You are right in some of the things you say in your post. Change is good for all of us. I wish there was a way I could change the way I feel about you. I think we both make some good points at times. One point you don't seem to want to comment on is his continuos breakdowns. Do you really believe green is the right one to be teaching SELF DISCIPLINE??? If thats the case that explains the record setting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties this past year. Eagle4 is right! It's about these young men and getting behind them. With that said I will try to be on my best behavior for awhile. I had to vent and pretty much have voiced all of my concerns.

Your statement makes no since on Fitz and contradicts most everything you have said about him but that seems to be the norm for you pride. You were pro green in the beginning and over a short time were one of the first doubters yourself. Now your back on the green bandwagon. Next time you jump off the green bandwagon I hope you don't brake your ankles. No I am not crazy. I am bigger on discipline than you might think. I agree. Thirty years ago things were different but not that different. I was there too my friend. What would your parents have done if the coach grabbed your face mask out of raged anger and dozed you in the ground? Better yet what if it was your son and you stood there and watched it all unfold and your son got up very slow holding his neck? Football is a physical sport but how about asking the Blackmon baseball team what happened to them! Now pride I have got a project for ya. Research how many statewide baseball coaches have been suspended and lost their jobs due to physical abuse to their players. We had one of the most VERY intense baseball coaches in coach Wes Caldwell for fifteen years. He got tossed out of MANY games and absolutely threw some major fits from time to time BUT NEVER laid a hand on any one of his players to my knowledge. You need to wake up. Green lost his job for this once before and still continues to do it. My educated guess is that it will at some point somewhere happen again. You say if Mr.Benny Monroe likes him thats good nough for me. What a dumb statement. I bet you have never even met Monroe but look at his win loss column. Pride I want to win as much as you but more than that we need coaches that is good for our boys. Coaches play a big part in our childrens lives at a very crucial point in their lives. They deserve better in my opinion and I am here voicing my opinion FOR THEM! You didnt want to get too deep in his resume' and I am not going too either but will say eight or nine stops in the past ten years is not showing me how he can turn anything around or impressing to me. Him and Benny's honeymoon didn't last long either.

You are wrong again dumb dumb. The last place he coached at was Carson Newman for ONE year! He was let go! Like I have said, great coaches KEEP great coaches! Ken Sparks at Carson Newman is a GREAT COACH! It did not take him long to figure out green was a dead expense! For that matter it didn't take the rest of the schools to figure it either. Jacquez Smith at Ooltewah played a huge role in green getting that defense award as most INTELLIGENT people know. Fitz and Cook are great coaches and great men! Most of us do hate that they are gone but understand why each had to leave and my family wishes them the best! You have been the hater all these years. Even when we won the region and made it to the quarterfinals three years ago you had nothing but negative comments towards Coach Fitz. It's obvious that you are a disgruntled parent or player and something didn't go your way. Maybe his dad had you locked up at some point. Who knows but I bet I am getting very close! I DO know it takes time. I asked you this once before and didn't receive a response but what in the world have you seen out of green that makes you think he can get us over the hump??? One more thing have you ever seen any other football coach at Rhea County that has made the headlines for misconduct towards his players? As most know he made them in Blackmon too. Your stupidity has no boudaries! Pitiful!

Chance??? He has had SHORT stints in several different places and is currently at Rhea. I think he has had chances.

I just heard myself! My son just called to tell me. We are very excited for him. Hixson is getting a great one in Coach Jason Fitzgerald. We will be following and supporting those Wildcats!

C'mon man! You give up way too easy! Does anybody have any new news on our coaching staff? Is our staff the same and everybody still holding the same positions?

Nobody would keep him on as an assistant! Great coaches KEEP great coaches unless bigger opportunities come up for them. He has been forced out, let go, etc. Why would anybody think he would make a great head coach is beyond me. I seen enough this year! It was a terrible hire!

Nice post. It would help his case with some if he was not always looking for an excuse or laying blame on whomever he can. After reading the herald last night thats what I got out of it. He was trying to sneak in a jab at the previous staff every chance he could. His whining, excuses, and laying blame among what I have already witnessed is not going to get me to buy in to what he is doing here! I also noticed Eaglefan's young man not mentioned one time in the article. Like her or not her boy was a standout and a leader! Was that a coicidence? I doubt it. If a kid deserves something they need to get it!!! PERIOD!

You are right. Some may not make the move because of the money or they have settled in and made home in a new place but there are several of those mentioned that would like the opportunity if it was presented to them. I am sure some would even take a reasonable cut in pay. My opinion.

I did and I'm pretty sure he has too by now. I am sure EaglePride would rather talk to someone who was actually there. Sounds like it has been an ongoing problem with greene. C'mon man! Take your blinders off! Is it really this difficult for you to figure out? Our administration/schoolboard needs to be held accountable if Greene decides to have another one of his meltdowns! I personally am pointing my finger towards them! Our athletic program is getting to be a real embarrassment!

I don't see him even being a candidate for that award if it wasn't for Mr. Jacquez Smith. I bet if you ask Mr. Greene he would probably tell you the same. I have come to terms that you and I will seldom agree. That is ok. One thing is for sure. We both enjoy friday night football here in Rhea County and want a successful program. I just don't think Greene can get us over the hump! I buy what I see with my own eyes!!! I did not see much to buy in to. We should have been more competitive this year. PERIOD!

Trust me Eaglepride. If they really thought he was great he would not be where he is at today. I have witnessed several letters of recomendation typed up after they just got the ax for incompetency etc. Yes he has coached under some great coaches and for some fine programs. We have all heard he had to leave because of cutbacks etc. etc. He has not been in one place for more than a couple of seasons. Great coaches KEEP great coaches. He has been let go and left several programs for a reason and no I do not believe it has been for advancement. This is only my opinion and an educated guess.

So you are saying that it's a normal practice for you to critisize people or the schoolboard that you know nothing or very little about. I have a very hard time understanding your thinking on alot of our discussions on here but I guess that is what these boards are for. We are not going to agree on everything. In mine and your case that would be nothing so far.

I am new on here but I have played the game. I know if someone was on here bashing my ole ball coach I would be one of the first to defend him and I believe these boys of ours are no different! Just my opinion but I do have to believe that their was some misconduct on coach Greene's behalf. A week ago you did not know anyone on the school board.

We expected this reply from our school board/coacht rep. I was not there either but I was told a few of the players were pretty upset and ready to take action then. Most of us was not there and will never know but what I do know not one kid has stood up for Greene on this incident. RCEF made a good point!

It would be wrong and unfair to make Greene walk right now and most of us understand that BUT we all would like to see some major strides by this time next year and you should agree. I would like you and Pride to tell us what you have seen out of Greene that will make the rest of us feel like he can get us there.

Most of us have posted our thoughts and concerns on the season. That is what this thread is about. I don't think you know everything nor have the right to tell someone to shut up and call them an idiot. That is what our school board is for. Ouch! That kinda hit close to home huh?? If I remember correct you were greeting Doug Greene with praises and open arms and now you are doubting him and ready to see him out.

Man up Pride! Players or coaches??? No we were not good this year but we had the kids to be more competitive than what we were. Last years senior class was one of the weaker classes that Rhea had in years and they finished the season 6-5. If I remember correct they were in EVERY game all but the Bearden game. Jason and his staff had our boys prepared, schemed well, and outcoached our opponent most every friday night. We did not have enough productivity out of a couple key positions this year but overall in my opinion this team SHOULD have been better than last years team based on the kids and next season should even been better than this year. With that said I am laying little blame on the boys but most of it towards Coach Greene.

I expressed some of my thoughts on the Cleveland/Rhea thread. I was pleased to see all of us waited to the season was over before we started this thread. Everyone seemed to stay positive each week or at least left their feelings off CoachT. It also gave all of us a fair shot to see and evaluate Coach Greene after one season. I see ALOT of red flags but we have to give him another year. If we do not see many positive changes by this time next season I say it's time for him to move on. Thats if he hasn't already.

Yes. He came on the end of june I believe. Maybe july. I know and understand it takes time. What I am stating is I did not see many positives nor improvement throughout the season. There is always room for opportunities for improvement. I know most of the coaches read these boards so thought I would tell them my thoughts. We have some good kids coming up. I will be one of the first to praise him when he DESERVES it!
