I do apologize to you for accusing you of coach bashing. I looked the wrong post and I realize now that I made a mistake. And I apologize for the way I write on here. Like I said before I am using a phone and I really don't care what it looks like. I treat it like a text besides this is not about me or the way my posts look. This about rhea county football witch I will support any way that's in my power. I got on coacht to discuss football all not to be degraded or judge. If you don't like the way I write don't read it because that's the way I do it.

WARNING!!!! to anyone attempting to comment on the Rhea County topic on coacht. Please for heavens sake be sure not to let your sentences run together or put quotation marks,exclamation point,period or anything else out of place unless you want to be judged by Eaglepride1. This person has already judged and criticized coach Greene and gunslinger. You could be the next victim if you don't take the warning seriously. Also don't treat this like a sport forum, try to make it like its a english paper because it will be graded.

Do you really think that I care what people think of me.maybe im doing it for a reason. If it make you head hurt don't read it and if you want to talk trash about our current coach then don't pretend to support the program.

How could he stay positive with them when there hanging signs up in the locker room that says we want Fitzgerald back? The younger players like the guy.

Wasn't pointing out any talent that quit the team and I didn't say anything about why they quit the team.the fact of the matter is this is the last season was the smallest group of players I've ever seen on that field, they were out size and out maned in every single game. But that's not the players fault I blame the past coaches for not having any kind of weight program. Anyone will tell you that they looked like boy vs.men out there and its been that way for several years.I remember talking to Fitzgerald about the weight lifting class they had at 6th period and how they canceled it , in fact that's one of the reasons he give for stepping down.big deal so they took his class away."stay after school " that what you get that supplement for.Horton, Hammontree and Payne all stayed after school and we worked out hard even at 6:00 am before school started.plain and simple it takes commitment from everybody.we had linemen when I played that could swat 500 pound and could bench 300 plus and had some talent but not what you would call loaded but my four years we never had a loosing season won a region title and made a run in the playoff every year and even after my class had moved on.my opinion big strong players will make up for lack of talent any day.

The last post was for whoever said that cleveland was committed to there program.

Committed? This is the first proven winning head coach they have got sense Monroe and that was back in 95'. We did give the job to a proven coach but he didnt want to stay. For the money that a head coach makes in this county we probably be need to be glad we got who we did.Rhea county will never be able to afford a good coach like Rankin or Monroe or someone that has been there and won that,at least not the shape this program has been. Give this man a chance! he has this team going in the right direction as far as I can see.they are hitting the weights as hard as I've seen them in 15the years and we have a good group of young men coming up from the freshman squad and also the class behind them is pretty good too.If he can build this team back to were they used to be then the money will come ,the more you win the more that people in the community will get involved but it won't happen over night.last season was bad but you have to look at like this, this coach had just a few weeks to get a staff together before practice started then he had a bunch of his players quit throughout the first couple of weeks in the season and the tallent level was way down,even for Rhea county standards,so no one really expected a good year, If you did you probably need to go get therapy. Then on top of that we played a pretty ruff schedule.so come on people get with the program and support the program give the man a couple of years before we put him on the firing line. this coach was not my first pick either but every coach has to get a start somewhere. If we give him his chance he might turn out to be a winner.

I heard the same thing, but I also heard that it was over with that they decided not to press charges.

Why would he? If he can build a winning program why would he want to leave. The money will come if he can get this program back on track.

Im not affiliated with your school but I will have to disagree with whoever thinks that you could win with any coach. It don't matter what you have done in the past if you have a good coach you better find a way to keep him happy.your school has won a whole lot of games over the years and you have been blessed with good coaches to, probably more than any school in the state.you just never know what kind of coach you will end up with if Rankin does leave.it take a good coach head coach to win like you all have over the years and If I were a supporter for your school I would do everything I could to keep that guy around because not every coach can do what he has done on a public school salary.good luck to you guys.

He is the best I've seen play in Tennessee high school and I have no affiliation to the school. If he stays health he could punch his ticket to any college he wants.

Rhea county fans let's give our coach a chance!let's see if he can build this program back to a state power.let don't judge him after only one season.I believe what will help this program more than anything is to get involved with it and not only during football season.drive up or give the coach a call and see if there is anything that you can do to help out.volunteer your time or make a donation.and also encourage you kids to play, this county once was football crazy kids dreamed about playing and being like there friday night heroes but it seems that somehow that has been lost.there is tallent at that school but they just need someone to encourage them to get on the field.for me football was the best thing in my life during high school and like myself anyone that ever played at RC wishes they could go back and do it again.

I know one that would come back in a heart beat but only as a head coach and its not Ballard,he has it made in Greenville and that's where his wife is from.he also has some millionaire feeding his program getting him anything he needs.he is still a Golden Eagle by heart but why would he want to leave.

I would like to see our eagle fans get behind this staff and not be so negative.who cares what happened in the past.from what I here he is doing some good things up there.he has these young men hitting the weights hard.

I am new to this forum but I am green and gold through and through and I have to say that im not a big fan of coach green just because he's not a proven winner as a head coach. If it were me doing the hiring this past summer I would have hire someone that has been there and done that successfully, but with the money Rhea County pays that's really wasn't possible. But I will give him a chance I'm not going to throw him under the bus after one season.I hear rumors all the time about how some of the players don't like him and they put up a sign in the locker room that said we want fitzgerald back and also about the incident on the practice field. I also know that he had at the least 30 players quit on him throughout the season. So I ask one of the sophomore player what he thought of the new coach and he said that he was a good coach and he liked him he also told me that he (the player) had worked harder than he ever has. So I say to him what's with all the bad rumors and what up with all the players quiting and he said that most of those guys got to do whatever they wanted with fitzgerald running the show and coach green comes in and tries to discipline these guys and the don't like it and they try everything the can to make him look bad.sound to me like those players had it made with the old staff and they don't with Greens.
