Update on Team Formation. We have gotten the teams put together and will be playing our first game in Greenville on August 27, 2011. Falcon Youth Competitive Football will be playing a JV Game and a Varsity Game in Greenville on that Saturday. I will post the time and the remainder of our schedule soon.

The Falcon Competitive Football team will be working a Barbeque Table at the Mt. Carmel Block party this Saturday night. We will have updated flyers with information concerning the team. We have had great success in forming the team and look forward to starting to compete this season. I will post our schedule on here as soon as it is available. Update for additional tryout. The additional tryout for anyone interested will be Sunday, June 12 at 3:00PM at Volunteer High School. Anyone interested in participating or assisting in coaching please plan on attending this session. Our tryout was held Friday night at Volunteer. We had a pretty good turnout, but still need some players. Anyone interested in the Junior Varsity team (ages 9 and 10) or the Varsity team (ages 11 and 12) please get it touch with us concerning the team. I will be posting the team email address on here later today. We are looking at having another tryout session on Friday, June 17 if this works out. Again this will be held at Volunteer High School.

To update anyone interested in the forming of this team. We will be having a meeting at Volunteer High School on Friday June 3, 2011 at 6:30. We will meet at the Football Stadium. Anyone interested in this team whether helping coach or if you have someone interested in participating please plan on attending. The age groups for these teams will be ages 9 and 10 for the Junior Varsity, 11 and 12 for the varsity. We will have a facebook page set up this week that will have more information on it about what we are trying to do. If you need any further information you can leave me a post here. I will be checking it often.

As a graduate and supporter of Volunteer High School I think that we have an opportunity to help the development of our program. Look at the schools we compete against. Most of the surrounding communities have a team that is competing in the Sullivan County League Program. We have a chance to form a team in this league all we need is people that are willing to get involved. I read post after post about how the talent is in Church Hill and Surgoinsville to be competitive. We cannot lay the blame at the feet of the coaches totally. We need to take the next step in developing these young men. We cannot win unless we at first compete. I agree that we have the young men to do well. I have been around them but there is a void in the development that forming this team would help to fill. We have good coaches at the Middle Schools and at the High School we just need to do our part. If anyone is interested in helping or has a kid interested in playing or for that matter knows a kid interested leave a message here. We will be getting more information out about this soon.

Last Varsity win for Volunteer over DB was in 85 and it was the year after Watson Resigned. The next year Coach Watson came to DB. Just before Coach Clark took over. The game was at Volunteer.
