This old geezer can't say it enough, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Plain and simple. A great defense is going to be a great offense every day of the week. I can't explain it, but its just a fact.
I'm pretty sure the Seahawks proved that point when they played the Broncos about 10 months ago.

Both teams come from public school systems in rural counties with a small
county seat. Both teams have improved their programs considerably since having a losing season in 2011. Each team is coached by a man named Ricky who can be credited with the improvement. Both teams are steeped in tradition. Yet, each has a rival in the same county that has been to the semi-finals and finals more frequently in recent years. Each team has won 12 games this year, and each averages about 42 points per game. Both teams are certainly deserving of the gold ball. Will be a fun game to watch.

He kicked a big time 40 yarder under extreme pressure Friday. It took real guts on Coach Ross's part to attempt the field goal and not go for it on 4th. Call of the game in my mind.
That kick was a lot less pressure than the last second kick against Central last year. He is a lot more ready this year.

Someone wanted to know what other players we have besides #7. We have a rb #8 that runs around a 4.5 a wideout #89 that runs a 4.4 another wideout #5 runs a 4.5 wideout #4 runs a 4.5 a defensive back and kick returner #23 runs 4.4 or 4.5 we also have a few d-linemen that are nightmares to block. And a kicker with a good strong leg
I'm a little biased (OK I'm a LOT biased)... but I'll put our kicker up against yours any day.

Hey BooBoo If this post board is any indicator these 2 lil 2a schools will have a great turn out for our Tide and Warriors ! Safe travel to you amd all yours to Cookeville
We always tell the last person out of town to set the traffic light to flash red and yellow. The year Marion County and South Pittsburgh BOTH went to state there wasn't any one left in the county.
GO WARRIORS!

I think that rain dance is workiing already. They're predicting 80% chance in Cookeville Saturday.

I agree. I was at the fence on the other end and it was way more impressive watching him come at you. I also agree with rikberry on that kick-off return of Peabody's. I'm sure it was more exciting if you were at the game, but the tackling of Adamsville was terrible.
-
I am amazed at how poor Aville tackled on this play. Too bad there is no video of BZ's pick 6 the other night.
Ask and ye shall receive..... one pick-6 video v. Trousdale. Thanks to News Channel 9.

Before anyone asks....NO I have not seen Peabody play this year. I admit I am biased as any parent of a player should be. I don't think any of these players are gonna show up for a championship game THINKING the other team is better than them. If they had that kind of attitude they would not have made it this far. Both teams are gonna show up pumped up and ready for some smash mouth football. I said the MC vs. GCA game would be a tough one with a 7-10 point difference in the end. I think if this game is any different then one team came in TOO confident and made TOO many mistakes because of it. Now with all that said.....
GO WARRIORS!!!!!! Bring home the GOLD!

Cal Preps has Peabody winning in their simulation 35-27.
When is the last time you saw a computer nerd that knew anything about real football?
GO WARRIORS!

Winner of the east is definitely the underdog next week, hands down.
Sometimes it's good to be the underdogs. Makes them hungrier.

Kids were to report at 7:30 this morning for breakfast. Coach Ross wanted it to be like a normal school day and the kids not to lay around all day. They will be dismissed at 12 and be back at 3 is what I have been told.
My boy was actually wishing they had had school this week. He has been figity all week waiting on this game.

.......I understand people like MCRoadWarrior, MCHeadHunter, TowerDawg, DieHardPurple, PurpleGrad, 5thquarter, TheTruthPrevails, PurplePower68, BleedPurple13, BooBoo5 and others will be very excited to breathe some of the same air a legend like myself breathes. As usual, I will be available on the track for limited autographs and pictures before the game.......
I'm sorry Legend, I don't give out autographs. But if you want a picture with me that bad I'm sure I can find a moment for you. You won't be able to miss me......LOL!

Like I said that was from a coach. Sometimes they get a little pumped about their players lol. Hudl vitals say 4.69. Not sure 40 speed matters with him when it gets down to it. Not sure there is a vital for collision force. Anyone who has ever seen him play knows he would rather run over you than away from you.
Ain't that the truth. I've seen him a few times this year knock the defensive player flat of his back after he broke through the line. It's like he has a cattle catcher on the front of that train just knocking them out of the way once he gets that steam engine going.

I garuntee you instead of practicing durn football during school they need to be adding and subtracting. About 99.9% of them is going to play their last game in high school. That goes for all high schools. Instead of practicing durn football they need to be taught how to get a durn job. I ain't joking either.
For once Roy, I totally agree with you.
-
He's scored about 70 points so far this season. He's 6-for-6 on field goals with a long of 41 and has about a 56 yard average on kick-offs even with the few pooch kicks he's done figured in.
-
Glad to see him back for these games.

I look for another good old fashion slobber knocker like we had with Trousdale last week. Winner will be the one that holds on to the ball. Marion by 10.
GO WARRIORS!!!

That's what kin folk do. We argue like crazy with each other..... but just let somebody else try to start something. We quit pounding on each other and team up on the other guy. It's kinda strange that the SP fans are rooting for Marion County. I thought y'all were hated rivals
GO WARRIORS!

Those Jackets are gonna be tired of hearing that train whistle by the time they take that long ride home tonight.
GO WARRIORS!!!!!!!

What kind of mess is this? I looked in my Murphy Fair book and Murphy does not have a team named Murvul. Are you trying to trick me? Im not falling for this mess.
Roy check the section of your book where you keep finding that Jasper HS you Pirates keep talking about. I bet that Murvul team is listed there.

Food for thought....TC has not lost a game this season or last in which #5 started and finished the game
You left off the word YET.... come Friday you won't be able to say that anymore.
-
I don't think this one will be a blow out, but this Marion County team is much better than last year. Add in that they are able to focus on the game this year and that they don't have to travel, and I think Marion moves on to the semi's. Trousdale is never a cake walk, but even if they are as good as last year, I think this Warrior team has what it takes to pull out the W.
GO WARRIORS!!!!

I hope and pray JC comes out and smacks Mc in the mouth. Yes we have heard how Mc plays down hill but if you hit someone before they get going down hill you have a chance
I think Chattanooga Christian tried praying before their game with Marion Co. It helped them keep it close for about a quarter..... after that they were just praying for the game to be over with soon.

That is one of those 'political type' statements. It's all in how you look at it. If you look at the stadium as a WHOLE.... yes it was only half full.... because the visitor side was basically empty. Hixon didn't bring their band or even their cheerleaders. The home side of the stadium (the OTHER half) however was PACKED!
