I know I am new to the site and only posted 2x's (aside from a "lets play football" comment)regarding our defense. Not to say I told you so... but I was afraid that I saw this one coming. Powell is good, but I dont think their offense is that much better than CAK. Yep we lost pretty bad to CAK, but the boys were in the game until the 4th QTR rain delay. In that game I looked for the coaches to keep the boys heads in the game during the intermission. This week I came away from the game thinking the coaches dont know what they have from a talent aspsect and what kind of offense we are going to run. I know they want to run a gun slinger offense, but we dont have the QB's to execute. I think there is some promise at WR but to one of the other comments on this post you have to get the ball within their general vicinity. You are not going to win big games rotating 3 QB's per game (11,5,15). Figure out what you do best and go with it on BOTH sides of the ball... win or lose! I think it confuses the team and they give up when the see the coaches (right or wrong) just trying to make something happen.

I thought our defense played their best game of the year. The "BIG MO" plays a huge part on a young team in a big game like this week. Hopefully we wont "beat ourselves" by turning the ball over like the 4th qtr at CAK. One key element to the game will be to establish the run so we are not playing from 4th and very long like we did last year at Powell. BTW...I thought we were going to have more of a "scoring" kicking game this year. The 4th and "X" inside field goal range and always having to go for the 2pt conversion will cost teams games. I sure would of liked to have had 3 extra pts against Grace. With as much soccer as I see around here on Saturdays... surely we could find a field goal kicker. Anyone have any insight as it relates to the kicking game?

Its sad when your safetys are your leading tacklers. Our new defensive coordinator is going to have to figure out a way to stop the opposing team. CAK had some big targets and I can see playing a prevent defense to keep the ball out of the end zone, but grace had 240 yards on the ground. On the other side of the ball we didnt give up the turnovers but only 167 totaly yards of offense that was split right down the middle Pass/Rush. Grace dominated the clock and kept AC off the field... thus points off the board. I am excited about our young team, but the coaches are going to have to figure out something on Defense. The QB has shown he can connect, but just needs some playing time to make better judgements. If it wasnt for the fact that they ruled the knee down there was another "pitch up and kill" bad decision. Again they are young, but if I could only work on one thing at a time... It would be defense.
