  1. No, they did not. That is an accusation that is just not accurate.

I heard it with my own ears. And I have perfect hearing. I mean I came to 7 or 8 Powell games and I only heard it once but it was offensive. Though it sounds like they fixed it. And all yall stop calling me no class, liar, and that other bull crap. Until you've been to prison and see what I've seen don't calm me that junk. "Only God can judge me."

  2. I totally agree, Weiler is a very crafty pitcher that wins alot of games but Phiefer was a overpowering high school pitcher that dominated the mound every game.

I feel like Weyler is mentally more tough and he is more baseball smart. He is like a lawyer on the rubber. Very smart kid. But Phiefer I agree is the greatest pitcher in Tennessee history. I watched he since he was like 8. Phenomenal player and an even better guy.

  3. I totally agree, it just seems like the kids did what they want and when they want. The songs that they played before their at bats were vulgar and disrespectable.

A couple of them said the N word and that offends me

  4. I agree and think that Farragut and Bearden will have an advantage. Farragut has power arms...I have said all year that HVA doesn't. That will be the difference when those two play in (I think) the regional final.

I believe HVA has one power arm in Neely but that's it for power pitchers. But I'd also say that game would be a lot closer than last years

  5. OK....here is my 2 cents.

Since Pitcher of the Year has been discussed to death, I will just make my pick.....Grant Painter.

As far as Player of the Year, I think it comes down to 2 players:

Austin Smith (Halls) 6 HRs, .470 BA, numerous extra base hits, great catcher.

Colby Skeen (Powell) 7 HRs, .495 BA, numerous extra base hits, great at 3B and closer.

My money is on Halls to sweep these awards since they were #1.

    Grant Painter and Austin Smith

HVA swept halls this year though...

  6. Halls and HVA have their work cut out for them with Bearden and Farragut playing so well right now. Bearden has the talent to go far (they are mashing the ball right now) and Farragut is picking up momentum... much like they have in the past 4 years. Should be interesting but I see both Bearden and Farragut advancing.

Agreed I'm gonna say more than likely it will be Bearden at HVA and Halls at Farragut. Pitching matchups will be Broyels vs. Weyler/Neely and Painter vs. Freeman/Chambers/Raby?

  7. What are your opinions on the Halls vs. Oak Ridge game tonight? Do any of the teams have any pitching left?

I would say Halls will throw painter against oak ridge but I don't think they have anyone else for the championship game(s) I'm not sure who Oak Ridge will throw? Isn't there number 2 hurt? Maybe Skeen? HVA honestly has a cake walk left until they are district champions. I mean HVA has used 2 pitchers through 3 games. Everyone else is out of pitching

  8. I was wrong in my opinion drawn from your posts. You are really much lower on the food chain than I previously thought. Using a high school kids name and making disparaging remarks is as low as it gets. They are not paid to play and certainly should not be targets of a demented freak like you. Amazing how the ability to hide behind a keyboard brings out the worst of the worst. I will not waste anymore time on you and only hope you learn a little class.

I went college for journalism and parallelism is my greatest part of my thought process. I like to compare thinks in the strangest analogies. There was no harm intended with this post, just trying to make a comparison between the dominant pitchers in this district. But after last nights game it just made Wayler (sp.) Look that much better. I mean he had 7 ip 1 er 7 or 8 k's I dont think he walked anyone. Sorry if you took my post the wrong way but it was just an analogy with no harm intended.

    "I fly first class!"

  9. Does HVA have a legit shot at a state title? I watched both games in their tournament and I see them winning the district now easily but what about further down the road?

  10. Marc Marsh is like Petting Manning when he pitches Clinton has a great chance of winning. I really like this kid and he is ready to go whenever his name is called. But just like manning, without him Clinton would struggle. But this kid is just solid. And from the atmosphere of this Clinton crowd they are ready for another upset. Let's go Manning... I mean Marsh!

  11. Im not sure how it is legal for HVA to get home field advantage today, but i am glad. HVA practically has a profession field, and Halls field is like little league.

Ya Hva and Clinton almost would rather play at the sportspark. They are roughly the same size!

  12. There will be a coaching change at Powell. Coach Inman let me know earlier this afternoon that he has submitted his resignation effective at the end of the school year. He will continue to teach PE at Powell Elementary, and no - he won't be coaching softball next year at Powell or anywhere else.

Jeff is a good person and a good teacher. I wish him nothing but the best.

Any specific reason why? And any idea who could replace him?

  13. Let me put this in perspective

Drake is like Andrew Luck the number 1 pick in the draft because of experience and he is really good. But like Luck is overrated

Weyler is like RG3 a game changer the number 2 pick.

Painter is like Kase Kennum, he wins a lot but he won't be anything past high school.

Hagan is like Osweiler lots of potential and tall.

Durand is like Kirk Cousins he has all the tangebles.

And finally Skeen is like Brandon Weeden because how old he is but he always has and immidiate effect.

  14. HVA this year has been playing Freshman at 3rd, SS, 2nd, and sometimes pitching with Neely and Hunt. Sophomores at Catcher and CF. The rest are seniors at RF LF and 1st. It will be a good team next year. I don't know much about the rest of the district. I imagine Karns will improve. Powell will decline a little. OR will be better.

also a kid we saw more at the beginning of the year wuth he last name Sears for HVA. Freshman first baseman with 2 or 3 HR

  15. I feel like in the next couple years it will be a tight battle between HVA (young infield and neely), Karns (all around young team with potential), Powell (always good and Havana the next two years), AC (Tacket and Stookesberry will be very good), and maybe Oak Ridge (not sure yet)
