  1. It should be a better game this time around. The Ezell Harding Lady Eagles are a very talent group of players...hopefully as they play more games together they can find better team play and chemistry among themselves. It should be a good game...I'll be there.
  2. Here are the matchups and times for the games on December 28th at Ezell Harding Christian School for the ladies. 10:00am Friendship Christian School vs Donelson Christian Academy 1:00 pm Portland High School vs Columbia Academy 4:00 pm Middle Tennessee Christian School vs Aaron Academy 7:00 pm Ezell Harding Christian School vs Coffee County High School
  3. Here are the matchups and times for the games on December 28th at Ezell Harding Christian School for the boys. 11:30 am Friendship Christian School vs Donelson Christian Academy 2:30 pm Portland High School vs Columbia Academy 5:30 pm Middle Tennessee Christian School vs Aaron Academy 8:30 pm Ezell Harding Christian School vs Coffee County High School
  4. That post player back in the 5-6th grades played at Ezell Harding with Austin Gee, Zion and Zeke Mckinney and his name is Ryan Hardin and he worked really well with this group of guys from Ezell Harding. In fact the team they played for was known as the Seekers a team that averaged about 40 games a season and were very competitive with most teams they played. Kinda wish Mr. Hardin was back at Ezell ... we sure could use him. He a great kid...and Station Camp is a good team...at least I know they routed Ezell last season.
  5. If Corey Teague leaves...it could be the real story for the rest of the season for the Eagles. Not only because of the game against FCS but because of their hopes for winning the DII East A Division. Incidently there is always the possibility of another matchup with EHCS and FCS in the Mid South Christmas tourney at Ezell next week...either in the winners brackets or loser brackets. Anyway back to the Teague story...D2A is right...Teague is our only legit post who has greatly improved since last year...especially in the 8-10 foot range and getting open in the paint. The rest of the team works hard to allow Corey to be the high pt man for the season and Mr. Teague has not let them down. What really is gonna hurt is the fact that with the big win at Know Webb...things were looking good but with games at the Web Feet, FRA, DCA, and USN looming...well I like our chances better with Mr. Teague in the lineup and the team "CHEMISTRY" the Eagles are enjoying currently. And well I also like the fact that Corey would be around for at least another year after our 3 seniors depart this season. But we will see how this unfolds in the next few weeks. FCS and EHCS typically have great games...with or without Corey...it still should be a good one the question for Ezell is "Who will step up next?" I will let you know cause I'm gonna be there...I'll be the one behind the video camera. Don't you just love the drama in High School Basketball.
  6. The Eagles made the road trip up to Knox Webb with a 7-1 record to find Knox Webb way down from the talented team of last year. Also they come to Knox Webb without one of the their best players who I believe I saw in crutches...though I don't know his name...I believe he played with the Tn Travelers last season. The Eagles struggled early falling behind at the half by I think a half dozen pts. Ezell trailed most of the game till late when both teams traded baskets and leads until the final minute. Knox Webb got a few charity shots to take the lead late but a clutch basket by Hayden Ray with seconds left tied the score and a long 3 was missed and the game went into overtime. Ezell owned Spartans in OT and took the victory. Once again the Eagles had a number of different kids step up as that seems to be the winning ways for the team with as many as 6 guys having the ability to score in any given night. On Saturday we played a very young Kings Academy in a game that was pretty much over by the half. The Eagles go to 9-1 heading into a game with Friendship and the Mid South Christmas Tournament that is being hosted by Ezell Harding during the Holidays. There might be some breaking news coming out soon..but we're gonna hold out on that information to see if it happens. It is still a lot of fun.
  7. Actually it depends on how you look at it! We have played a couple of games vs Pleasantview Christian, Riverside, others down the road well may not be very good games. Believe it or not for most teams beating a team by 50 pts is not nearly as much fun as a 17 loss. The game shows the guys what they need to work on to be a better team and it also provides a guide as to just how good they are. Sure we would have like to won. It would have been huge. But we did not...so we move on. I say we...I'm only the video guy and dad. LOL.
  8. Hey thank you for that one!!! The kid had to bounce back after 2 quick turnovers to start the game. He has gotten a chance to play and I have to say I think he is performing well considering he is just a sophomore...and a small one at that. He plays with a lot of heart, hustle, and I think knowledge of the game. After the game he came out with a battle scar and remembrance of the game some MBA kid got him with a fingernail from his chin to his ear...never seen anything like that before. Looks like a bad shaving job. Actually I think it is going to be a good year as long as we can stay away from the flu and injuries.
  9. Well it didn't start very well for the Eagles allowing the Big Red (that is no understatement either well except for their mascot the dog) to go up 10-0...the fact that Ezell regrouped to tie it 10-10 says a lot about the fight in the Eagles game. And it looked like we must have played MBA even through most of the 2nd half. After our post player picked up 2 fouls in the first four minutes things got a little messed up as far as Ezell is not deep enough. Gotta give the guys credit despite getting about 15 shots blocked they continue to take the ball inside and maintained their own style of play on offense. I wished we could have mixed up the defense a little though as the Eagles never did find the answer to Howard (26 pts) and the rest of the MBA team. The little guys have to box out...and we did not. Gotta love the fact that we had five guys around the 10-12 pt mark...they just needed to be around the 14-15 range on a night like tonight. Even in a 17 pt loss...I think maybe a little respect was earned and maybe even more was learned by the Ezell coaches and players. I still love this team alot...but then we got a vested interest in this one.
  10. Beating BA was definite a good night..the boys played very good hitting 23-35 shots from the floor and getting a huge differential in free throws...it was a good victory for the EHCS Eagles.
  11. I would agree with you here. You do have to look at it realistically...you have MBA #1 last year, #2 rated in Middle TN in todays Tennessean, a school historically has it's pick of some of the best athletes in Middle TN, who have been DII for a long time. It could be a very ugly game and 20 pts that might be pretty generous. But this guy...I'll be rooting for the underdogs in this one. The Eagles don't have much to lose in this game...but maybe all to gain.

  13. Although a huge Ezell fan I am also a huge fan of some of the boyz at BA and I agree that the BA team will definitely come around. EH was very hot and had a lot going our way. There was also a big differential in fouls too...some of the BA guys may have not actually made the change from football just yet. I think Ezell played above their potential where BA may not have up to their potential...it seems like sync might have been an issue...they played a ton of guys where ezell played 8 but mainly only 6. Here is a post that would fit in about the Eagles. Gone are the two Seniors Lance Capitano and Lucas Reed the two leading scorers on the 2009-10 Eagle team. Returning for the Eagles this season Seniors Hayden Ray, Blake Mitchell, and Bryan Duncan. Juniors Corey Teague, Zach Jenkins, and Brandon Lee, and Sophomores Austin Gee and Zion Mckinney should play significantly this season for the Eagles. Time will tell how good the Eagles will be but they are off to a fast start at 5-0 with wins over Nashville Christian, John Pope Paul II, Hume Fogg, Pleasant View Christian, and just last night Brentwood Academy. Ezell plays MBA next week and plays in DII-A which has a number teams from good to poor. So far it has been a team without a "STAR" player but a team that plays with a "Team Concept". Currently at team that has 6 players avg 10 pts per game. It is the most excitement for the boys teams since the Terrell, Davis, Owen days in the early 2000's. Well...it is still early in the season. Go EAGLES! MBA...Barn burner...gotta be realistic here. With 5 guys 6'4" or better well who knows for sure...but we'll be rooting for the little guys in this one. Win or lose...and if we can stay away from the flu and injury...it's gonna be a fun year.

  15. Steven Huff the 9th grader continues to be a great player...he is 1-0 as a pitcher, already has 2 long balls, and a bunch of extra base hits. He's pretty good and has my vote for best. Mr. Gee
  16. Hey, Why doesn't Ezell-Harding recruit more in basketball? What happen to all those fingerpointers this time last year? Rumor has it that this A.J. Blackburn kid was spotted in a church league and brought in just to finish out the season. You guys look silly now cause it is silly to point fingers at a team that was 0-13 and say they recruit now isn't it. Here's the sad thing about the Ezell-Harding basketball program. The Class of 2003 I think and most people will agree is the most athletic class that has ever been at Ezell-Harding Christian School. They have been a huge part of the reason for a football state championship and 2 runnerups state championships in basketball. (I'm talking boys for now, but the girls side is also very athletic also) Did you know that on the 2001 team there were 10 sophomores on a Varsity team that finished as State runner-ups? And all those players that were on that team still go to Ezell-Harding? Is there anyone else out there that believes that if these boys were still playing together they would have not only been contenders this year, but would have won it all last year? Just my thoughts. As for A.J., Austin, and Antoine, we're glad you're back, you are making it worth our money to stick around for the boys game now. Good luck the rest of the season EHCS Boys and Girls! D.Gee
