  1. Southern, I also have an 8th grader pitching today and I'm on my way to Chattanooga to watch my oldest pitch against the Chattanooga Lookouts tonight truely a blessed man

  2. Southernfried,  I had two in the dugout, a Sr. pitcher pitching against Hendersonville tomorrow and his younger brother a So. pitcher who was in between starts.

MJ is not hitting very well right now.  Hopefully the Sr is on his game tomorrow...

  3. H'ville is much improved, I saw that last year.  At the first of the year out of sorts with younger players, by the district tourney, they had come together, I thought they would be good this year.

MJ was also 4-0 in tourney. Plays Gallatin Monday night..... Smith throwing for MJ, not sure who Gallatin is throwing.

  4. What's up in 9AAA?

    On the MJ side

Beat Oakland 3-2 in opener good dual between Smith and Ward

    Beat Rossview 7-1

    Beat NW Whitfield 14 -9

    Lost Baylor 4-1

    Beat Boyd Bucannan  13-2

    Beat St. Benedict 10-0

Bats coming on with 5 HR's   Pitching solid...

  5. I agree Oakland had a couple mistakes, but MJ hit a  double a triple  and I think a couple singles,  Oakland had a good hit to left, and a couple seeing eye singles on the right side.   Oakland's starter threw a good game.

I think Oakland is better than they showed.  Glad we got them early in the year.

  6. McWilliams and Franklin are both GREAT kids with equally special talents as pitchers. Having seen both multiple times against top notch competition I'm sure with continued development & health they will play at the d-1 level. Should be fun to watch each in 9-AAA.

I would hope that they find a school that has the degree they are seeking, a college coach that has a plan for them and where they can flourish. regardless of the level.

  7. Wilson Central seems to always fall below where I think they might finish.

Doyle , one thing is for sure, a lot of parents , coaches and players in HS baseball , do not fully understand what "good" really looks like..... being good in HS is a fairly easy task....
