Probably will be until Regions 3 & 4 change up. Or unless we go to 2A next cycle. Our Jr High and Jr pro teams all had good seasons this year so more good talent is on its way to the high school field. Makes me think we will be seeing more matchups between Tigers and Pirates hopefully

Heard last week that this is probably last year for G-ville to be 1A.,going up to 2A...Don't know if that is true or not but that is the talk

  2. Old Pirate wonders if that 1963 Civitan Bowl is on the You Tube? Now that wa a bunch of fellers (grandads by now)that were undersized that played with tremendous heart! OP feels this years SP team is similar but Friday will tell us for ALL TIME how much heart this team has.

Yep, OP was in Nashvegas for that Springhill feud and the Boyd loss last week reminds OP of how them youngons from SP with robbed of their state championship. Dad burnit, least it did help create the genuine article in "Captain Crazy" aka David Wyatt # 31. That youngon has been pisssed ever since. Figure he's still looking for that ref that made that terrible call.

Mr.Unknown Ref, if you should stumble across this here post, jest listen when at a SP game and follow the yell "Gas Them", "One Time" or "Hit Someone" and you can apoligize to Captain Crazy. Ifin you have big nuff fuzzies :roflol:I heard my mom talking about a game between Cookeville and South Pitt., years ago, called the Civitan Bowl.I believe she said it was in 1969.Said that Watson Brown was quarter back then.I do believe she said that they won that year.Is this true Old Pirate?

  3. It's a newer stadium and about what most of the newer ones have, it would have been way to costly to bring in and set up and take down more bleachers. I don't think I've ever seen that happen in any high school event. I've been and no doubt y'all have too, to schools that only had maybe two or three of the small bleachers like you see at the baseball fields. Y'all have one of the old school stadiums (nothing meant by that at all) when they used to do the concrete stands and have a lot of seating back before there were so many new schools popping up and they started going to the aluminum setups. I saw chop blocks both ways for sure, don't like that but both were doing it.

we dont have any concrete seating. Its all aluminum. Its a beautiful field, and the school is only 8 yrs., old. <_<
  4. Croz,I totally agree about the horses. Some lady friends and I were walking on the sidewalk back to our seat, and it was nerve racking having to walk behind a horses butt every time. What if they(horses) got startled and started to kick.Someone could of got hurt last night, especially kids. They should of kept them in the grass, instead of against the fence.

Also,I will probably get bashed for this, but I saw ALOT of unnecessary hitting, chop blocks, and some twisting of the heads by the eagleville team.I know emotions were running high last night, but I feel like the refs., should of done a better job than what they were doing.

  5. what a great game last night!Lots of fans and noise...But I have a question for the Eagles school. Why didn't they have more bleachers for the visting side? They could of bought in some extras for the fans of G-ville.And what happened to the football announcer?Or did they have one? They sure need some speakers on the opponents side to.

Earlier, some of you guys were talking about how bad the refs., were in the game.Personally,I saw alot of chop blocks on our guys, and alot of personal crap going on to.That's my opinion,...just saying Go Tigers......

croz6110 did you forget to take your meds today. First of all I wear boxers not panties. Secondly, G-Ville fans have been talking about mercy ruling us all over the message boards this weekend. Nashville Christian had a 5-7 record this year so you beat a team with a losing record---CONGRATULATIONS. I hope your boys come into the game as cocky as the G-Ville fans on the message boards are. Mess with the eagle and you get the claw. Our boys will be ready and will have the win once the dust settles. Always remember that its not how you start but how you finish and we will be ending Gordonsville's season come Friday night.

Better Luck next years since according to the message boards your loaded for the next couple of seasons

I really think this game will be close and competitive. There are so many factors that play into a game that all this mercy rule crap is just that. Depth may be the biggest factor for G'ville as they probly have more than E'ville. I know that most of em aren't G'ville fans. Mercy rule based on what, that they beat a mediocre team last week that was lucky to have won the week before, given G'ville has played some good teams. They must be assuming that A) Eagleville's defensive stats and efforts for the year are a facade, B) that Eagleville's going to lay down, C) that G'ville won't have any turnovers, D) that they're so in awe of G'ville that they feel they have no hope... Too many assumptions based only on the fact that G'ville is a good team and somehow that Eagleville won't show up even though they're 11-0. They could beat Eagleville badly if Eagleville gives the ball away but outside of that, I don't think a blowout is happening. If G'ville wins it will be at most by 2 td's but I'd say less than 10 pts. That being said I think Eagleville has a chance to pull off the upset and if that happens I could care less if it's by 1 or 10.

  8. We respect your team, and what you done this year, but the tigers will be ready for some head-butting,a## kicking football come friday night.Bishop remembers when we played in 2000-2003 years together. We were the hogs!on the o-line and d-line...I see alot of heart, pride and honor in this years team, like we had when I played @ GHS...Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!

  9. This shows how much you pay attention.

No one, I repeat no one from Gville mentioned a mercy rule last week, but it happened last night as soon as the 3rd quarter started.

I know more than anyone that you can't compare scores, but they are a good indicator. You should know that.

Alot of people, including myself, are confident in what this Gville team can do. We're not discounting anyone. Unlike someone from NC and you who are trying to discount our Mr. Football Candidate, and he along with others definitely showed up last night. There's only been 3 posters on this thread from Gordonsville, the rest are Smith County, SP and others.

You can use examples from other games all you want, but they have nothing to do with this game. TC plays FC twice a year most years, and everyone knows about Pearl-Cohn and why they beat Smith County.

Look, Eagleville accomplished something by being 10-0, not denying that. But that means nothing right now. Eagleville and Gordonsville are both 1-0.

IMO, Gville should win by 2 td's, I'd take a win, none the less. However, if Gordonsville plays like they did last night, a mercy rule is possible. No disrespect there. <_<:roflolk: :popcorneater:very well said croz...Go Tigers!!!
