Ill have to admit, I was a little nervous about this upcoming game while i was watching the Pirates put up 70 pts, however, one thing the gville coaches said pretty much put me at ease. But itll have to wait til Friday so the boys from Marion dont have time to change their game plan. Stay tuned

Since the first game when these two played, i think Eagleville has gotten better and i think Moore Co has topped out. Eagleville, the Tigers will see you next week in a rematch of last year's game.

Actually, they have. Cason is just a more compact version of the Polk Co running back.

One thing is for sure, "you cant fix stupid". So regardless of speed, i hope the pirates can clean up stupid penalties, stupid turnovers, stupid blocking or lack there of, stupid mistakes, stupid etc. Bring your best; the home team is rested, prepared, and ready. LETS GET IT ON.!.

Nope, however, truth be told; in the early 70's i lived in South Pittsburg. Sister was born in Jasper. Dad worked for TVA. We left there around '75. See there is hope, its not once a pirate, always a pirate. I made it out. As a matter of fact, ill probably be sitting with a good friend that lives here but is from Jasper. She hasnt decided which side to sit on yet. She's pulling for Gordonsville but has friends and family on the SP side, and her nephew IS a pirate. If you see any blue and white amongst you, it may be me. Roy, bring an extra thermos my friend.

Clarification. I saw them play at Polk on Tssaa network, watched every minute. And the reason why the Gville coaches left at halftime was because theyd scouted the pirates the week before and were there to scout CA, just in case. When the game was in hand, there was no need to stick around. The Tigers know what theyre up against. As with the post earlier of the vikings coach, the tigers feel the same way "they are who we thought they were." By the way, you know why Polk lost that game? Because they stopped running up the middle. South Pitt was getting pushed around in the second half and Polk coaches tried to get cute and it got them beat; Gville wont make that mistake. The pirates could be in for a whole game of what Polk did to them in the second half of that game. Two more days, i cant wait.

South Pitt is the 2nd best team we'll play. The only team on our schedule that could beat them is Fcs. South pitt is prolly equal to Smith Co (we just didnt play well in that game) and Westmoreland had a D that could keep them in the game with the Pirates. Then SP was definitely better than Trousdale (no offense slim). Ambassador, i saw them at Polk and sat with the Gville coaches at the Columbia Academy game, ( well, for a half anyway, sibce thats when they left)

Just to justify my statements, i have seen South Pitt play twice this year, so im not talking out of my butt. The line play will be HUGE in this game, and if Gville prevails, i believe thats the explaination thatll be sounded from the crows nest.

Competitiv, yes; South Pitt, the edge ( with that defense) ? You probably thought Romney was going to win last night too. I'm going to label this upcoming game "Reality Check Friday"

My prediction may change but like 52 to 46 kind of game. Gville has too many demons to exercise with this team to expect to stop you more than a few times. Especially with as many times as i expect south pitt to go for broke and attempt 4th down conversions. Itll be an all night long battle. On the injury front, i remember your #15 last year, limping around the field but being crucial to the pirates victory. So, whoever you line up, we better be ready.

Oh, i expect the pirates to light it up too. Just not as much as the Tigers.

Only 6 more points than we put on Friendship? I think friendship's D is alot better than the Pirates. I think this is going to be a high scoring game even if you're correct with your 14 pt spread.

Nope, this is it. All or nothing. And now that im officially depressed for the next four years, i really can't wait til Friday night.

Are you serious, because that truly stinks if these players are hurt? They're fun to watch and I was looking forward to watching them compete Friday night. Last Friday night i kept nudging my daughter, distracting her from her phone to tell her to pay attention because they could take it to the house on any play. Three straight times i did that, three straight td's. This friday, I'm going to just let her keep texting. Lol During South Pitt week you never know what is truth and what is chain yanking. My memory has gotten worse the older i get, but i seem to recall this same type info before last years game.

On the offensive side of the ball Gordonsville owns the middle, while South Pitt owns the edge. On D; Gordonsville is just better than South Pitt (even if they play the perfect game the Pirate fans have been hoping for). I guess we're about to see if the old adage is true; does defense really win championships?

What they do have is that Medley man, and he's no joke.

If both teams play "like they have all year", then you can expect a score similar to Boyd/South Pitt; however, if either team strays from their "norm" then anything can happen.

I for one am not convinced of Gordonsville's invincibility, i.e. Smith Co, week 1. I do think the Tigers are the better team this year, but when you have gamebreakers like South Pitt, there is always the punchers chance. GVILLE must control the line and bottle in Lankford and Johnson. I think a very high scoring game is coming, the difference is that Gville will stop the pirates more than the pirates can stop Gville. I definitely dont see a blow out, i see a game of the ages..., epic!

Having seen all the teams play live, there's not much fear in that. Gordonsville or South Pitt will mercy rule Moore Co or Eagleville; you can take that to the bank. Fyi, don't be surprised if it's Eagleville.

Friday cant come soon enough. It's been a long 365 days! I'm expecting a massive crowd. Besides being a huge game, most of the local teams got kmocked out early and they need somewhere to go.

I had a different perspective on next weeks game, but if a Gville fan said we'd mercy rule South Pitt, then it must be so.

Well, owl fans, fairview is on their way. I just spent the last 30 minutes fighting the Monterey Wildcats for food at Ryans in Lebanon, they finally move on and low and behold here comes the Fairview buses. Geez, better grab dessert while i can. Anyway, good luck to the owls tonight, win one and put the past to rest.
