couldnt disagree more on the defensive strategy against Ramsey lol. Nobody gives him his & focuses on shutting down the rest lol. He gets his thats a given! But not given to him. LA had 4 players in double figures so its not like they just give it to Ramsey. Most of Atnips points comes from trash cause he doesn't have a skillset.

Like someone said earlier, the mvp shows up in the big games & would make a statement tuesday night. Two biggest games Ramsey had 38 &28, Howell had 30 & 26. Howell for some reason doesn't get the respect from dekalb fans. Seems like most the dekalb faithful that post on here is family of Atnip & Sonni.

Unlike some, I dont think MVP has to come from the 1st place team. Ramsey is the mvp no doubt! Just like on the girls side, la is in 1st now but sissom from cannon is the mvp even if livingston does win it all. The notion that the 1st place team gets the nod automatically is ridiculous. Everyone is proud of their own & should be, but if you are starting a team & had pick of all these guys & didn't pick ramsey than your not being honest with yourself.

According to the box score Ramsey hit 3 threes &1 free throw leaving him scoring 24 inside the arc. Atnip hit 1 three & 4 free throws. Scoring 12 inside the arc. Dekalb had 3 in double figures & LA had 4 in double figures. Sounded pretty balanced to me. Ramsey is much more athletic than Atnip which will translate to him getting the d1 scholarship. Atnip uses his body well & when he is allowed to jump into the def causing contact than he is a load. But that was La's fault for not taking the hits & falling. The fast break was a joke, him going away from the basket to run over bubba jolley & no call. I still have LA picked to win the region but they will have to go straight at Atnip & force the whistle. Wondering how the two students got thrown out? I know both & im sure words were exchanged but the guards were on the other end so they didnt have the right to throw them out for yelling unless they heard bad language. Coach Martin should've followed since he was on the floor leading cheers. He was pointing & yelling at Ramsey not about him. Howell was a beast.

Well which one is it? tigerfans2013 -Howell isn't playing well and still has the same problem as he did before he left which is turnovers

They made a good come back & cut the lead to 9 at one point but came up short

Today Dekalb & LA both have chances to make a statement to the rest of AA! These games will gauge where both teams are at. I wish Howell could play so alot of questions could be answered but that is basketball & we will all have different challenges being illness, injury, etc. Dekalb is legit & I think the next time these 2 meet they will both prove to be better than they where last time (IMO better than last years 2 teams)

No doubt they can. Two keys is Hensley staying out of foul trouble & JC handling the press better. LA isnt overpowering anyone, just doing enough to win. I pick JC in a nail-biter, afraid LA's woes at the charity stripe will cost them.

LA got a nice win today beating Alcoa, a good team from the east with a win over mcminn central on their resume.

One thing Ive noticed is the charging calls. If the offensive player has left his feet going to the bucket & the defensive player slides in & sets up after. That is a blocking foul, not a charge. If he sets up before the other guy leaves the floor its a charge. They miss that every time

LA led the whole game but just ran out of gas at the end. Mason had a big game, you could tell Haywood was good but they never got it going. Missed alot of shots but very athletic.

Noticed Haywood is in that tourney, very athletic! They beat Lancaster Christian by 8 then beat LA by 5 while all of LA's football players were out (only had 6 players)

LA was still playing football the week your guys was off. But if you would take Atnip or fullilove over Ramsey lol now thats funny. Howell is your best player! Ramsey has already been district mvp region mvp, 1000pt club & several other individual honors, not to mention the team success that those 2 will never experince! Yall pounding your chest cause Atnip tips in a game winner against a team with no inside play, that everyone else has blown away. Ramsey hit a 17 ft fadeaway to win sub-state, another thing neither of those 2 will experince lol out of their range! Only thing I agree with you on is we disagree.

LA doesn't have to take region from dekalb, its got to be the other way around cause LA has owned Region last 5 years. LA also had Nivens out that game, had been starting & prob LA' s best on ball defender. McCoin's 2nd game back......& so on.... The next meeting between the 2 will tell alot more if you guard is back. McCoin, Ramsey, & Eldridge are all better than DC's best player. That will be proved next meeting!

Record dont mean a thing come tourney time. There is always teams with one loss or undefeated making it to state but most of the time a team with 4 or 5 losses that has been battle tested wins the gold ball. LA will win region again so Dekalb better be ready to go to Chattanooga. Then to get out of Chatt they better not try to run-n-gun or they will get ran off the crt. Does Dekalb have the poise to control tempo? I hope so! Would love to see two 8aa teams go to state. We dont get much respect but district as a whole is getting better.

Dekalb is in trouble without their best basketball player Howell! Some dekalb fans wants to promote their own family members but its obvious who the MVP of DC is. Take any other player away & wont hurt the team as bad.
