  1. Before you respond to my post you need to look at what I responded to first...And what WOLVERINE78 said about our QB... Yea y'all played hard ill give u that...BUT TO GET RESPECT YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT somebody coming on here after a lost saying what he said about our kids all bets are off...I don't get on here to trash talk I post want i think PC score will be some of my scores be off (CPA4EVER)and that's fine...So this goes for anybody that's gets on here and talks trash about PC and our players i'm going too respond.

I get that you were taking up for your QBs and I dont blame you. I'm not gonna harp on it because there were pages dedicated to something I said that was blown way out of proportion. Im the same, I'm going to take up for Harpeth boys if they've been disrespected (obviousy). I would encourage you not to stoop to their level if you feel that way. I do respect PC and I feel like Harpeth earned their respect as well. Good Luck!

  2. Actually we wasn't fooled we knew y'all couldn't beat us...And for our QB'S one's a FR the one that beat y'all is a SO.

I actually came onto coacht because I wanted to wish PC luck against CPA. I have nothing against CPA, but after playing PC Friday night, I have respect for them and would like to see them win. They played a clean game of hard hitting football and won fair and square. I don't usually scout players from other teams or call them out on here, but the speed on that punt returned for a touchdown was unbelievable. I was impressed with their discipline and felt the coach, the players, the fans in attendance, were all a class act.

Now, FIREBIRD80, that being said, it's flat out insulting for you to actually post on here that you knew we couldn't beat you. Even your coach told some of our parents, of which I was one, that we outplayed PC the second half. The 2nd quarter killed us and PC deserved that win, I'm not saying in any way that they didn't. But to disrespect those boys after how hard they played is uncalled for. It's a shame you don't have as much class as the coach of the team and the PC players themselves do.

Good luck Pearl Cohn, I hope you guys make it to the big game.

  3. Harpeth came out flat give them time to wake up

Harpeth didn't come out flat at all. They came out playing hard and haven't stopped for one second. Pearl Cohn is fast and their band is good but they're annoying when you can't hear the announcer. I'm proud of them, they're giving them a fight. No blowout here.

  4. Their band goes to away games? That's impressive these days. I guess I'm old school, I expect the band to be at football games, especially close commutes, but ours never is. I realize it's expensive, but correct me I'm wrong, they get the concession money from the home FOOTBALL games. Sorry, this is unrelated to the thread but its one of my many soapboxes.

  5. Thanks for the weight loss compliment. Almost nobody, well really nobody else has noticed. And sure enough, it says right there in the schedule section that Cheatham beat Harpeth 27-7. I bet you could resurrect that thread and talk about that game while we're playing football in Kingston Springs Friday night.

I personally like the "son" because I know who you are, ksgovols, and I'm not much older than you, so I'm feeling like a young'un right about now.

  6. Sequatchie played at least 5 teams with more teams speed than Harpeth. Harpeth stayed with their blocks, broke tackles, wrapped up, passed when it was unexpected, made first downs when they had to get them and made stops when they had to get them. It wasn't their athleticism that won it.

That was not a good play by the player mentioned above, he was fortunate not to get a penalty-but the Harpeth player was at fault too for continuing to hold on to his leg for a good five seconds after he was down (tight end making a catch about 8 yards down the field). If a ref had come in quicker and got them both up it wouldn't have happened at all.

The roughing penalty late was not a good play either, quarterback was taking a knee and was shoved down. He could have taken it quicker instead of going backward and I don't think it would have happened but it was still a penalty. It wasn't a big shot but any contact was unnecessary. That player was taken out even though there wasn't much time at all left in the game, and he heard about it on the sideline. Some teams would have left him in, and from the reports I read on here after games Friday, some teams would have encouraged it.

Harpeth played their best game against SC. Athleticism is more than just speed and it played a part in their win. They played smart and didn't give up.

Both of the instances you mentioned were pretty blatant along with a horse collar and a couple of face masks that weren't called and were obvious. I hate bad or sloppy officiating, gets under my skin faster than anything. The last thing I want to see is some kid getting hurt. Regardless of who he plays for. It's irresponsible to let things like that go, because it just escalates every time it's uncalled.

  7. Howdoitknow, you do know that when we lost to CPA Friday we really didn't lose? It don't count if we were flat, tired, hungry, sleepy ect.... Lol... That's the most rediculous excuse I have ever herd! Harpeth didn't lose cuz they were flat, they lost cuz they didn't eat well b4 the game !!lol....

    Give it a rest already

  8. I am willing to BET that Harpeth has never been in a fight like the one they are about to be in friday.

Pearl is one of the HARDEST HITTING teams in the state on any level. Pearl is a dangerous team in the playoffs. They are in many cases playing for more than a victory, but a chance at a better life via a college scholarship. Under Coach Brunetti, Pearl has placed more young men in college than any other football program in middle tennessee.

I won't take that bet because we know were in for a fight and if that's true about Coach Brunetti, that says a lot for him , his team and their character and work ethic. I'm looking forward to a great game Friday night with a great crowd cheering for both teams. Having both teams playing close to home in the playoffs will make it an even better atmosphere. Go Harpeth!

  9. Making comments such as "your team is finished go to the basketball boards" is disrespectful as well. Are you going to sit there and tell me that wasn't said?

No I won't deny it. I agree with you that's ridiculous and childish. All of the teams and players have my respect and I've never seen you be disrespectful toward others. I'm dropping it. Both teams had a great year, I'm hoping Harpeths continues past Friday but if it doesn't, I'm proud of them and Ive enjoyed it either way

  10. I think we just have a misunderstanding. I didn't mean that no one had a clue but me AT ALL, just a few people that completely discount a team they know nothing about are clueless. For example, if you watched the film of the Harpeth/Cheatham game and that's all you've seen of Harpeth, your view of the team would be clueless, because they were flat and didn't play like they can play. I don't know anything about Pearl Cohn except what I've read on here. I grew up in Nashville, so my OPINION is they will be a tough opponent. I honestly like that people are making statements like that. Our boys read it and it makes them mad and fires them up.

This is my original post. NOWHERE did I say we lost because we were flat, that was your interpretation. We could have played our best game and gotten beat. I just hate to lose in a game that I feel like they didn't play like ive seen them play week after week. That's all I meant. Cheatham County is a great team, I just hated that we didn't have a great game against them.

  11. I find that funny considering you were the one who originally brought the game up several pages ago. Look it up if you want proof. I've been waiting on your 4 Harpeth posters to drop it but you all can't respond without trying to throw in a childish insult. Imagine that.....

Why would i need to look it up for proof? Yes , I brought it up in response to a PC fan who said they had watched out last game film and thought we would be no challenge, it wasn't to rile up CC fans. I just commented that they weren't getting a good representation of how Harpeth plays and they weren't. I don't care how many games Harpeth has won or lost against Cheatham, or who killed what goat or any of that other crap. It's childish to judge the current team based on actions of previous teams. My son has friends at Cheatham and on their team and he thinks this whole board is ridiculous. To be honest, the loss against Cheatham worked in our favor because it fired them up for the next game.

  12. A parent in the stands used that as an excuse. Look on CoachT and see where I stated something about a water cooler. That goes for anyone associated with CCCHS Football for that matter. A random fan in the stands made an excuse and that is it. Sycamore beat Cheatham because they were a better football team.

Sycamore also beat Harpeth because they were a better football team.

Cheatham County also beat Harpeth because THE CUBS ARE A BETTER FOOTBALL TEAM!

Harpeth is 6-13 against Cheatham County and 2-9 against Sycamore. That's 8-22 in 30 all-time games against the other schools in the county. Can you say owned?

I bet the goat laughs at that stat.....almost as much as I do :roflol:

I KNOW! I KNOW! In 22 of those 30 games Harpeth was "flat"

You have issues. You might need to work on that. By the way, I'm a random fan and so are you, just like the one in the stands.

  13. Hahahahaha! You Harpeth fans crack me up. Congrats on that win last week over perennial 3a powerhouse Sequatchie. This week will be more reminiscent of the beatdown you endured a couple of weeks ago in Ashland City. I wonder what the excuse will be come Saturday morning: "Flat," Food poisoning from pregame meal, bad officiating, or some other lame excuse? Your arrogance makes it easy to pull for the Firebirds in this one. 28-0 Pearl Cohn.

So glad to amuse you. IF we are beaten, I hope we can use the same "excuse" we used when Camden beat us...they played their hearts out and left it all on the field, sometimes a team is just better than you are. Someone has to win. I've taught my son that even in losing, if you did your best, you win. Luckily he hasn't been agonizing over the loss to Cheatham or gloating like a redneck idiot with no life over the win at Sequatchie. Life goes on and these are just memories being made

  14. When playoff time comes around you should be ready to play because every other team is. Those "off nights" happen in the regular season, but come playoffs it is up to the coaching staff to have their players motivated and prepared to play because then it is one and done.

I'm hoping they're ready. It's going to be a fight! Harpeth will have to play their best game, they have nothing but respect for PC and are well aware this will be their toughest challenge.

  15. You need to re-read what I actually said and my explanation for why I said it before stating that all Harpeth fans are "making excuses". Number one, i speak for myself and myself ONLY. I said that if you base your opinion of Harpeth on the Cheatham game film, it isn't a good representation of our boys and that they played flat against Cheatham..this was in response to a poster that said we would be no challenge. I NEVER at any time said Cheatham didn't deserve their win, they were a better team that night. They are not a better team in my OPINION, and I have every right to it, just a's every other poster on this board.

I have watched EVERY game these seniors have played since Junior Pro and I know what they can do. I've seen them rise to the challenge and I've seen them get in their own heads.

We have every right to be proud of them and for them, for getting to the second round when most of didn't think they would. I hope they get to the quarter finals but if y'all are right and we get slaughtered by PC, they've still gotten further then previous Harpeth teams and have had a great time doing it.

One last thing, and then I'm done talking about this. After watching a team play 9 games, some won and some lost, in a season, and in the 10th game, the spark, the connection, the heart, isn't there for whatever reason, if you want to say Cheathams running game, passing, defense or offense was the difference, go right ahead saying it. As a Harpeth fan I PERSONALLY think they weren't playing like I've seen them play. I used the word flat it's the best word to describe it. We were down by 21 to Camden and came back and tied it up by half time...the team that did that wasn't there that night and if you think Cheatham is better than Camden, you do need your head examined.

  16. Right howdoitknow. I think Harpeth was setting the seeding up so that they'd be the only team in the county and 11AA still playing the second weekend of November. You've pulled out the 'flat card' yourself a time or two. Football is a momentum game. Harpeth beat Creekwood 41-16 who beat the Cubs 29-28. That means squat when it gets down to it doesn't it? The best team on paper doesn't always win. Harpeth and Cheatham both had playoff games wrapped up and Harpeth doesn't hang 'County Championships' up in the gym. Different motivations I guess.

Sycamore gets the County Championship banner  Regardless, I really didn't mean to start a battle about who was the better Cheatham County team because I honestly don't care. My focus is on Friday night. Our guys are going to have to play the game of their lives to beat PC and advance. Looking forward to a hard fought game from both teams

  17. Cheatham County beat Harpeth because they were a better football team not because the Indians played "flat". Cheatham County beat Harpeth which means that in my mind the 2011 Cubs were better than the 2011 Indians.

It wasn't like Harpeth was "flat" and they lost in a nailbiter. The score was 27-0 in the 4th quarter before Harpeth scored on the backups in the final minute of the game.

That would be like me saying "Cheatham County lost to Sycamore and Creek Wood because they were FLAT". The fact of the matter on those nights was that Sycamore and Creek Wood were better than the Cubs.

I hate the "we were flat" excuse. It's a bunch of b.s. in all honesty. Anyone who attended the week ten game in Ashland City would have to admit that Cheatham County was a better football team than Harpeth.

Spoken like a true Cubs fan. I usually respect what you have to say but well have to agree to disagree here. By your reasoning, the 2011 Creekwood team is better than the 2011 Cubs team. I don't agree with that either. I think Cheatham has a great team this year and that Potts is an amazing athlete. You're right it wasn't even close, because we had an off night, we were flat, whatever. The cubs were better than the Indians that night but they aren't a better team. Nothing you can say will change my mind about that. Every team has an off night and wishes they could replay a game, that's just a fact.

That post was aimed at a guy who said he watched the film from our game and based upon that, he thinks PC will kill us. The point I was trying to make was that game film isn't representative of our guys. if you watch the Camden film, you'll see what our guys are made of. They fought and played their hearts out, they didn't win, but they didn't have any regrets after the game because they did their best.

It's interesting that you said the 2011 Cubs are better than the 2011 Indians but when referring to your losses to Creekwood and Sycamore, they were better than the Cubs THAT NIGHT.

  18. I think PC will take this one, that being said......Harpeth is a chippy team, once they get down they got nothing to lose. Expect some cheap shots on PC's best players. Tell them not to retaliate or harpeth will start a fight. We know if PC wins this they will need their full team and nobody to be suspended for 2 games from being ejected

What a bunch of bull. Harpeth won't go after the best players when they "get down" and they don't start fights. I've been watching these boys since they were 5 and I've never once seen them start something in order to hurt a player, any more than any other team would.

  19. I'm not trying to take anything away from harpeth at all. I think they had a tremendous season.. But you coming on here saying no one has a clue except for u is UNREALISTIC. Now once again I will state that I'm pulling for harpeth in this game.. Would rather they win over PC any day. But being a REALIST I don't see it happening.

  20. Reality does suck sometimes, I'm confident that's what Smith County, Sequatchie County, Lexington etc. are thinking right now. The reality is.... This isn't regular season play, it's the playoffs and everyone made it here on their own merit. Do we discount PC because they were a #8 seed? Obviously not. Only a fool counts any team out in playoffs. I do know this, Harpeth will work hard all week to prepare for this game, we'll be there to support them, and win or lose, they will give it all theyve got and leave it all on the field. These boys play with heart, and that should never be discounted. So LOL all you want. I'm a realist too and im not laughing

  21. Harpeth has a solid team. Descent defense and a good offense. Their QB is tough and runs well. Their tight end is tall and will fool you with his speed and ability to get clear. They also have a very good running back. They play with a lot of heart. Camden had them down by 14 in the first quarter but they fought back and took a 21-21 tie into the locker room at halftime. They eventually lost the game but fought hard to the last buzzer. Don't think that Harpeth is a easy mark. If you do you will get wore out. they're a good team.

Appreciate the props, wmatlock. I wad proud of the way our guys stayed in it and fought to the end at Camden, I wish we had some of that fight last night at Cheatham. We were flat and Cheatham came to play. Hopefully, a lesson was learned and we'll come out fired up and on our game. They've had a great year and I'm pumped to play a team we've never seen before. Indians vs Indians, gonna be a battle!
