  1. The young Bruins are getting better. Offensive line seems to be jelling a little. Throwing the ball better. Building some depth. The Green Wave has a good win over Oakland but the next 3 games will tell us what the Green Wave is made of. IMHO, 5A ball is really really really weak.

  2. from what i see indy has the ath's and coaches to win there district. tell me if im wrong

I've given this a lot of thought and prognostication. I've decided that the answer to your question, Is Indy for Real? is :

    no............

No offense - o.k. defense - so so coaching - enjoy the winning streak. I know you guys are concerned about that juggernaut of Tennessee football: Coffee County.

  3. I don't know when they started having State Championships, but throughout the 100 years of Franklin I'm pretty sure they've won a number of championships, they just weren't state titles because they didn't have state title games...I may be wrong though.

However, if any Franklin team has ever had a chance of doing it (besides the 08 team that came extraordinarily close, and the 09 team that would have if they had made the 2 point conversion vs Brentwood)in their entire history, it is this one.

On the topic however, of FHS vs CHS, I stick with my earlier post-this one won't be close. FHS by a landslide.

Masheen, As the self proclaimed guru of Williamson County, I have to ask you: What drugs were you partaking of before you wrote this post? If ever there was a team that has a chance to win state championships, its this one?

    1. The 08 team IMHO was the probably the best chance. Balanced offense and defense. Ran into Rutherford County in what is becoming a trend unfortunately.

    2. The 09 team was not as good as the 08 team - period. Brentwood was better also.

    3. This bunch has a good QB but and could very well win the district(which in this year is nothing but a paper tiger) but write this down, THEY WILL NOT WIN STATE or even sniff at it.

I've got the names of some good internet rehab places if you ever need one.

As for Franklin vs. Centennial, This year it will be the Rebels. However, Willco needs to be afraid of this bunch in the future: lots of athletes and a coach who knows how to win. Wildcard is whether he will get enough time or if he will get fed up.

  4. That was a big second half for sure!

I thought the Cougars may have a chance next week but don't see it happening now.

Franklin's O is hard to handle and I would say the Commando D is better than Centennial's D.

It will be a shoot out with Franklin winning again.

Against the porous Franklin defense, The Cougars might score ........... 7 .......... while the Rebels put up 28. Rector needs a couple of years.

  5. First time seeing Franklin's QB in action and he was impressive, especially in the second half. If not for some drops his numbers would have been even better. He's got a good arm and appears to have a good grasp of the offense. I'm partial to pro-style quarterbacks, the ones that beat you with their head and their arm and use their legs to move around in the pocket. If Franklin can protect Kuivinen their offense should put up some points this season.

If the Rebels don't learn how to play defense, Mr. Kuivenen will be out by the 5th game with either a rotator cuff injury or just his arm is going to fall off. He has improved from last year and has the 2 things you can't teach a quarterback: 6'4" and a lively arm!

  6. I don't see anything in the topic that asks about the best coach in Div. I AAA; just best coachin Williamson, which Potter, in my opinion, is.

Coupla questions for you, since you seem to have taken great pleasure in BA's recent loss to Trinity from Louisville:

    1. When's the last time your team played a top 10 nationally ranked team? Result?

    2. When's the last time your team played against a school which enrolled more than 6 times the number of boys (about 220 at BA to about 1300 at Trinity) Result?

    3. What is Potter's record against the Williamson County publics?

That's what I thought - thanks for playing.

I don't have a team Chauncey. I would hope Potters record is better against the Williamson County Publics because he can RECRUIT his players. If I wanted to go watch paid players, I would go watch MBA or The U!!!

  7. Smyrna lost to A pretty good BGA team as a result of mistakes from a lack of concentration. Bulldogs have

the speed and tallent to hang with anybody in the state . Just have to keep their heads in the game !

I gotta go with Brentwood though it will come down to kicking, turnovers, and penalties.

  8. Well since you have all this magic, are you also a wizard???? I am tired of this crap! If you are Eubanks then shame on you. There is no reason you should be making statements like this. Coach Clayton is going nowhere. He is the FHS coach and will be next year. He has told many of us that he likes it here and as long as the school will work with him he will stay. I was one that got on him about his scheduling and I have begun to see what he was thinking. I hated that we were going to KY to play games, but he is trying to get us exposure. Now, we are not allowed to go get exposure. I was told that FHS was the team that was suppose to play Saint X this week but they would not allow us to play them. That is how Riverdale got them. At least we get a little exposure this week with the TV game. Coach Clayton is trying his best to show off players to college scouts but some people do not want that to be done.

    FBFORME,

You guys went to KY to play games so you would have the most overrated schedule in the mid-state which you had last year. There is a difference in going out of state to play strong competition and going out of state to play cream puffs. You statement about showing off players to college coaches is ludicrous. What Franklin High kid has been recruited as a big league prospect in the past few years(or for that matter, Brentwood(only Lucas Patrick comes to mind), Indy, Centennial, Page, etc...)? Maybe Kuivenen breaks the mold but he has to get a lot better and mobile. He does have the size.

Face it, this is going to be a down year for the Rebels and probably the other WillCo teams.
