I would like to pose a question to both Betsy and Devil fans.

Why do you think you can beat the other team? Opportunity to speak in X’s and O’s, personel, how you beat common opponents, potential coaching decisions and philosophy.

    Thanks

I feel like Greeneville has better line play

  2. Great post earlier about the two communities and how much we are alike. Sadly, the hard fact though is some people just cant seem to understand that there's a line that should never be crossed when smack talking their rivals. Having said that, the way i personally feel about HS sports rivalries is as such. I love the passion and pride alot of us show for not just our favorite school but communities as well. It's my hope that every kid no matter the school, grows up to be happy, successful productive members of society, whether the choose to stay home, or explore the world and move elsewhere. I have zero malice for any kid the greene devils play, even the ones that make azzes of themselves. We have had our share of those just like everyone else. It does no one any good at all to belittle or talk trash to a HS kid. I feel like we can all be super supportive of our teams and our kids, all the while wishing nothing but the best for ALL the kids, regardless of their team colors. In summation, I hope each and every cyclone football player goes on to have a great life after they have received their final loss to the Greene Devils. Besides, who knows.....one of your cyclones may end up marrying a greene devil. Or maybe some day a Greene Devil may find themselves needing an organ and when the doc comes in and says " mister greene devil, we have found you a new heart and it's right up the road in carter county"....im pretty sure mister greene devil wont say " Nah, if that's all you got, keep looking"......LOL....GO DEVILS and right now, im thinking my Greene Team wins a good hard faught ball game 38-21

  3. allow me to provide a little levity to this clearly super serious topic.....

ONE....Greeneville is clearly the superior program, after all, just look at how many tophies our band has.

TWO....Our consistency is second to none....we play the exact same songs, in the exact same order EVERY halftime...dont beleive me? Why else do you think our program this year is called "The greatest showman"

THREE....we stick together, no matter how tough the situation may get, hence, our name "THE PRIDE of the devils"

FOUR.....nobody and i mean NOBODY, no matter how easy yall say our schedule is this year,  has scored on the band so far this season.

and FIVE....our band has played in two straight and 5 total state championship games....how many have the cyclones played in??.....I'll wait, im here all week!

How do you get that the Mav's have the 15th hardest schedule? (Please don't tell me from Coach T because it only factor's in Win/loss not actually who you have played).  Both teams loss was to their toughest competition in Powell.  Greeneville loss by 2 AC loss by 12 the following week.

and lets not forget that powell toyed with AC for three quarters before hanging a 28 burger on them in the 4th. Greeneville however had a pass knocked away from Jayden in the closing moments that would have set us up for the possible win, off of the leg of Cej, who has been pretty reliable, save for the SH game, throughout his devil career. Nevertheless , we always hear that scores dont matter so in the end, it will come down to one team most likely for both GHS and AC........and we all know who the orange and black elephant in the room is

just noticed your signature " the mcdonalds of HS football ".....bahahahaha....now THAT's good....im tryig to think of a restaurant analogy for my Greene Devils but right now only one i can think of off hand is " Greeneville football....the BURGER KING of HS football  - because we HAVE IT OUR WAY "

now that's a WHOPPER of an analogy right there.

There are two problems with your statement although what your saying is technically correct. First most of the school systems are open zone so almost everyone has the same advantage. Well over 80% of districts in TN are open zone. Second if closed zone school districts were really upset about it they have complete power to change the policies and become open zone. If they don’t it is their own fault and they have no room to complain.

These are the folks I'm saying Greeneville and open zoned schools have the advantage over. Which they REFUSE to admit is an advantage.

im way late to this discussion, but i see yall must be talking about "recruiting" or whatever lame azz excuse people are making for Greeneville these days...(not saying you are). Sure, being an open zone school may, or may not have its advantages, but if anyone (again, not saying you) says that was the reason Greeneville had an amazing come back.....only the third time in school history they've come from 21 down to win......then they are sorely mistaken. We have 2 kids on this team that transferred from other schools that actually play in games and one of them only play 4 or 5 plays in the game. So again, im late to the discussion, but i just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

Just let them look ahead, they don’t know what they’re overlooking

Turtle, i promise you that nobody that will actually be involved in the game tomorrow is "overlooking" yall, or anyone else for that matter. Scoring 70 on Fulton, no matter WHAT their record is, im sure caught everyones eye, even the people that dont know the difference between an out route and out right....LOL.....GO DEVILS....i hope you are treated well by our fans over there on the visitor side. There's always a bunch of us over there for various reasons, main one being that the home side is usually full to capacity....Dobynns Bennett should have came down here and built us an upper deck, since they cant seem to ever put anyone in theirs....see you tomorrow on the Hill

By "brewing" BVD could mean something like this.... consider the Union County record the last few years:

    2017  3-7
    2016  0-10
    2015  0-10
    2014  2-8
    2013  3-7
    2012  0-10
    2011  0-10
    2010  1-9

And then BOOM!!!  ......  last year's team goes 6-5 and makes the playoffs for the first time in forever.    Last week they hung 54 points on Claiborne.

Or, brewing could have something to do with corn mash, copper coils, etc....... ya never know with BVD

    well said blazer......on both counts

  11. I know this wont generate much if any interest, but finally after over 8 months and two away games to start the season, the Greene Devils are FINALLY back home this friday to open the measley 4 game home schedule this season....not including playoff games of course.....Even though its only Union County, I hope the fans will show up and show out for the returning players from the last two championship teams. so far the away game crowds have been outstanding, so surely we will pack burley this friday for a great Green Devil victory.....but after this past weekends Georgia State debacle for the VOLS, I will stop short of guaranteeing a home opening victory for the devils.....nahhh, no i wont....i guarantee you the  Devils thump the patriots in this one. BUT....I am fully aware of what their coach has brewing there.

BVD - Forgot to add this..... the last 3 Boone/Greeneville games have been won by the Devils 120-21, and Boone's 21 were junk points scored late in the 4th.     Don't waste your 1's time coming to Gray, there will be a  very good Crockett/Science Hill game in Jonesborough they can go to.

i thought you said the crockett/sh game would be good? you're just full of lies in this thread blazer.....lol......greenevilles last conf. loss was vs boone....some ten or so years ago......yall played valiantly tonight.....boones always got some scrappy kids on their team.....turnovers made this one look closer than it really was though
