  1. MBA's current streak is something for the players to feel good about..... but Baylor is not one of these sub .500 teams MBA has been playing. I see some chests sticking out over squeaking by some pretty bad teams. Lets hope for a good effort, lets hope the Defense knows where to line up, and lets PLEASE not get mercy-ruled as we head into winter sports. Its time for the worst MBA season since the 80's to come to a close.
  2. MBA wins, another road win. 9-3 last year with everyone back and now 5-5. Go figure....
  3. Ensworth may have excellent players but they are well coached too. And this included their DC who the nouveau MBA complained about. I wonder what they have to say now. The proof is in the results. The current MBA coaching staff has done a poor job. With the entire team back from a 9-3 record, this 5-5 team looked lost, undisciplined and under prepared all year. That would never be said about the previous 3 coaching staffs. .
  4. I can hear Coach Elliot now. How many angle tackling drills do you think BA will do this week? BA will bounce back and the defense will be fine. I expect to see a rematch.
  5. Make that two of us. Despite this season being a disaster this was a win for MBA on the road. The talent has always been there and it sounds like the MBA stepped up at the right time. Call me old fashion but but did we really need to storm the field? Also, do we now team-issue arm sleeves? Coach Owen would roll over right now....but there-in lies the problem. Coach Owen and his traditions are a distant memory from the coaches and the campus these days.
  6. Too close to call but should be a good one. These two and Baylor seem to be a cut above the rest this year.
  7. MBA should win this one. Better players and MBA always seems to beat McCallie. If the defense gives up 50 points though MBA doesn't have a chance as the offense hasn't produced anything either. I'll still say MBA wins based on talent and history. Please, no more mercy rules....
  8. The two hot middle TN teams. It should be a great game with a re-match almost a certainty. Is the game at Ensworth or Brentwood?
  9. That might be the case. But Mawee is not a 17 year-old boy. He is the curiously appointed Dean of Students who peeled the paint off the locker room with his language and grotesque, homophobic references. If a teacher or any other coach used this language they would be dismissed immediately.
  10. Can anyone share info? Kevin Mawae's profanity laced halftime rant has already reached legendary status. It was quite the conversation piece at the BGA/BA game. From what I hear he was not at school the next day. Is this related? Off week could not come at a better time for the Big REd.
  11. Speechless is the right word. Despite having good players this is the worst team MBA has had in 25 years. Too make matters worse....can anyone shed any light on our new Dean of Students, Kevin Mawae, profanity-laced halftime rant?
  12. Disaster for a season, yes. But lets look at some positives. We beat Fr. Ryan for the 17th straight time.
  13. Then MBA will struggle to find a rhythm. Nothing has been shown to this point to indicate that this is a well-coached team. Not trying to hate, just calling it like I see it. One thing that MBA has been good at in recent years is badly running off good coaches. There was list on here a while ago. Longtime, proud, loyal coaches at MBA have been soured so greatly by the all-mighty Gioia.
  14. If the Pearl Cohn game proved anything, it proved that despite the 2-4 record, MBA has some serious talent. It also proved that MBA has a long way to go. Can someone explain to me why the players have wrist bands on defense? How hard is it to say Base 50 or Goalline D? I have learned that these days it is all about image at MBA and seeing the coaches and players on friday night I understand why. What would Coach Owen think of the arm sleeves, black socks, and untucked jerseys? MBA beats Ryan and continues the streak.
  15. Exactly. Bowers is an great coach with an excellent record but not necessarily the warm and fuzzy kind. But most young men loved playing for Bowers, as did most who played for Coach McGugin. Bowers was smart, he saw what was coming w/ Gioia and he hit the road. Back to football...MBA wins tomorrow night.
