Very respectful post. Always enjoy the Hendersonville rivalry. Classy program and coaches. Those kids from metro that have moved into Beech and Hendersonville are primarily looking for better schools and lifestyle. Kudos. Gallatin has had its advantages in the eyes of others through the years as well. All have been legal.

Which team?

A variety. Do you coach travel? These aren't McDonald's all-Americans, just a group of kids learning the value of hard work and discipline. Many have jobs and a couple will play in college somewhere in time. One is getting DI offers for football. The freshman was fun to watch and has a bright future.

I'm in Gallatin the most and I know they are in the weight room, playing AAU and working on individual skills. Watch out for the freshman PG.

Some good points. There are kids at Gallatin putting in work daily. How well do you know these programs/kids versus all others you comment on across the state?

I know there was one kid on the freshman team with good size but raw and seemed to want to shoot the three and not play in the paint. MJ and Gallatin had best Freshman squads. MJ had solid guards and a dominant post and Gallatin may have the best freshman player overall.

Pretty well as Freeman and Eden were already focal points.

SC also loses Taylor, Anderson and Baldwin who would get several minutes on most teams. They return Freeman, Eden and Zazzaro with good experience. Gallatin returns everyone and should compete. Luna will have those kids ready to play.

MJ will be solid. Good young group moving up. Gallatin should be better as no graduating seniors. SC will be very good again the drop after next year.

These are good specific statements. Reed needs to stay in the paint this game and not try to go for every block shot. Freeman did not play well vs Independence and must be consistent from here out. He could be the difference maker particular on Patrick Good.

No credit needed and don't need you to sweeten it up. There been some nice players in this area before and will be in the future. Teams have made many sub-states and state tournaments but it is not a hotbed of talent for basketball. Again, just an ignorant statement made in lumping all county schools together with talent and style of play then say Station Camp is good. Well... is Walker Valley good or Bradley County better or are we comparing Shelby County. No comparison. Silly statement.

The county and district is overall down this year. No boosting here but always proud of our kids and coaches. Several different teams and programs from this area have been competitive at state including Station Camp this year. This is not Metro Nashville, Murfreesboro area much less Shelby County but your previous statement in lumping an entire county together is ignorant. Your rebuttal to "put your grown up pants on" is childish. Your expert opinion on all high schools in our county saying "aren't more than a couple good players there and you play a slow down game in order to make up for not having the talent to compete" is demeaning to the work every program, coach and kid puts in. Station Camp and all other teams in the future should just pack it in, right? I believe I understand where you're coming from but, with the number of schools and students in this county, it is as competitive as anyone else it's size. It isn't the hotbed of Memphis.

You don't even know the county there in. I'm not boasting about any one of them, but I know the area better and to lump an entire county with the statement you did is plain ignorant. I assume only a few teams in the state meet your criteria. Sorry if this seems personal as I'm sure you have an extensive and elite basketball background.

Good luck to 9AAA! Get the job done. Also, I don't think anybody tried to lose much less by 40. That is just silly.

Update?

Gallatin was without the services of two key players but played MJ tough with a freshman getting several minutes. Gallatin should improve next year and may contend for the next few. No seniors this year and experience with depth to come. Need to grow taller in the offseason. SC and MJ will be good again next year as well.
