1. Ask any BHS fan, playing at Bowling Green was the worst , playing at MHS will not bother themAgreed, this a championship game that should be in Cookeville. A physical game going to be won at the line of scrimmage. A lot different than last years Siegel game. A lot more of a run game here, played between the tackles. I do give Maryville the edge because of home field and they probably have a better passing game. Coaching edge will go to Maryville and also player experience in playoff games.
2 agree on GQ but lets not forget Coach Shad is now slouch 2 gold balls
3.pass game toss up

Wow, those Blackman fans travel well. They are already tailgating. The one guy is running around saying, "Fire, Fire"!
Beavis and Buthead / I need bung ho for my coolio- heard 28 seats on BHS 2nd bus left

Recorded fact: Murvil scored 56 points against Sevier Co. last Friday night in the ..
Does that also mean they will score 56 on Blackman? I didn't think so....
Oakland can put up 56 on Seiver Co.
Blackman will get its rushing yards in a big way.........but I agree with an earlier post ya do t want to start the 2nd qtr down 14 or more Pts

Yes my bad, I blame the meds ( had c2 to c6 removed , artificial discs installed with titanium plate so I'm slap happy bored ------drove to see Neyland and UT campus one year while on a biz trip and somehow ended up in Maryville - nice area and as said before I live in a destin and often see MHS football shirts walking around the area , always stop and tease them , great bunch of folks - think 2 or 3 years ago met K and his family very very good peeps .....We touch North Carolina. 1/3 of our County is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We like football.
-
Ok my badThe geographically challenged poster above, has no idea where Maryville is located.

It's always tough to pick against MHS
If I'm putting money down I go MHS
Thing is I watched them on computer, a machine as always , Qb pass yards and completion rate are Manning , Brady like numbers . The one thing I keep asking myself is MHS that good or are the teams out west having a down year where there teams are not that good. Now sorry MHS faithful that is a honest question , one that should be respected ........I guess all our questions will be answered around 915pm on Friday .......
-
Was a joke ..........Baseball??? It's November and you are asking about baseball? Man, baseball is just something an athlete does to fill the void between football seasons, and it is still football season. Sorry, I know I am not Stars, I try hard, but I could never live up to legend status...
-
Stars how is the MHS baseball team ?Thait wood bee sum mitee long trips...Eye wood haiv two git Nellie tooned upp fer shore....She's purty faist tho....

I think you misunderstood 82's post.....
I still like what Kreagar said
We in Rutherford County like to think of District 7-AAA as the SEC of Tennessee high school football. And it likely is. Put any team in the state (including perennial power Maryville) in this league and see how it does year to year.
Sure, George Quarles’ squad may still win as many championships.
But then the Maryville faithful will understand the path it takes to get to Cookeville.
However, it has been since 2008 since a Rutherford County won a state football championship.
That drought looms over those remaining in the playoffs from the county.

They better or they will be in trouble .......Are the blaze fans confident they can run the ball successfully against murvil?
Key to game is simple - Blackman D had to keep them in the game , if BHS gets behind early and they need to rely on the arm of JJ , look out...
I do suspect BHS can run i

I still don't know what to think lol. I'm with Gov, I need a drink

Was thinking Boise State? As long as Maryville is Alabama in your comparison, I would agree.....because that would not be pretty for Ohio State.

Well you got me curious so I put together the stats as near as I can figure them. The Daily Times runs a box score each week after the game. Can't tell how much of this is Garrett and how much of it is Carroll as far as yards and TDs; Carroll threw for a few after some games were in hand, and some others earlier on in some games too for that matter if I remember correctly. And they didn't list INTs at all in some of the box scores so I couldn't get those together with any hope of accuracy. Anyway here's the numbers:
vs Webb: 13-17 for 166 and 2td
vs Alcoa: 4-10 for 129 and 2td
vs West: 6-16 for 60 and 0td
vs Hardin Valley: 16-20 for 247 and 1td
vs Sevier County: 10-14 for 180 and 2td
vs Heritage: 10-13 for 86 and 1td
vs Lenoir City: 15-19 for 288 and 3td
vs William Blount: 8-13 for 147 and 1td
vs Bearden: 11-15 for 192 and 3td
vs Farragut: 13-20 for 274 and 2td
vs Bradley Central: 9-13 for 140 and 3td
vs Morristown East: 9-10 for 153 and 4td
vs Sevier County: 6-9 for 136 and 2td
Totals: 130-189 (68.8%) for 2198 yards (169 ypg) and 26 TDs
Impressive stats and how bout that 69% pass completion
Anyway the short version is that Maryville's always a balanced, pick your poison sort of team offensively, and pretty astute at reading what the defense is giving them.

nd66 eye jist hoap we cain run fer a yards wif Shawn orr Jaylen orr Jaylen orr Joel orr Evan orr John orr Cody orr Brain orr????.......
Will Mairvul thro hit az much az Bowlin' Grean???.....Eye down't thaink so.......jist my opinyun.....
Don't know how good BG Qb is or his WR (know his team averaged about same points per game as yours ) but I think that is way to beat BHS ...
But what do I know .... After all GQ is a ledgend and coach Shad 2 gold balls , should be some fun x and o chess match
-
Yes he can pass , very well . What do you mean by shut down ? As in not able to run at all ?
Think BHS will or can hold Prevo in check , just implying that the vertical game will be very important for MHS and rush defense for BHS is tough
-
Very true about that !!!! I think maybe the kid that pushed him out is heading to UT next year ... My question why did the Qb not just take a knee?Cheap shot for sure but why did the commentator need to take shots at UT? "Have fun losing in Rocky Top". (?) Ironically he made the comment while blasting someone else on class.
Anyways game time
MHS how is your Qb can he pass?
Only reason I ask is I think BHS will shut down your run Prevo or not ?

The trash talking and resulting code of conduct sermons are certainly more entertaining but back to the upcoming game analysis. I haven't seen Blackman play but in reading the DNJ article this morning, I see where Blackman rushed for 317 yards against Oakland but was only 1-5 passing for one yard. I know Jennings is a highly regarded qb prospect. Is he more of a runner than passer? Is Blackman as one dimensional on offense as those stats seem to indicate?
Disclaimer - this is not intended to be a "flame" post. I am pulling for Maryville. I know what Maryville is all about... just trying to find out a little info about Blackman. Thanks.
As of 10/22 according to Blaze web page
Jauan Jennings 77 38 770 11
I had pleasure of watching BHS and Indy play this year (BHS won 46-7)
Few things stood out / they made Vic Wharton UT 2014 commit afraid to touch the ball
The BHS d was one of the best I have seen up close, big and fast. They execute & keep their assignments well.
On O they have a big bruising /physical line with a very good running game.
JJ is a stud , almost Terrell Pryor feel to him, but I don't think he will beat you with his arm.....
In order to win I think JJ needs to complete some passes .....
MHS tighten the chin strap this will be the biggest test of the year ,and one where you will get some bumps and bruises.....
-
Maryville fans....and I am one... If you think Maryville will roll on Blackman as they have everyone else this season.....you have a surprise in store. Like it or not, East Tennessee 6a football is very weak this year. Maryville hasn't come close to facing a challenge this season like the one they will face next Friday night. Maryville will be at a disadvantage on size and speed, and Blackman's coach and staff are very good. The Rebels will play with Blackman but you are kidding yourself if you think they will roll.
Think we can close this topic MLREB just hit it out of the park with his comment ... Well done !

Last thoughts here
Blade out coached Hat in 1st half and the better athletes shinned
Coach H respected VW to much twice 1st held Indy started ball at midfield - radio said inside kicks both times
2nd half coach H made halftime adjustments
Hat went 3/5 few times nose dropped to zone and got Bunch Indy Qb off his game - thought Blade needed more VW in wildcat
Heard from someone on sideline on that 4th down pass from HHS the Indy cb Stribbling went for int and missed , thus HHS TD
Anyways very greAt game/ really feel bad for Indy
Good luck HHS -
