Have watched Ensworth play a few games they are a fun team with some future D1 contributors. I have Pope Prep winning D2AA due to excellent guard play, 3-point shooting and intensity on the defense. D2AA is as strong as it's ever been and will be an exciting 2 months of hoops!

While I'm here...we need to institute the restricted area into high school basketball. 1) For player safety. 2) It should eliminate most of these block/charge calls for officials where they basically flip a coin and make a call.
Good point dirty.

I wish TN would adopt the same format KY high school hoops has the state Tournament. Those would be some unbelievable match ups if you included Dll-A and Dll-AA.

PCA will be a powerhouse. Tough matchup with just about anyone in the state.
keary is back at GP? thought he was at oak hill academy?
-
DB and beech will advance to play each other, lebanon and cane ridge will advance which should be appointment TV. way back on 11-16-21 CR beat lebanon 71-47 much different lebanon team now with a thirst for a championship. not sure if hall will be guarding miller which will forsure get him in foul trouble if he can stay on the floor this game should be close. going to have some big time D1 players on the floor dont miss this one

1A clay co
2A power center
3A fulton
4A clarksville

This is great matchup w two teams that can go. I have lebanon winning 70-66 should be a packed house @ hhs better get there early.
-
5 times might be unachievable but averaging 85 points isn't out of the question if the coach lets them run and gun.
-
goodpasture is a team to watch out for if the pieces fall into place you could see them in the boro battling for the ship.
-
Goodpasture is sure to make some noise in single a for heavens sake they will score 100 at least 5 times this year they have the talent and coaching to compete for a state title and that's the bottom line because wannabee said so.!!
-
1- Goodpasture
2- White house
3- Macon County
4- Sycamore
5- Greenbrier
6- Westmoreland
this is what i believe the final standings will be
-
this is ridiculous goodpasture baseball and softball might not ever lose a state championship ever again plus volley ball but i know football is king so it does not really matter.
-
What's everyone think?
Should be a good game but sycamore should win the game if they swing the bats well
-
Goodpasture tied with Chattanooga Central 1 to 1 in the season. Anybody can win the state this year in AA.
You are right I didn't realize that game I have lost all confidence in gp now
-
i just cant see any of the teams mentioned in this thread being able to compete with goodpasture
-
With Newman back completely healthy Goodpasture will walk through the district. Newman and Brenzie on the mound along with Rhoten and Newman in the middle of the line up. Holy Smokes.
agreed holy smokes geez the goodpasture team could be very good this year if they play to there potential and have zero injuries
-
HEY HEY HEY this is what I say:
1. Sycamore
2. Goodpasture
3. Greenbrier
4. White House
5. Macon
6. Westmoreland
i think goodpasture will win district but greenbrier i think has a better chance than sycamore at 2nd place
-
1.Goodpasture
2.White House
3.Sycamore
4.Greenbriar
5.Macon County
6.Westmoreland
I see Goopasture moving on to the state tournament. They have a returning pitcher that sat out most of last year from elbow problems, and their team is full of good bats.
you spelled GREENBRIER wrong
-
I have seen Greenbrier (three times), Sycamore (twice), and White House (once..... and Friday night will be te second time) in person and I can tell you that Greenbrier is very capable of beating either Sycamore or White House.
I'll also have an opportunity to see Westmoreland in person at a Holiday Tournament in Watertown so I'll give you a gauge on them at a later date.
From what I saw:
Sycamore's best player is Waller. White House's best player is Layman. Greenbrier's best player is Peach. Of all three of those guys I'd say Peach is the best all around player and the only one who could go off for 22-25 points on a nightly basis.
any player is capable of going off for 25 if that player shoots 29 times.
-
if by wannabee you mean yourself, then yeah wannabee, but nobody else but you
I guess we won't know until it plays out
-
Macon County will be very strong this year, losing only 1 starter and 1 player who came off the bench. I look for them to win this district and quite possibly make a deep run into the playoffs.
If by deep run you mean first round of region then yea deep run but not any further than that
-
what division is Goodpasture in? I was thinking they were AA and they looked good at the Choo-Choo. Also Farragut beat Soddy, a couple of weeks ago at the Choo-Choo.
goodpasture volleyball will win state "bet that"
-
You are correct wanabee, Thacker has grown a few inches since last year and is about 6'4" 200 lbs. He is a complete player now with outside range and a strong inside game. Could be a strong contender for POTY.
with thackers mature body type i dont see many players in the districk bein able to physically match up with him only ones that come to mind that might have a chance crouch comma grace comma and rhoten comma thats a big might tho
