I don't know alot about Grace, but I find that hard to believe they could get away with shipping players in from out of state just for the basketball season.

I don't think I'm talking to rocks. This has been some of the best discussion on this board this week. I respect all opinions on here. And when I wrote "haves and have not's" no one would count me in the haves. At least not in worldly possessions anyway. And due to the very precise arguments made on here I have to retract my statements on jealousy, I do believe I was wrong about that.

I see your point and I can respect that. I just cant generalize all privates, there are two in my area and they are by no means powerhouses if they are recruiting they are doing a terrible job. What's the argument when you come to schools like jo byrns or south pitt, how do they maintain their dominance and football heritage. I never been to south pitt but jo byrns is very rural and I don't think anyone would say they are recruiting .

Unfortunately I guess it just comes down to the haves and have not's. I can honestly say that I aint got much, but I'm proud of and grateful for what I do have, and I just can't see thinking bad of someone else for what they have even if it is more than what I got.

That's my point. If you don't like the system the way it is one alternative to banishing privates for no good reason is to lobby for open enrollment across the board. Because I can tell you right now there is no way that all privates will ever be sent to Div 2. And on another note I never called anyone from Tennessee ignorant, I am from 5 miles just outside the middle of nowhere Tennessee and will be until the day I die.

Yes they do offer scholarships. And that is why they play Div 2.

A large drawing pool? Really? How many people do you know that can afford their outrageous tuition's. I firmly believe that the high tuition is a disadvantage for most of the privates, at least the ones that don't "cheat". And if your so against the system the way it stands instead of unfairly attacking the privates why don't you lobby for open enrollment. You are starting to sound like a big city welfare case, "they have, I want", instead of a good ol country boy.

Thank you and reaction for bringing it around and helping make my point. Your big argument against privates is that they cheat, yet you admit public's cheat, reaction thinks it's funny, therefore the only real reason that I can see for your attitude towards privates is jealousy.

You have made great point's. However, it sound's like you are unfairly going with the assumption that all privates are cheating and "keeping it under their hats". Do you feel that way about the private schools that routinely get the dog stuff kicked out of them on Friday nights. I'm not saying that some don't cheat, but I have a feeling if you really compared the numbers on violations over a certain number of years we would all be surprised about who's cheating and who is not. Also I'm wandering why privates in general seem to be targeted so much on this board as apposed to the public's that actually get caught cheating. When the statement like "all privates should play D2" is made are the privates that get used week in and week out as doormats by the publics included? What about the public's that get caught cheating?

They got caught and they are paying. What do you feel about the publics that have been caught cheating?

Believe it or not we have private schools in western Tn and I do understand what is going on, the reason they have money is because they charge money to go to school their. That in my opinion puts them at a disadvantage. It's not their fault that not everyone can afford to go their. What is your opinion on the public's that get caught cheating? Should they be banished also? I didn't call you dumb. You don't sound dumb, I just wanted to debate this with you. Also, you say it has become a football magnet. Well if the really good athletes in the area want to go their and can pay the tuition that is their choice, this is America. If you want them to go to D2 it still won't stop the athletes from going there.

The offense is very explosive. They can run it at will (Burman is a beast) and have a reciever who is averaging over 19 yards per reception, and he is not the only good receiver they have. Overall they are very well rounded.

That's sounds very much like jealousy. I'm from western Tennessee and have never even watched GCA play a game, but the disdain for private and christian schools is getting really ridiculous. If these private schools cheated as much as everybody wants to insinuate they would be getting in a lot more trouble than we read about. You act like the publics do no wrong, while off the top of my head I can think of two publics that have been caught cheating this year. You quote "greed and power", give us an example. And what does "the little small schools they play have nothing in common", mean?

I have to agree, six state titles is the epitome of success.

I think I might head down that way. I believe it will be a much better game than C.A vs Bton.

Yeah, it would be great for their program to win 1 in the playoffs.

I'm not sure about the rules, but I think it has something to do with schools that provide scholorships and recruit have to go D2 those that don't can play D1.

That would be called Division 2. It' been around a few years now. Why so hostile toward private schools?

Thanks, I'm learning that. I think P.C will be good again this year, and if they can make up for their lost speed they have a great chance at state. Is it true that Tucker might not play this year? I think that would be a shame. Having said that, I know the season hasn't started yet but I have to give the early pick of Mactown over P.C if they meet up. I think they are just going to me more well rounded. I could be wrong though, just have to wait and see.
