  1. It's pretty obvious you are against WC and Coach M but TSSAA did not suspend him nor did Warren County. Quite frankly, I don't think they would care what anyone else has to say about it. They were fined $500.00. As for players being racially discriminated if you will go watch the tapes instead of just assuming what you think happened then you will see that the coach and players were both being discriminated. It is not only Warren County people that "talk to a player" and say something, it is both sides. A Warren County player did flip a bird but apparently racial discrimination is ok compared to flipping someone off. I'm not sure if I were in Coach Montgomery's shoes that I would keep playing risking a fight to happen involving the players. WC leadership is handling this in the right way. All it is now is people putting in their two cents and saying what they would do. It doesn't matter.
  2. Thank you for clarifying this. There were racial slurs for you that were not at the game and for you who were at the game but do not want to admit it. Shoving a player? Seriously? People can take a rumor and fly a mile with it. He did not "shove" a player. Most of the people on here commenting did not even see the game. They heard the rumors and selectively defended what they wanted on here. Now that TSSAA has seen video proof and heard what was actually said, all the people wanting to defend that there were no racial slurs be assured that there were. I think the bigger story to this is some students showing up a gorilla and banana suit. How does that get past anyone? 6A Baseball wants to get on here and say a white out game is promoting unsportsmanlike behavior but failed to mention anything about Van Buren letting their fans show up to a basketball game in a gorilla suit and a banana suit. Someone that was within school system had to let them through. If they did slip up and got through the gates casually without being noticed then I am sure someone with authority could have asked them to leave. The WC coach did get mad; he is human. He did not lose his temper and did not promote violence. He simply left it. Glad TSSAA addressed this in the right manner.
  3. 14-0? I think it was probably obvious who was the better team after 4-0, 5-0, maybe even 10-0. Congrats on going to the district championship. It sounds as though Dekalb has had a great year and has made a name for themselves in district 8 A/AA. However, I think an elite team, as Dekalb is trying to become, would have called the dogs off after 5 or 6. I've seen top teams in Tennessee, high school and select, win 5 or 6 to 0 in games which could have ended up 15-0. In my opinion, it's just not a showing of good sportsmanship. Try to achieve certain goals after 5 or 6, such as possessing for 3 minutes before a shot on goal or scoring on a header. As I was once told, games make for the best practices. Good luck to both teams tonight. It should turn out for a good championship. Also, good luck in regionals.
