  1. I'm a Harpeth fan and dvr their game against Cheatham as I traveled to waverly because I couldn't get to volunteer state in time. Anyway. Harpeth is playing very good right now. Mantlo really has the guys going. They had Cheatham beat just couldn't finish. Harpeth has a really good chance to play Cheatham again in the finals. Lipscomb shouldn't be a problem. Then they actually beat PC earlier in the year. The key to beating Cheatham is getting their point I n foul trouble. If he's not on the court Cheatham has a hard time with pressure. Should be a really good regional tournament. So glad the "big cheating" CPA is not in this region anymore.
  2. What type of coach would lose any game on purpose? I understand the situation with CPA and they literally are cheating by remaining in public division. But can't see where losing any game on purpose is the right thing to do. What are you teaching your kids. Ridiculous.
  3. I'm familiar with both Waverly and Creek Wood teams. And yes they are both young. Creek Wood being the youngest. #10 for Waverly is the only senior. Smith, Dell, post and #1 are juniors. For Creek Wood, Edmonson and Turpin are the only juniors. Plunkett, Cummings twins are sophomores while #1 is just a freshman. Creek Wood should be really good the next 2 years. Also they had a post player that played earlier in the year but didn't see him the last few games I've seen them play. He could have made a difference with waverlys post. Any know what happened to him? It's a shame any either of these teams have to play cpa. As other threads have said, they clearly need to be in D2. Not an even playing field for the publics. Any way watching the CW and Waverly Tuesday night. That game could have gone either way. A few calls were questionable at the end. But look forward to seeing this regional games. Like poster above I drove to this game instead of volunteers state (Cheatham harpeth). And glad I did.
  4. I saw this thread and thought I would give my 2 cents worth even though I'm a Harpeth fan and they use to be in this district. I went and watched Creek Wood play Camden this past Friday night. Wow Creek Wood really played well. Beat Camden, I think by 30 something. Their 5 starters can play. Their bench is what will keep them from consistently beating good team. And the fact that #23 never passes the ball. Great player just very selfish. They would be a lot harder to guard if they would all pass the ball like #24 their point guard and the Plunkett kid. And 24 and plunkett don't even get a chance to shoot. And both can. 4 of their 5 starters can score. I can see why Waverly had beat them twice. Also I saw waverly play early in the year against harpeth. They also are very strong. They got a nice pick up post player. He really makes the difference for them. I can't Creek wood or Camden beating them this year. Plus they are coached very well. Over all I think Creek wood and waverly are the strength. Camden is alone at 3rd. By reading the scores in the paper, it looks like a huge drop after these 3 teams. Just my thoughts.
  5. Ok I know no one has posted on this in a while. I watched Ross Plunkett play a couple weeks ago at Harpeth and tonight I went down and watched Creek Wood play Camden. To say Ross Plunkett needs to work on defense is hilarious. He guarded Harpeth's best player and scorer which is a senior and he only scored 6 pts while he guarded him. And tonight he guarded Weed another senior and he only had 8. Not sure you have the right player. It was the first 2 times I've seen him play this year. He had 4 or 5 steals at Harpeth and 3 or 4 forced TO. Hey I'm just a good ole Harpeth fan, but I do know basketball. Heck he stole the ball and hit the layup at the end of the game to beat Harpeth.
  6. Ross Plunkett from Creekwood needs to be on this list. I seen him play this summer at CPA fall leauge. He hit 7 3s the game I watched and takes it to the basket and finishes . Hes 6'0 ft and can play both ends. He started a freshman last year and scored 15 and 19 both games I seen him play. Was 4th leading scorer in fall leauge at 20ppg. Seen it on fall leauge web site. Wish he was still at Harpeth.
  7. I have lived in Cheatham County and attended k-12 in their schools. The last 6-7 years Cheatham County School Board and the schools have lost their minds. They continually have fired or moved teachers and principles from one school to another. The current principle at CCCHS was at Pegram elementary 2 years ago. Harpeth Middle got rid of the principle and vice principle last year and replaced them with unexperienced persons. When you move a 10 year experienced elementary principle to a high school, well what do you expect. I don't know the details on Dawson leaving, but if it was just simply a conflict or misunderstanding between him and the principle then that is just ridiculous and something needs to be really examined. Dawson coached through some tuff years and I hate he's not going to be able to finish with the guys he has groomed for 4 years. My point is the last 6-7 years Cheatham County Schools have really dropped from an over all view point of morality. From what some of these posts have said; maybe CCSB will step up and do what's right in this situation. If I remember right didn't they do something like this to Coach Farmer at Sycamore a couple years ago. Again he was a really good coach as well. Please someone post something positive about Cheatham County Schools as I am having a hard time to think of anything.
  8. I agree totally. I am from 11AA district. Cheatham was by far the best team in 11AA and our region which is 12AA. I watched Creek Wood play East Lit early in the season. East Lit beat them 55-50. Other than Creek Woods point gaurd everyone on East Lit was way more athletic. CreekWood slowed it down. Tonight I was in the stands at Cheatham. Cheatham had the size advantage, but East Lit was just to athletic and fundamental at the quard positions. East Lit plays so much more quickness and athletic teams in their district. Cheathams pressure wasn't quick enough to cause any problems for East Lit. They are used to it and even more. I really was pulling for the Cubs. I graduated from their. I think what hurt Cheatham is the fact that they pretty much rolled through their district other than Creek Wood loss and it hurt them, I think because having to play less athlectic teams down the stretch. Yes they bea Giles and Spring Hill. But we all know 12AA was a notch down this year as well. Over all both teams were very well coached and either team deserved to win.
  9. I really hate it for tthe cubs. I was sitting in the stands 30 years ago when Cheatham beat Pearl-Cohn. And I was sitting there tonight. If I remember right they started Lovell, Daniels, Dansby, Majors and Plunkett. They won at the end with a messed up time out call. Back then Cheatham was AAA and got beat in the first round of state by Briarcrest that had John Wilfohng. He had 38 pts in the game. And Briarcrest went on to win the AAA state title beating Memphis Melrose --William Bedford and crew. Melrose warmed up with one of there PG's on a unicycle. It was cool. Any way I was really expecting to go to the state tournament and watch and cheer on Cheatham. I really hate it for the boys. But it was a great season and nothing to be down about. As for Howdoitknow2. I'm glad you will finally shut up!!!!!! It would be so much more pleasant for Cheatham if you would let their play do the talking. As it did all year. Congrats to Cheatham on a great season.
  10. Keep lowering your self!!!! Keep lowering your self!!!! And it seems I'm not the only one on here that feels the same.
  11. Again, a CCCHS sports fan brings disrespect to their school, coaches, players and all their sports programs. If you proclaim that hanging, holding or displaying a sign which indicates a homosexual act, then yes I am happy to be below you by your standards. You people really need to know what hostilities you bring toward your sports teams and your school.
  12. As I said before I was wrong about it being the coach that said it. I was listening to the program and coach Dawson was being interviewed. It was my mistake as I thought I heard him say it. But it was said by someone on the radio station during his interview. Again I apoligize my false accusation. As far as Harpeth's assistant coach, personally I don't know him. For you to comment towards me about him, it does not apply to me. As far as you defending Wilson, that's your choice as well as mine to tell the facts that I know about the situation. Call it throwing him under the bus if you want too. Facts do nt throw any one or any coach under the bus. My assumtion I made about coach Dawson, well I admit that is throwing someone under the bus. I did not know the facts, I assumed. And it was a mistake. But as far as what I have said and pointed out about Wilson, It's my opinion whether anyone likes it or not. And I know what I have said and it is and was not based on assumptions. I know the facts. That being said my whole beef is with CCCHS fans getting on here and lowering your teams respect through arrogant, bragging comments. Dude CCCHS talent level is clearly hands down way above everyone in the district. That doesn't mean they are going to hammer everyone in every game in 11AA. Creek Wood is an example of that. Yes I think Waverly will win Tuesday, but I hope CCCHS does. It's my county. And that's not a hack at you. Just a simple evaluation.
  13. thanks for the update. It never was reallu clear what happened on the radio.
  14. You know howdoitknow2. Someone has told me who you are. I argued with them saying there is no way it's him. But they assurred me. I couodn't believe it. I have lost all personal respect foe you as a person. This is not how you act in real life. Your parents would not be proud.
  15. Listened to Waverly and Dickson game oo the radio last night. Can someone that was at the game elaborate about the altercation between players at the end of the game? Just wondering what happened?
