  1. I would have to disagree...id say a majority of the time coaches are leaving there starters in.and i know the BCS has effected this but of course there are instances where it should take place(ex. previous injury, another player needs reps).. and i couldnt disagree more with offseason comment..I think offseason is one of most important parts of season but nothing simulates real game fatigue..And when was last time you saw a college recruit at a high school game? just curious..i mean i kno it happens but not alot
  2. Very True Comment actually...except for a few exceptions maybe, most recruiters watch film or highlight videos on these guys rather than come to the games. they also bring them in for visits and YES they do look at stats... so therefore, stats at the end of the year do matter..not to mention that it prepares your starters to play four quarters, so when they are asked to they have the stamina/physicalatity to do so..You dont see colleges and NFL teams pulling their starters at end of half or even after 3rd quarter..Why? because Stats do matter.its half if not more than half the reason we keep up with them in first place...and moreso your preparing your starters. Now, understandably with a few minutes to go in game, sure pull your starters..but Fridays are these kids "paydays". let them have what they have worked hard all week for.
  3. Yes he did...will admit when wrong...#36 definitly deserves attention he hasnt received..if Millington makes a run in playoffs he will have a chance to rush for 2000+ yards..that alone puts him in elite category
  4. meant marlon barnes .. autocorrect sorry
  5. because they play patty cake teams and he is on sideline for second half in most games is why he is averaging 17 carries..i promise you they feed him the rock. I guess it doesnt help tho that bartlett bolton have fallen off the map and millington is forced to play them so not there fault but that is the reason his carries are low in comparison. i dont think Marlon Brown is a good comparison tho. they look nothing alike, not near as fast, cant cut like Barnes. Genesy is more like a fullback. o wait, he plays FB...why is this even a discussion. the post should read why isn't Genesy getting more talk for being best FB in state
  6. not a millington fan but i would have to say you are pretty spot on with your list of top backs...i would throw Davenport from Riverdale in there but other than that sounds like you have a good eye for talent.Genesy's numbers are the only thing that put him in category with your Mathers and Kimbrows. but thats not saying Memphis shouldnt sign a guy like Genesy. they would be stupid not too. When your talking about Mathers and Kimbrow tho you are talking about SEC caliber backs. Im sure Arkansas state or a similar school will get him tho just like all good players from Shelby Metro. Kudos coach Porter
  7. First- never said Craigmont was a weak opponent...probably the 3rd best team on Trojan schedule.. i simply meant that after seeing both teams play I think Arlington will make for a tougher matchup player for player..but thats just a personal opinion Second- I take back my statement about not being mentioned as top back in state...his body of work definitly puts him in that category.. but like you said, when he goes against well prepared/GOOD teams(notice didnt say real good)there going to put 8 or 9 in box and that will tame most BEASTS.. but that bein said, any coach would drool to have him in their backfield
  8. saw him play against a good team...good rb, not close to best in state...altho, millington has no passing game so good teams will load the box and limit his ability..he does run all over the weak opponents millington plays tho..ill be interested to see what he does against Arlington who has proven to have a formidable defense this year
