  1. McEwen can handle the press well also. Our point gaurd is the best ball handler in the Region from what I have seen. The only way teams we have played have stopped him was by fouling. All 5 of our starters can shoot the 3. Height for the starters ranges from 5"10 to about 6"4. We do have three tall kids come off the bench, one about 6"7 + and even with him out earlier in the season, they defended a 6"8 Bedwell from WHH decently. McEwen can play a good tight man to man if needed. I guess we are going to have a good match up here.
  2. Very true...I'm thinking a BTW and PC game in the finals on that side (since btw plays lc first round instead of later....BUT anything can happen!). I don't know much about the teams we got on our side of the bracket so I can't say much there.
  3. Do you know how strong their gaurd play is?
  4. Haven't heard much on Cloudland, what is their strengths?
  5. I see CPA making it to the finals. Didn't get to see the last AA game played, but CPA definitely left an impression. Going to put it out there that Stone Memorial's defense left an impression as well. Definitely their strongest asset.
  6. It is done to try and get into the player's head to make them miss, therefore it is to help our team. We wouldn't do it if it didn't, thank you.
  7. A little add on, for the "adults dressed as clowns" in the cheering section, that was the first time they did that all year. I'm sorry Collinwood didn't have as many people get as into it as McEwen did, but as you could see we have pride in our boys and go all out for them. Those adults had on red shirts, red thermals under their pants and the but of their jeans put together said warrior pride. How you mix that up with looking like a clown and supporting your team is your issue. And as said above, I didn't hear any cussing and I was in that cheering section. Did they boo them? Yes. Was it unclassy? Yes. Was that situation handled? Yes. Other than general cheers, the only thing chanted was "choker", which many schools do so. All that was done was for our boys, not to personally attack anybody from Collinwood. Sorry if you thought it was, but it wasn't.
  8. Well guess what, MCEWEN IS GOING TO STATE FOR A REASON! No team is unbeatable and every team has strengths and weaknesses. McEwen and PC both beat MTCS, about the same amount, but more than likely both teams played differently against them. As for a coach saying those teams are better than PC, #1 that doesn't make it true and #2 that doesn't make them better than McEwen! McEwen has done what they had to to win and will continue to do so until it ends, and that is something nobody can determine until it happens!
  9. Thank you, I, and I'm sure the rest of McEwen, appreciate that a lot.
  10. My comment was about him saying we survived off of point blank misses. We did have a couple put-backs, but there was a lot more to McEwens offense than that. I realize Collinwood had several misses as did McEwen, I was just saying I didn't see our points generating from point blank misses.
  11. I wasn't for sure. I only knew he won once but looks like he did win twice. Not suprising at all
  12. Well you sure didn't seem like you liked the thought of PC being better than BTW. (Not saying that they are because I've haven't seen either play this year, and won't till next week.) But maybe that's just bc some Memphis people can't stand the idea of having anyone besides Memphis teams beating them at the sport they are best at. Especially to such a little town. *Just for your info,y'all is a conjuction of you and all, that many people use- especially in TN, so you should know what it means.
  13. I hope BTW blows Perry County out and continue to press, just because of you. You act like a kid that gets bullied all the time, that ran home from school everyday. I think you have short man's syndrome, the need to feel tough, because girls use to beat you up. Real champions talk about "NOW". Perry County doesn't have a "NOW" factor. They are a has been. Period! I hope Newby dunks on Perry County likes this. Wow, that's really not necessary. This site isn't for bullying, it's for discussions and open debates. If you can't handle a simple statement that they beat someone I'm guessing y'all didn't, you really shouldn't be on here. The fact he stated was to show how good PC can be and to say that they can run with AA teams. If you don't agree, fine. But personal attacks are just childish.
  14. Malcolm was a finalist twice and won once, didn't he?
  15. Malcolm and Martin Smith. Malcom is playing at Lipscomb if I'm not mistaken and he has been doing great, especially for it to be his freshman year. I'm pretty sure nobody let Malcolm get away, I just don't know much about what he did after high school. They both were awesome to watch, just didn't want your team to play against them. Lol
  16. I disagree by far. The game wasn't exactly the best for our boys seeing our main 3 shooter took a little bit to warm up and our post got fouled out & was missing shots he has been making all year, but McEwen still pulled out the win by 14. I didn't see anyone McEwen couldn't/didn't answer to. Most teams would have lost their composure at an 0-11 run, but our boys came back big- time to lead with 9 at half time. As far as those point blank misses? I must not have been at the same game. How about those swished 3's from Hooper and Mullinicks with guys right in their face? Collinwood is a good team and I give them props for making it this far but McEwen has a higher talent level that didn't truely shine tonight. Stay tuned with McEwen, would love to see them shock you by playing the game they play normally in state.
  17. Ehh, we have one starter under 6". Then two about 6''1 or 6"2. The other two about 6"4. Two tall subs for the post as well. I don't really think it's size for our starters. All 5 starters can shoot, inside or 3's. Post has great moves inside as well. They go for the rebounds and are a quick team. Not to mention, when they need a tight man-to-man, they can own it. They have offense, defense, and agility. Size is a big factor for the subs. Their size allows them great opportunities they wouldn't have otherwise. But as for the starters, no.
  18. Glad to hear PC won. Now let's see what happens in state
  19. Yea C-Wood was up by 11 I think until McEwen started their come back. Score is 25 to 16 at half time, McEwen up.
  20. My mistake, I read online that the enrollment was 345.
  21. McEwen only has 320 students in the school. Slightly smaller than Collinwood. People just have family coming from all around and wavo and dickson people are expected to come. 2 hour drive means little to McEwen. Basketball is our main thing. I'd say we had a few hundred at least at Summertown last year. McEwen students cheer big for the team. I see it rattling C-Wood big time.... But, I hope to see a great game tonight never the less.
  22. I'm disappointed. McEwens cheering section is great and we love to have a competitive cheering section. Collinwood people that are coming, bring your school pride!
  23. McEwen has already sold 765 tickets of there 1000 and its only 9:25. 235 left, should be out soon, warriors get your tickets! Hope to hear Collinwood sells all 500 of there's.
  24. Farmer is definitely a stand out to me. I'm not sure which one spears is, I'm guessing #5 or #3...like I said, they stood out in the WHH game ...just had an off night against McEwen. I want Perry County to win, but MTCS isn't out of the running yet and if I were PC I wouldn't underestimate them. If they come in there wanting it bad enough, bringing that fire, and are on their A-game, an upset can happen. I'm pulling for PC but Best of luck to both teams.
