  1. Bingo. I'd rather him have 200 yards on 50-60 carries than 200 yards on 4-5 carries
  2. Don't book anything. This isn't a battle of Quarterbacks, it's a battle of who can stop who. I wouldn't book any result on this game
  3. I've had a bunch of time to think about this game and this is what I come to the conclusion of. If Wilson Central's run defense can stop Hurd effectively throughout the course of the entire game, they'll pull out the win. This isn't to say that Beech doesn't have other players that are dangerous and can score, but look at what Station Camp did in the first half against Beech, they stopped the whole machine. Yet, in the second half, Hurd broke loose and turned that entire game around. Hurd is the key to the entire Beech attack (air and ground) and so far when Hurd has been effectively stopped for minimal yardage, Beech can't figure out what to do (at least that's been what I've seen). The first half will be key as Wilson Central tends to like to feel opponents out in the first half and shut them down in the second. They won't have the opportunity to do that tomorrow night. Here's my prediction: If Wilson Central can stop Hurd early and hold the Beech attack through the course of the game: 24-21 WC If Hurd breaks loose, it's going to be a bit different: 38-21 Beech People aren't stupid. Hurd is the key to Beech's success. Stop Hurd, beat Beech. It's that simple.
  4. Video and radio stream will be right here http://wilsoncentral.ezstream.com/play/index.cfm?fuseaction=embstay&id=31201F0F6C&dsplvl=brd
  5. I think Hendersonville surprised Hendersonville. And I'm not really sure how Riverdale is still ahead of WCHS in the unapproved website 6A poll when they are 4-2 and have lost to Hendersonville. Especially since WC walloped Hendersonville bad. Oh well, just my 2 cents
  6. I don't see an upset, but I see a much closer game than some are thinking. Not necessarily a nail-biter, but Aric and the boys over at Portland are going to put up a fight during the first half until these legendary halftime adjustments that Dedman does are made. Second half is a much different story I was a little off with my 31-14 prediction for last weeks WCHS/CHS matchup (not too far off), this week I'm calling it thusly: 17-10 Wilson Central going into halftime 45-17 Wilson Central wins and waits for an epic showdown with Beech.
  7. Not so much. 45-7, Roundtree with 5 TD's total (202 yds in the air, 47 on the ground). Fitzgerald has 100 yards on the ground. WC rolls, as expected
  8. They've been outscored 91-20 in the first half so far this year. If it gets anywhere close to that, it'll be ugly before halftime The problem is, there has been SO MUCH smack talk on both sides this week that if WC starts rolling they're going to petition the coaches to put the foot on the gas and not let up. It really depends on if WC's coaches decide to drop the hammer or not or left up. Going to be reaaaaaaaaal interesting if the scoreboard shows a difference of 30+ points between the two scores
  9. I've been talking about the run defense all year, you're dead on right. Only problem IMO is Jalen Hurd. Doubt they'll go 10-0, but 9-1 or 8-2 isn't out of the question
  10. This is easily turning into Western Kentucky talking about how they were going to up-end Alabama last week. http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2012/9/7/3300507/western-kentucky-player-guarantee-alabama-win We all know how that turned out...
  11. I'd put money on the clock running continuous in the second half, if not earlier.
  12. In all seriousness, what's your logic behind this? I'd like to hear why you think a team (Lebanon) who has scored 6 points total before scoring 21 (and losing) to a then 0-3 (now 1-3) Glencliff team is going to beat a team in Wilson Central that has scored 151 points in that same timespan? Wilson Central can run and pass the ball effectively, score points, and win games. Lebanon can't even beat a winless team right now. Your thoughts?
  13. Hahahahaha. Wow, that gave me a good laugh. So, we'll see you this weekend at Zanies, right BDPinYoFace?
  14. Wilson Central's defense held Morton (one of the best running backs in the state) to 35 yards on the ground. WC may POSSIBLY be the only answer for Jalen Hurd this year...which would be amazing
  15. It will be WC's players jobs to convince HC Dedman and OC White to run the score up on Lebanon as much as they can. My prediction? 2nd teams for Wilson Central enter the game in 3rd quarter after Wilson Central pops 40 on the board in the first half. Final score: 63-14. Lebanon won't be able to stop WC's 1st string offense or do anything against their 1st string defense. 2nd string will be when they'll score their points. Expect Givens to have 100+ yards on the ground and at least 2 touchdowns. Roundtree will toss for at least 3 TD's. I'd expect Lee/Price/Pavan/Fitzgerald/Angel all to at least have one touchdown a piece. I try to be constructive when it comes to this, but Lebanon is just, without a doubt, awful this season. The WC players are going to make sure they do whatever they can to ramp it up in Lebanon's new stadium too, making a statement before the great showdown with Centennial next week.
  16. Interesting matchup this week for Wilson Central. Shelbyville is very well rounded offensively, but proved last week vs Franklin County that they can be scored on. Shelbyville's biggest weakness seems to be their run defense, as they've given up at least 100 yards in every game this season. However, they have a QB who can throw and a RB in Morton who can run. Yet, while there biggest strength IS their run game, Wilson Central's biggest strength is their stout defense (most notably their rush defense). So far, WC has shut down every run game that they've faced, including Hendersonville's Wing-T last week and LaVergne's 1-2 punch two weeks ago. So far, WC has been able to stop the air attack, but we haven't seen much of it from the first 3 opponents. If Shelbyville wants a chance to win, they're gonna have to air it out. That being said? Wilson Central walks away with the win 31-14.
  17. There are only 3 games that concern me for Wilson Central: 1) Shelbyville (put a LOT of points on the board, real dangerous) 2) Beech (Jalen Hurd, that's all you need to say) 3) Mt. Juliet (One of the best in the state) If WCHS finishes 7-2 or 8-1 going into the Mt. Juliet game? Hooooboy that's gonna be a barnburner on Thursday Night Lights in late October
  18. Not really, they had a horrid season last year but started 2-0 in 2010 before dropping the rest of the season essentially. They've had success over the past 5-6 years (except the previous 2, minus the start in 2010). However, with their head coach now acting as head coach AND defensive coordinator, things are changing for the better. Coach Dedmon used to be a DC before he started as head coach for WCHS. Wilson Central's run defense is STOUT this year. While they didn't face much competition from Gallatin, they did face two EXTREMELY strong running backs against LaVergne last week and shut them down for the majority of the game (minus a 30+ yard TD from Cowan). Their pass defense is relatively untested as Gallatin and LaVergne BOTH tried to run the ball against Central and did it unsuccessfully. What leads me to believe Central will win is two things: 1) Hendersonville plays a Wing T and did practically nothing but rush last week against Franklin. They only tossed it a few times and threw 4 INT's throughout the entire night. If they run against Central, they're going to be in for a huge surprise when they're stopped cold 2) They will be playing with a LOT of emotion this week due to a loss in their football family. Real emotional game for them on Friday night
