  1. No, I have not personally recieved this money, but I can tell you who has... their "star" running back, Matt Peardon. One of my friends dad payed Peardons tuition so he could come and play football for them.
  2. Who do you all think deserves coach of the year in 1A? I think Coach Ryan Lewis of South Pitt. He has taken a group of young men from where they were, which wasn't bad last year, to an 18-2 record this year. This is his first year as head coach at SP and he is doing a good job. Anybody can win games when you have three people over 6'5 on your team, but SP has maybe 5 or 6 people on their team over 6'. Coach Lewis is either a good coach, or he has a very talented group of athletes on his team(which could be the case). I think Coach Lewis has to be the best half time coach in 1A. SP comes out after half time and gets the job done.
  3. You keep bringing up this record an how their schedule is so easy, but what u arent seeing is that they are 18-2! That means that they can not only beat the easy teams, but they can beat the Lookout Valleys and the Sequatchie Co.s. It is not their fault that they play these easy teams. From what I understand, It was their coach from last year that resigned from his coaching position before this season started that made the schedule, so Ive heard. Even if it was Coach Lewis that did it, you cant take away from the young men who play every night. They just show up and play ball, they dont get to pick who they play and when they play them.
  4. For all of you geniouses out there, this is what happens with the recruiting at SOME private schools (ex. Boyd B.)... It is not actually the school that is "helping" financially, its a group of parents on the schools booster club. The school overpays some parents to do small jobs so they can affford to put another kid through school. And about the South Pitt. - LV game, all of you people that are saying SP has no chance, do you not remember that South Pittsburg won the first matchup between these to??? Im not sayin that it will come out the same, but it should at least be close. I personally am not sure who will win. I would like to say that South Pitt. will take them again, but im afraid LV will be ready. I am hoping that all of the LV players, and coaches, will get on here and read all of this about SP having no chance, and think SP will just blow over. SP steps up for big games. We will have to wait and see the outcome but i think LV by 3. South Pittsburg - 54 Lookout Valley - 57
  5. First off, I have to congratulate CCS. I honestly didn't think they had it in them, but I guess I was wrong. This is how i think the district will play out. I say that CCS will hold on to 1st in the district, then South Pitt. second, then Lookout Valley third. I dont see any way a team from district 6 is going to beat Temple, but weirder things have happend.
  6. No it doesn't, and i'm not sayin that their schedule is hard at all! All i'm sayin is that just because they have an easy schedule doesn't mean that you can take away their good, hard-fought, quality wins.
  7. I know it sounds mean, but i honestly dont know if Whitwell could beat a bag of dirt. I think Sequatchie by 50.
  8. You cant "come ready for a zone", if all you have is some height down low. If you have no outside shooters, you cant win against a team that plays a decent zone. YOu have to rely on your defense to put the same kind of pressure on your opponent. In this case, if i was CCS's coach, I would play a half court sag and help man-2-man. The only exception is on Hawkins. Anybody that has seen him play, and shoot, knows that you put your best defensive player on him. You also play very tight when he doesn't have the ball, that way he cant get it. You cant score when you dont touch the ball.I personally dont think CCS can get it done. I say Lookout comes out ontop. LV- 73 CCS- 71
  9. I'm torn between the two teams. They have a mainly even matchup. While CCS has LV beat on size, Lookout has a chance for a championship, and i dont think CCS will have as much heart as LV. I say Lookout Valley by 2 in OT.
  10. South Pitt may not haved a very hard schedule at all, but look at what they have done against good teams. Marion County may not be great, but they whooped a decent Boyd team 90 - 54, and a fairly good tyner team 73 - 70. South Pitt. handled them. I dont have to say anything about Lookout Valley because yall know how good they are, and (putting aside all excuses) South Pitt beat them too. So, while they may not have a terribly difficult schedule, they step up against big teams, and i wouldn't be surprised to see them give CCS a run for their money. South Pitt has a record of 16 - 2 counting their easy win ove St. Andrews Sewanee tonigt. You have to give them some props.
  11. I have to agree with you that it will be a reigion 3 team, but ill have to dissagree that CCS is going to get it. They are good, but I personally have not seen a state-quality team from them this year. I think if anybody from district 6 will get it, it will be LV. I'm afraid that temple will get them though, but i hope not.
  12. Joe Robinson from RHMS is a sophmore. Antonio from So. Pitt is a 6'5 junior.
  13. Does anybody know how many he had against South Pittsburg?
