Father passed away in June and he found his sister dead a couple weeks ago. She had 2 younger kids with no fathers from what I understand . He has taken a leave of absence for this season.

Hate to see this occur. Respect his coaching alot. Fun teams to watch. Always tough to beat. Wish him well.

Elizabethton brass strikes again ..they are unbelievable. What was the logic in all of that stupidity DURING the season last year?? And then end up right back where they were ..can't say surprised though.would be hard to justify the baffling moves to players or parents

Hard to classify losing to teams at that level as "choking " you just made comment stone and Alcoa are better ..do you think Erwin has lost to team they were better than? I would say alot of teams would like to have "choked" in sub state 7 times..pretty impressive run for blue devils I think. How many teams in state have made it too sweet 16 round six straight tines and 7 out if 8 years? Probably not many.

I will give my opinion on whole Elizabethton situation. To wreck two programs after a season had started was just wrong to the kids, especially the girls. We will see at end of year if it paid dividends for either . Doesn't look like it did for boys.

What's going on with east?

Simple miscommunication had nothing to do with situation. Expectations were laid out and consequences laid out. BOTTOM line is..players quit team ..nothing miscommunicated. Players left team for trip ..players didn't start after ..players got mad and quit team.

Devils look to be doing just fine without the 2 kids that quit team.
