Hickman Fairview Creekwood Camden and Lewis toss up

It's like being in two different countries down here brother. Even the kin hate each other if they live across that line, well during sports anyways. I personally like East High better as far as the school goes. Way more easy going over there than it is at Centerville. Us fans have to get a little trash talk going, or where is the fun? 2 more days !!

What kids does East have that our being recruited? didn't think so. We will see Friday night who has more talent. Those boys will show it on the field.

Can and Will are two completely different things. I can jump off a bridge... Will I ? Highly doubtful.

My mistake, I stand corrected. Fairview does not have any posted period. I know many coaches won't do it bc it gives a sense of individualism. Instead of working as a team, players want to quit doing their assigned jobs and start trying to increase their stats. I know we had a few of those when I played.

May be mistaken, but did not see Fairviews stats on their team stats, but their stats are listed in state ranking, such as players ranking for rushing and passing etc.

I believe that is correct but he was not head coach at the time. His first season of head coach there was 08 season. He was head coach at Hickman from 05-07 season.

Yes, he is now back at Huntingdon, lost in a close one in the State Championship last season in 1A.

Lets not forget the younger Johnston boy, now a senior, leading the team in tackles. We will see Friday night who has more talent.

Maybe they don't go to sleep, maybe you and only the East fans think they have better talent than what they actually have. Last year, East did not have half the talent Centerville had. This year may be more equal but we will see Friday. From the outside looking in... East does not have past third round talent. I am not saying Centervillle does... But East sure doesnt. And what was I supposedly hanging my hat on? I was stating that last season east and centerville were both only second and third round teams... I was stating the talent wasnt there enough to make it past third round which neither team did. Lets name the talent for East.... #45. Watched them play in the jamboree... And he is the ONLY player on that entire team that stood out from the rest. Centerville has Roberts, Hill, and Patton. All who have better stats from last season than any kid on East's roster, and better stats on this season. And to talk about last seasons talent... If East was as talented as they claim... Talented teams do not lose every single year to Lewis Co. By 30+ points. Maybe some East fans just need to wake up, appreciate they finally have a coach that even got them into the playoffs, and open their eyes that they are not as talented and great as they think they are.

Agreed, I say he done a good job earning it though taking them to the second round last year. No disrespect at all, I respect East's program, and their kids. But as far as talent went last year, they were no more of a championship team than Lewis or HC was last season. They were second and third round type teams. And that's exactly where both East's coach and Hickman's coach took them... Second and third rounds. No disagreement for this season though, no excuse to be 1-2. I will say they lost to two very tough teams so far... But they should have hung in closer with both of them. Coaching and players both to be blamed for that in my opinion.

He has done many positive things over here. Turned our program around. In talk of good coaches here... Eric Swenson was a great one. Was not here long but during his 3 years he set our team up for great things.

Wait and see how well they play first half.

Don't count on it. They play a tough first half then don't even show up for second half. They have good size and good speed. I was shocked to watch how well they played us the first half (scoring 10 and only giving up 10 points) and then to watch us put 35 points on them second half. They dress 60+ kids as well. They may play you guys different, but they are a decent team, I thought they played us much better than CreekWood did.

Hoping for it ! Too early to tell yet. Need a little smack talking to happen to help pass the week by.

Lol I was all with you till ya said "win fairly easy", Centerville is full of talented kids this year too. I'm not against you in the fact East should be doing a lot better this year. Definitely something up. But you'd be surprised what a little respect and backing of the coach can do for a program. When Coach Patterson was here at HC, he got no respect from some of the parents here. The high up people were constantly on his and Coach Courtney's back anytime they didn't win. It destroyed our program until they had enough, left, and Rewis came over. But to say East could win fairly easy if not for coachig? I doubt it. East had the same plus more talent last year and could only pull it out by a point in the first meeting. Lost by 6 the next meeting. No decent coach is even going to look at coming to East until they see the parents, kids, and staff will give them respect.

Gotta pull for LC in this one. Don't know much about Camden's program. Always been close to Lewis and some of their coaches.

Time to get it started. East Hickman obviously always plays us very well. Ever since I can remember, even when they first opened and had very very little talent (most stayed at HC), they came out play #1 and hit us in the mouth till the last seconds rolled off the clock. No matter the score they were always pushing to score and make hits. With that being said, considering both teams have quite a bit of talent this should be a great one to watch this week. I say it will be another bail biter like the two from last season. Obviously HC is better coached, I would say even some East folks will admit that. I say HC wins 35-28. Somewhere around there... Expect to be decently high scored no matter who wins.

Sounds like it. I was surprised by how many kids they dressed out.
