Summertown will get the runner up in Region 5-A in state sectionals which will be either Camden, Harpeth or Hickman County. Throw out the records for the Region tourney as all three teams are pretty evenly matched. It’s gonna be whoever shows up that night. That tourney is probably gonna be in Camden which is a huge bonus for the Lions in their first year in the Region. It is a HAUL for both Harpeth and Hickman Co and will be tough to get fans to travel. So my guess is that you will get….I don’t know. It’s too close to count right now.

Why do you think the tournament will be in Camden?

Everyone knew this was gonna be a marquee matchup. I actually thought Camden would have won. They have great coaching and I thought they would find a way to win. Kudos to HC for pulling it out. Terrible call at the end of that match though. Camden ball clearly in that would have extended the set, but hey...what are you gonna do? They miss them sometimes. District & Region tournaments are gonna be insane this year.

Didn't get to see the play but Camden blow it in my opinion. There were other calls that shouldn't have went Hickmans way in the first two sets but didn't. Camden had two other games to end it but couldn't.  Looked like they thought Hickman was going to hand them the win after going up 2-0.

  3. Very impressive win last night for Hickman County. They were down 2-0 to Camden and came back to take the win. The 2 set wins by Camden were 26-24 and 28-26 very close. The next two weren't close 25-15 and 25-18. The final was competitive 15-11.

Waverly’s Jr High game was canceled against the Mud dawgs from Hickman. Players and fans were already at the field and warmed up. I pulled in from a long days work and was going to watch the wildcats whoop up on those puppies but all of a sudden the game was called off due to no refs!

Anybody else having this issue? I heard a commercial on the radio not to long ago about Tennessee being short staffed this year with TSSAA refs.

    I just might apply LOL

How did the game turn out once it was played?

  5. Wanted to share this with the ones that are in Hickman County's region this year and ones that have been in the past. Don't know a whole a lot about the story just seen the post by the Quarterback club here. Very sad situation!

    Willie Taylor Class  of 2020

Willie played for the Bulldog Football team and he received many district and  region awards.  Bulldog Nation wants to help as much as we can. At our home games this season , we will be passing around a Bulldog Bucket to get Tokens for Taylor.   We will also be having Touchdowns for Taylor  shirts available by the first home game, August 20.   If you aren’t able to attend games please contact the QB club and we will direct you on how to make a donation.  Thank you for any prayers and donations.

    This is Willie’s story ...
It was shortly after his graduation that he was diagnosed with cancer.  Willie has had surgery to remove the cancer but did not completely remove the cancer from his body.  Willie has had months of chemo which was not working, but is now at Vanderbilt for experimental treatment involving Radiation, Chemo, and stem cell therapy.  While there is hope about these treatments, Willie is staying nauseated and is very weak.

If you would be willing to write a letter of encouragement or send a card Willie’s address at Vanderbilt will be posted below.  Prayers for Willie would also be appreciated and coveted by the family.

Coming from the team that waverly just beat. Get outta here with your crap.

First I’m not the team. I’m a fan! Second Waverly hasn’t beat anyone that’s good this season. Huntingdon is having a down year and they handed it to you. Are you counting this week a win since Fairview had to cancel due to COVID?

  7. I don’t know what to expect from the bulldogs this year. This isn’t a good year to have a new HC with the limited time with the players and no scrimmages. I’m also question how good of a coach is McDonald is. Didn’t have much of luck if any at the middle school level. I’ve heard good things about the DC that came from Lewis. Our OC is a former player that was a starter at UTC playing safety for atleast 3 years I believe. He also played arena football for a few years. He’s probably the best player to come out of Hickman in awhile. Hopefully he can take what he learned from those years and pass it on to his players. He played QB and safety here 2006-2008 and Coached by Swenson. Maybe he gave Swenson a call this week for some tips. :o

Wow, would it be fair to say that the Nolensville/Creekwood winner was a shocker?  Creekwood won their regular season title so what will be the #4 time of them and Fairview locking horns?

What about the Hickman Co/Central Magnet winner? Is that a shocker? Sounds like this game was a defensive slugfest! 48-47???? Or is it 2 teams that struggle to score?

Sounds like it is Community's to win in the round 4 game with Central Magnet.

Hickman is a defense first team. Their season scores show that. But I have never seen a more confused officiating. From a ref talking to the crowd during the game for explaining a call he made (unprofessionally). And 3-4 calls from one ref being over turned by the other two refs. Then at the end of the game the refs stood on the floor for atleast 30secs looking at each other to see if one of them was going to call a foul, which there should have been in my opinion. Our AD pretty much had to force them to leave the court and go to their locker rooms. I’m not saying that cost us the game because we did make silly turnovers but I just expect better officiating during tournament play.

DJ Key was a good high school player. Interested how many hometown guys he is going to put on his staff

My understanding he’s also going to be an assistant Basketball coach also. He was definitely a good football player but also I good basketball player. I believe he still holds the record Hickman for the most points scored in bb game. He’s also well matter person and great person for students to look up too. He’s the one I’m most excited to see coaching this coming up season. I’ve heard good things about the two Lewis county guys as well.
