  3. I'm the Director of TN STARZ Basketball. Though it's not necessary for our group to explain what is perceived as being dirty, I want to give another perspective to consider. First, our number one goal in our program is to develop kids to play basketball at a competitive level. Second, we believe in playing the best players to give us a chance to win. WE ALWAYS ABIDE BY ALL RULES THAT GOVERN THE ASSOCIATION WE PLAY IN. WE WILL NEVER CHEAT TO WIN. As stated, we do have two girls on both our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade rosters (as do a lot of Elite AAU Teams). We also have a 1st grader and two second graders that played this weekend on the 3rd grade team. We practice twice a week as a group. This includes all of our kids that are eligible to play up to 5th grade. We play and practice throughout the year to develop the skills of these players in order to compete and win State and National Championships. We've been very fortunate to have very talented players that need to be pushed in practice and play to further develop their skills. This requires us to play them in different age groups some of the time to accomplish this goal. Again, when it comes to playing and competing for the Championships we play the kids that give the team the best chance to win as we did in bracket play at the AAU Tennessee State Championships. Most inexperienced groups in AAU don't understand the rules because they are accustom to playing in non competitive leagues. I'm sorry that anyone felt we played "dirty". I am also sorry that a good game was overshadowed by ignorance of the rules. I am very proud of our girls! This includes one of the players in question who is 8 days from being eligible to play 2nd grade and is disappointed she didn't win two Championships this weekend. If you want your child to develop the skills to compete for National Championships please check out our information at www.tnstarz.com
