  1. I'll agree completely. They played as a team all year long and accompolished alot together. The most successful softball team in school history and a GREAT group of ladies. All this would have not happened though if it weren't for the hard work and sincere dedication of an awesome coaching staff. Thank you very much Coach Jen, Coach Michael, and Coach Tab...You all are the GREATEST !!!
  2. Lindsey Fadnek ended her high school career today finishing 3rd in the Single-A state tournament. Her career and new state record will be marked at 1,925. Congratulations Lindsey on a great career and good luck at Marshall University "Go Herd"
  3. TennSportsFan...I would have to agree with you 100% Riverside showed why they are the favorites to return as state champions. What a Great game to watch tonight !!! If things go Coalfield's way and they are able to take care of Grace, we should see a rematch tomorrow in the Championship game. The 17 k's tonight brings Lindsey's total to 1,919 for those who want to know.
  4. It most definitely will be a very tough game for Coalfield but this isn't the first time this season she has faced some of the top teams in the state.
  5. Those of you who said Coalfield would make it to the "Boro" and play their two games and go home, we'll they are still here with wins over Moore Co and Trinity Christian and Lindsey is still sitting them down. She had 13 k's vs Moore Co and 12 k's vs Trinity to bring her total now at 1,902. For those who want to know. Keep it going Lindsey !!!
  6. Coalfield over North Greene 8-0 and also advances to the Boro.
  7. Well 3rdbasecoach it's Friday and I'm back with more updates on Lindsey. She got 20 more k's in a Sub-State win over North Greene tonight which puts her career total now at 1877. See you next week in the "Boro" !!!
  8. 3rdbasecoach, Just trying to keep the ones that are interested informed. If you are not interested in where Lindsey is at quit reading this thread. I didn't realize that keeping up with progress was repeating things over and over. Just to let you know or anyone else who wants to know, Lindsey got (16) more K's last night in the Region-2A Cahmpionship game to bring here total now to 1857.
  9. 3rdbasecoach, you didn't listen either. Midway is a team that Coalfield has to play because they are in the same region and that's what it takes to advance. I'm not her dad or mom or anyway related to Lindsey. She doesn't need promoting by anyone, she takes care of things on the field and has done so for five years now. I'm not saying she hasn't had some off times in the past just like every other pitcher who has thrown a softball. You pick who you want, but I'll take Lindsey any day on any team and compete with the best. She has proven that!!!
  10. Dogs22, you haven't been paying attention to anything that has been said. I will say it once again...Coalfield has played numerous games out of their classification. Teams such as Seymour, Mt. Juliet who I believe finished 3rd and 4th in the state last year in AAA, Unicoi Co who has been a very strong team for several years in AA and many others, check their schedule out. Out of the 43 games they have played this year only 20 of those have been against single A teams. Those games are have to plays because of district and region play. All other games have been played up. The cold hard facts are as is, she has played against some of the best in the state and against some of the best in the country in the summer and has had great success over the years. So the jokes on you for not checking your facts before you speak.
  11. Lindsey added (13) more tonight with a region win over Midway to bring her total 1841 and counting. Keep it going Lindsey !!!
  12. There is not much of a debate really looks as if Megan accomplished her record in five years and Lindsey broke it in five. TSSAA recognizes these players who get to play in 8th grade as high school students so this is a high school record. Meganin4years should have got your facts straight before you spoke. So it's apples to apples now...Sorry about your sour grapes.
  13. I'll definitely agree with you there, they all are very good !!!
  14. The numbers on her Virginia Tech bio don't really look right. It says as a senior in high school she had 137 K's and as a junior she had 345 K's Not really sure on this one.
  15. Nunley from Soddy is very good and there's no doubt about it, but so is her future partner at Kentucky Katie Henderson from Single-A Silverdale Baptist. Then you have Haley Fagan from Single-A Cornersville now at UT and lets not forget about Ivy and Ellen Renfroe from Single-A Trinity Christian also at UT. Since you mentioned it Lindsey Fadnek from Single-A Coalfield a Marshall University signee. I have to disagree with you Mr. Knowitall that all your good pitchers come from bigger schools and play tougher competition. Take a look at these successful smaller schools and see who they are playing. The last couple of years your better pitchers have all been from Single-A schools. No with all that said, lets get back to the topic. As of now Megan Rhodes looks to hold the state career strike out record unless someone knows different. Lets hear it !!
  16. You need to look at who Coalfield plays in a season. They play their (10) district games then everything else is out of conference. Just this year they have played several teams that were at state last year in AAA. Teams such as Mt. Juliet, Seymour and numerous other AA and AAA teams. They got Beech on the schedule next Thursday. So if you think they have stuck to single A only, look again. When it comes down to it, you are not comparing the number of years one plays, it's the amount of games and innings that are played. Lindsey just got her 100th win a couple of weeks ago. When you compare the others they have well over 130 wins in a career. Is it fair that one team gets to play more games per season than the others ?
  17. The same way you can compare a pitcher who pitches 35-40 games plus a year and Lindsey who has never thrown more than 30 games a year. It's not her fault that she is able to take advantage of an additional year. When you compare the amount of innings that she has pitched vs Megan Rhodes or Cat Hosenfield or many of the others she is so far behind them it's not even funny. Strike outs are only relevant to the amount of innings you pitch. IMO !!!
  18. Sorry, typo error. You know her stats ?
  19. Shelby Stinnette was up there with 1,400 K's in her career which is an outstanding accompolishment. What about Danielle Pieroni who played high school ball at GPS. Anybody know her numbers ?
  20. Coalield has not played more than 32 games in a season until this year and so far they have played 31 to date and have at least 7 more not including the tournament they are in this weekend. I stated earlier most of the district games were less than 5 innings. when you have a 14.5 K per average per game it adds up pretty quick.
  21. Fadnek's numbers include 8th grade through the present, However the amount of innings and games she has pitched is considerably less than the others involved. In district play, Coalfield has gone the distance in only a handfull of games in Lindsey's high school career. With Coalfield being a K-12 school Lindsey was able to play high school as an 8th grader.
  22. The single season record that Hosenfield has is crazy. That will be a tough one to break. I'm very surprised that TSSAA doesn't do a better job of keeping track of this info. I know Lindsey Fadnek from Coalfield has 1,700 at the current point in her senior season. She has a minimum of 11 more games left not including any extra games that Coalfieled might get in the one tournament they have left. They also have a very good chance of playing deep in the season. She could break Megan Rhodes record of 1,807 in the next week or so with an average of 14 k's per game.
  23. Kara Woods from Unicoi Co shows to have 1,100 K's on her bio at ETSU. So far it looks like Megan Rhodes of David Lipscomb HS has the career state record at 1,807 for the state of Tennessee. Post up if you know different !!!
  24. I am looking to find the total for high school strike outs in a career in Tennessee. Megan Rhodes has 1.807 listed as the Tennessee record on her bio as a coach at MTSU. She thought the Cat Hosenfield might have broken it but her record is 1,403. How about Kara Woods from Unicoi Co, anybody know how many she had in her career ? Lets hear what you have to say !!!
  25. TBALLEXPERT... Maybe, but not a very good game to go on. The Portland game was Coalfield's 5th game of the day and the ladies were wore out. Fadnek pitched all five games and was gased in the Championship game. More than likely you'll see a different pitcher that will be fresh and ready to go. Either way Coalfield will be better off for playing one if the top teams in the country no matter what the score. Game goes 7 innings with a closer score.
