  1. We didn't get pushed around. The wildcats moved the ball well, 3 drives that were in scoring position, 2 inside the 10, were stopped due to number of plays. 14 was exciting to watch.. he should get the ball, he's a play maker. Not sure about how many snaps he could take a QB, looked like he was beat after a series tonight. I still think 13 was solid. He dropped a snap, but other than that, completed every throw and pulled down a bad throw and ran the ball. Maybe a multiple QB situation, 13 for posession, and drives, 14 and 2 for situational palys. SD was flippin HUGE on he line!!! This was a good test for the cats. By the way....I really like how 36 runs the ball. Don't know his name, but love his swagger.
  2. Maybe it's just me, but it sounds like Oak Ridge has some good years coming up!! Turner was the same type of BB player, quiet but hustling and always in the place he was supposed to be.
  3. I agree again. It's funny, I thought Turner was the quiet performer on the basketball court when he played. Henderson should play college hoops if he keeps working hard, man he can play some round ball.
  4. I'm no coach either SS!!! I think the safety and corner slots need to have some toughness, a "chip on thier shoulder" so to speak. I honestly don't know, does Henderson have the mean streak? He def. has the ability to cover a lot of ground and make some plays....no doubt.
  5. That's what I understood as well. I don't have a problem with that decision. He seems to make better decisions than the others and he has "paid his dues" playing for Blade when the other QB contender wouldn't put the work in that Blade required. That, in my opinion, earns the starting spot. I think he's a better QB anyway. Henderson is a great athlete and should def. be used as a situational QB but not an every play guy.
  6. It's going well...progress with such a limited amount of experience will be slow but it will happen. The seniors need to lead, and we all know Gaddis will get the most from them. Anybody heard anything about the QB situation?
  7. I've seen some of Oak Ridges practices and I think the upcoming scrimmages will tell us a lot. The Quaterback situation will be settled I think. The Senior Young should get the start in my book. He is a good athlete, and makes better decisions than the rest of the quarterbacks. Henderson should be used at QB but only as a situational QB. JUST MY OPINION. Fadnick(?) should be a stud next 2 years!! As the season progresses, they will have several quality options at RB. Fresh legs should not be a problem for the Cats. It will come down to the O line and the defense as a whole in my opinion. Lots of speed. Wildcats shock some people and win this one!!
  8. Sat at Lincolns after the the Clinton game I think. Not sure which game now to be honest, but I guess they should really be aware of the people sitting around them. This is why I have such distain for the "bad hair, no hair" couple.
  9. WATCH THE FILM SS................ I too believe in winning with class, born and raised here in OR, that means I have a lot experience with it. I understand how emotional your reply is, that's the same reason mine is as well. I go to every game, have family affiliations with the team and school, have great appreciation for how hard the Powell team played and came back to win in our house. That too is why, when faced with men that don't have the same respect for the game, it sincerely turns my guts. I have listened to them beat thier chest and trade stories about putting Oak Ridge in thier place.
  10. What a great game that would be in regionals!! I agree with you about credit for hard work being overlooked for poor refs. It's aprt of BB I guess since they have so much to do with the outcome. My heart says go Powell!!!! My head tells me Karns by 15...
  11. AGREED 100% SS. I will be there Tuesday, and will be pulling for Powell, no doubt. Would love to see them complete the district upset.
  12. Yes Sir SS Powell did play well, worked their game plan well. I don't mean to take anything away from those hard working kids. I simply want to point out my personal distain for the two men that soiled their win with their lack of integrity. Check the film out SS...........
  13. As I sat down to enjoy another good high school BB game, my mood was soon ruined by the discovery of the crew that was to call the game. I looked at my friend and said"we have lost this game already". I leaned down to the Powell fans in front of me and told them congatulations before the ball was tipped, and told them which two refs they were going to love. My wisdom wasn't questioned by the end of the game..... The ref with the bad hair, and the ref with no hair.... got what they worked so hard for. Were this the only game these two shameless "men" called like this, I could chaulk it up to a bad night, but they have demonstrated their dislike for OR every game they call. The Powell fans were embarrassed and wished they could have won a different way. Congratulations fellas...Give the press guys a wink and a thumbs up again Tuesday night so they will know who to predict as a winner. The Wildcats had a bad night, shouldn't have given a 'small man in stripes" the chance to decide the game. Get mad, get up, and get on with YOUR season, maybe you won't get caught by the two self proclaimed "ref gods". Just ask them, they'll giggle, and shrug their shoulders like a disobedient 5th grader. I know have been there personally to see this. They are sitting drinking beer somewhere, laughing at the way they showed Oak Ridge how THEY will control a game and exchange stories about how they taught us lessons. I'm sorry to the third ref that called a great game and always calls them fairly.
  14. I have noticed bigger crowds too, always good to see these kids get support from thier communties, it's what make HS sports so much fun. I undertsand that BB is a fast sport and calls are hard to get right all the time, everyone understands when a ref gets a call wrong every now and then, some will go your way and some won't but it's part of the game. What I hate to see is refs getting too involved AGAINST one team or another. I don't mind saying there are two refs, the short haired Bob Hope wanna be last night and the little 4 foot nothing bald headed guy from Clinton are going to make it hard on Oak Ridge everytime. I have noticed in my travels that other teams also have refs that are going to call AGAINST them as well. Whoever the oversight for the refs is has seen this and, if they can't afford to get rid of them, they should atleast keep them away from the the teams they obviously can't keep biased with. Just my humble opinion.
  15. O.K. guys, I believe this "hype" about Green and the OR players is just that, and we all need to remember that the refs read these blogs and it does effect how they call games. Oak Ridge is now a marked team, getting calls against them almost every game now and all this chatter just hurts a group of kids. There was a Powell player who fouled out last night that was jawing at the refs everytime he got a foul, were that an Oak Ridge player, I'm sure we all know he would get teed up. The refs are terrible all around, some are so biased they should be ashamed. That ref we are talking about last night was awful in every game I've seen him in. When a ref calls a coach/team in question before the tip-off.....well you know what kind of night it's gonna be.
  16. I agree.....of course.. I was dodging water bottles last night!!
  17. I let mine get to me too SS....and I've got underwear older than you...lol
  18. I hate this for Schoffner!! He did not deserve the second T. He got the first T for staying on the rim a little too long and had that one coming, but the second T was just another bad "judgement call" by another shameless ref. I wish I knew his name, if so, I would certainly use it, but he's tall with short dark hair and looks like a combination of Goober/Gomer Pyle. He was incredibly biased; it was embarrassing. I would challenge anyone who has game film to argue my point on this one. He should be either ashamed, or quit for his own lack of talent. I NEVER post on the "T", but this was BAD!! Maybe my point of view was "clouded" due to the water bottles flying in from the stuudent section everyone brags about. I know that's only one kid out of many, I sincerly hope they "took care" of their own problem. BTW......WHO IS THAT 22 KID!!!! WHAT A SHOOTER!! GREAT GAME YOUNG MAN!!!
  19. I don't think SS has already put a mark in the win column for the Karns game just yet. I think that's going to be a great game, def. worth the price of admission. The Wildcats need to be careful at AC. A dangerous game if you can't keep your cool since it will seriously be tested.
  20. Went to this game and it was a great contest. I think either team would have considered themselves lucky to get out with a "W". Karns plays very fast and plays the best "D" I have seen in many years in High School ball. I look forward to the next matchup and even though I'm a Wildcat, I wouldn't be assuming any winner in the re-match.
  21. You also made false accusations about coach Green calling a timeout to set the dunk that offended you so. It was the beginning of the quarter and a play they always run. If your hoping the "comes around" is coming from AC, it could happen, not likely though in basketball. Football, maybe, but its going to take more than a fireworks show for that as well.
  22. Carolina Crazy, Im new to this, have read these for a long time and haven't responed but for some reason, now seems to be the time. The foul that you speak of, the AC player did hold on to Rian all the way to the floor and did sling him off once on the ground. I have watched this replay several times so I know this to be fact, I am assuming you have not watched the film since you have made several incorrect statements. Rian lost his cool, he has been punished harshly, and I think we should stop talking about high school kids like they are professional athletes. They are still teenagers, so in the interest of class, I would hope everyone would stop typing on here like they can't read what your saying about them. The fact that Schoffner is a great kid and player is where the accuracy of your statement ends concerning the dunk. The play was the inbound for the beginning of the fourth quarter, not some play that he developed in his evil mind to rub in a butt kickin'. It's an inbound play that they used the entire year last year. You should watch the game before you get on a message board and puke opinions like they are fact. Coach Green is vocal with the refs and his players, that's true. To call him a chump is "low rent". Just take your beatings like a man, life goes on.
