a high school position, if he hasn't yet, I'm sure his time is coming. I think Jason Davis would get a call from any colleges long before the middle school coach...

Both are Juniors, one of those hadn't played in a few years, but has made major improvements in each game. Tall doesn't necessarily mean they have "game" just yet, but they aren't bad by no means, they will be a driving factor in next years team for certain. (Wartburg loses 2 Seniors this year, one of the two doesn't play much, so watch out for next year, this year is just another building block toward a gold ball..or even possibly gold ball number 2!...I hope! lol) To the posters who mention point averages and how bad Wartburg has ran the score up...well, it isn't because they couldn't, because there have been games they could have ran it up and Coach Layne wouldn't allow it. What does a 133-33 score prove? only thing it proves in most cases is you like to show boat :s One reason I think Layne likes keeping games close is, for times like these. There have been some close games in districts and regionals, and I suspect there will be at state. I think the kids have confidence in close games because of it, and I think it gives them an advantage when the game comes down to the wire. I am also a realist, Wartburg is the underdog in this game...but I wouldn't count them out

I think Fountain will impress you guys, yes he is tall, but he plays outside alot and what I love most about his play is, he never takes a play off, if he is on the floor, your getting everything he has. A fast paced game actually suites him pretty well, he has long arms and deceptively fast, can have a steal and headed the other way in the blink of an eye. I look for their only Senior starter, Richardson to be key, he's solid inside and can easily get hot and change a game fast. The pg Justice is quick as a cat. It's going to be a fun game to watch, if Wartburg intentionally tries to slow the game down it'll surprise me, but that could be just what they try to do, I suppose we'll wait and see. I have confidence in anything Coach Layne opts to do. Good luck to you PC guys, if you win this game, I hope you win it all...but I'll be cheering for my Dogs! lol

I'm thinking along the same lines as you are Bulldogplayermom, I think that would be a really nice starting 5, but I expect JD to not start Laughter, Hamby, and Carter. My bet is he will take a weaker starting 5 in order to have a rotation at post. Wait! I just now thought about Mathis! She will probably be subbing in at post. Laughter and Carter would be 2 nice inside players, I would consider moving Hamby to some guard play, as she has good footwork and speed, and less size.

I'm with you on that Outlaw, I think it'll be OS and Oneida battling for the top spot. BUT, it wouldn't shock me to see Wartburg repeat the same kind of season as this year. They're losing some really good seniors, but I can also see how they could be just as strong as they were this year. Losing #24 Davidson, that will mean more minutes for #23 Laughter, #10 Hamby, and #33 Carter on the inside and I'm not so sure that's a huge drop off. They lose #30 Kidd and #32 Lowe outside, but they have #12 Phillips and #2 Hurtt still there with another year under their belts. The freshman class this year was loaded with talented guards, so they could end up still being a major factor. Not predicting anything like that by no means, just saying...it wouldn't be a shocker I can see #12 putting next years team on her back.

I'm a Wartburg fan, have been for years, plan to be for years, but I have to say....college coach? That's a little far fetched...sorry mossygrove, but that goes beyond wishful thinking, lol

I'm just hoping that one of these east Tennessee teams can bring it home! I'll be cheering for Wartburg and Cloudland all the way!

Read back to the beginning of this in the posts, there have been plenty of Wartburg fans said what you wanted, just not me. Why not me? because your dead wrong about what the guy said, if that "insults you", then I can understand why your so intent on believing something that isn't true. One more thing, if you go to Church where your sunday school teachers tell you that they heard that little bald guy calling those kids the names you said before, I think I would be hunting a new Church, because they are going on hearsay. I'm not posting anything further on this discussion, you obviously believe the entire town of wartburg conspired against your kids and nothing is going to change that.
